Increased productivity in my company, holds all my employees accountable

  • April 22, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
What I really like about using Asana is how much it's streamlined the way our team works. Once I spent some time going through their tutorials and help articles, getting everything set up was pretty straightforward.

It's been a game-changer for keeping everyone aligned—deadlines are clear, tasks don’t fall through the cracks, and it's easy to see who’s responsible for what. The approval workflows and task dependencies are especially helpful for keeping projects on track without constant check-ins.

We’ve been able to move most of our internal communication along with project tracking into Asana, which has made a huge difference. No more digging through endless message threads trying to find who said what—everything’s organized and easy to follow.

I also really appreciate how simple it is to structure and manage different teams. Whether we’re planning a marketing campaign or coordinating logistics across offices, everything lives in one place and everyone’s on the same page.
What do you dislike about the product?
I honestly don't have anything negative to say about Asana. Looking forward to building my company up with the ease of the platform.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
One of the things I really value is how Asana helps us stay ahead of deadlines instead of just racing to meet them. Having clear timelines and task visibility means we can actually plan properly—especially when it comes to equipment purchases or workshop upgrades.

The approval feature has been a huge win in that area. Instead of going back and forth over messages or email, we can track requests for new gear, get the green light from the right person, and move forward without delays. It keeps everything moving efficiently, which is crucial when time-sensitive decisions come up.

What do you like best about the product?
Starting to explore the new time tracking features.
What do you dislike about the product?
The reporting won't support time tracking like we need it to at this point, but I am keeping an eye on it for when it will update.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are able to manage our projects and people in one platform, allowing us to tie their performance to their actual work.

2025 Started with Broken Promises & Broken Support from Asana

  • April 22, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
before 2025 It was better option to use.
What do you dislike about the product?
I’ve been an Asana user for years and recently migrated my team from ClickUp, expecting a smoother experience. Unfortunately, it’s been frustrating from the start.

After our trial ended, our entire project panel was locked, with no clear notice or fallback option. We couldn’t access anything, not even to remove paid features. This brought our entire workflow to a halt.

To make things worse, Asana's support team was unaware of how or where I could apply my coupon code. I was misdirected multiple times, and despite 4+ days of follow-ups, the issue is still unresolved.

It honestly feels like the system is built to force upgrades, rather than offer a fair transition or helpful guidance.

If Asana doesn’t intend to support early-stage teams or startups, it shouldn't market that it does. The experience was not just inconvenient—it was damaging to our business operations.

We expected better. A project management tool should help you grow, not block your team when you need it most.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
None

Using Asana for Years + Love It

  • April 21, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like that it's worked well for us when we first started using the free plan and over the last several years as our team grew, we added users and incorporated the additional functionality from Asana. It's been flexible as staff, client mix and projects change.

It's easy to use, as we onboard new employees, they catch on to it quickly.
And, we use it every day. Asana is one of the core tools our team has in our tech stack
What do you dislike about the product?
Time tracking in any package seems to be a challenge. We had the much higher package with portfolios and workload, but time tracking and reporting - mostly reporting - did not for us to bill clients accurately or have a clear vision of capacity.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Keeping all clients and their projects on track.
Understanding what our individual tasks are, how we communicate with each other.

What do you dislike about the product?
Template creation can be hard because it doesn't show all the subtasks.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Consolidation of tasks, review comments, etc.

Asana Review for GiveMN

  • April 21, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Clear Task Ownership & Deadlines: Asana makes it easy to assign tasks, set due dates, and create subtasks, which keeps everyone accountable and ensures we’re moving forward on time-sensitive work.

Customizable Project Views: Whether we’re planning a comms calendar or managing a major fundraising initiative, we can switch between Kanban boards, calendars, and lists based on what works best for our team.

Collaboration & Transparency: Conversations stay connected to the work. Having comments, attachments, and updates all in one place helps reduce email clutter and keeps the team on the same page.

Templates: We’ve created reusable templates for campaigns and reporting cycles, which save time and help standardize workflows across the organization.
What do you dislike about the product?
Notification Overload: It’s easy to get buried in Asana notifications, especially when working across multiple projects. This can be overwhelming and lead to missed priorities unless team members are proactive about customizing their settings.

Overcomplexity for Small Teams: Sometimes, Asana can feel like using a sledgehammer to push in a thumbtack, especially for smaller or one-off projects. It can take more time to set up a workflow than to just complete the task.

Limited Reporting Without Paid Tier: While the basic version is robust, the more advanced reporting dashboards and features we’d love to use for strategic insights are behind a paywall. That’s a consideration for nonprofits trying to stay lean.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We aren't in the same place so being able to manage products from various spaces and places is so important.

Asana Experience

  • April 21, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like the user friendly feel and the way it easily organizes tasks. This makes meetings very efficient to know what the status of tasks are. There are a lot of ways to customize the board that makes it effective for departments to understand where things are and who is working on certain items.
What do you dislike about the product?
I haven't found anything that I really dislike about this platform
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
In Marketing - Asana helps keeps track of tasks. It also allows us to share the board with guest users to include our marketing agency we partner with. Asana helps us keep everything in one place from goals to action items and even meeting agendas. It's a great source for all open and closed marketing tasks.
In Sales - Asana helps them keep track of leads coming in through web and calls, quotes that need to go out, and what projects have had shipped products.

Love the Workflows

  • April 21, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
love how useful it is to run workflows and automations, they make sure everything gets done in a timely manner and nothing is forgotten along the way.
What do you dislike about the product?
Wish that task count could be used for goal tracking. Wish custom fields on subtasks could trigger custom fields on main tasks.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Ownership and tracking to efficiency of the team.
