Great at first glance but useless for small team power users
What do you like best about the product?
UI and folder structure is nice and logical. Some integrations like assigning emails as taks directly from Gmail work great and are immensly helpful.
What do you dislike about the product?
Asana has great potential, but its limitations can be infuriating. Say you have three team members, each managing 10 projects. You come up with a brilliant automation idea that you want to apply across all projects. Surely, there must be a bulk-add rule for that… right? Well, there is—but only for enterprise users.
You contact sales, only to be told that the minimum user count for an enterprise plan is five. No problem, you think, I’ll just use their API to create the rules programmatically. But nope—there’s no API for that.
Fine, you think, I’ll just switch to another tool. But since Asana only offers yearly billing with no refund policy, you're stuck with two bad options: lose €1800 or manually add 30 rules one by one. Fantastic.
And judging by their forums, this issue has been around for years—strongly suggesting that it’s an intentional sales tactic rather than an oversight

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Organising tasks and measuring work hours.
Pretty nifty when it comes to having a bird's eye view of your projects
What do you like best about the product?
I like how simple and ease to use it is. There is no major learning curve. Everything is available right in front of you and yes there are some nuances that I think needs a little time to be able to find around and learn but that isn't a problem. Previously our team was working out of notion and everything was everywhere (OMG! a headache to be honest). Now we all have visibility of what each of us in the team is doing.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing much. Honestly I have just started using it fully but I can't really point anything bad.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It helps the team to be able to see what each one of us are working on. Also it is extremely useful in maintaining projects (this can be ranging from simple tasks to really high tickets projects) . Love the unicorns that fly once your tasks are complete, very satisfying to see :D
A User-Friendly Tool with AI Perks but Licensing Drawbacks
What do you like best about the product?
Asana stands out for its ease of use and intuitive interface. The platform’s AI-powered features, particularly in building project templates, significantly streamline workflow setup. Additionally, its mobile experience is well-designed, making it easy to stay on top of tasks while on the go.
What do you dislike about the product?
One key drawback is the lack of an easy, automated way to track project completion by percentage, which would enhance visibility for stakeholders. Additionally, the licensing model is rigid—read-only users still require a full user license, which can be a costly constraint for large teams.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Asana helps streamline cross-functional project management, enabling better coordination for operational improvements, and data integration efforts. Our project manger can utilize Asana to chase after the incomplete tasks automatically and organize project data at one single platform. We can also manage different project calendars more effectively to avoid change management conflict.
Great platform for working across teams and project types.
What do you like best about the product?
So far, my team likes working in Asana. Onboarding was pretty straightforward, and it didn't take long to get the hang of how the platform works. A lot of flexibility is built into Asana, which helped us figure out the best way to work within the structure for our use case. We utilize the rules for many of our projects and use forms to add information to Asana from outside our team easily. Our team templatized all processes to keep implementing new projects and onboarding smooth. We use the platform individually every day and weekly as a team.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't like the way that you can view portfolios. I would appreciate a more project-type view from within a portfolio. It would also be nice if Asana did an individual onboarding call with new clients to help with the initial build-out for specific use cases.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Asana is helping our team keep track of projects across peers. It is allowing us to keep tasks on track and ensure things don't fall through the cracks.
Asana for small business owners
What do you like best about the product?
That you can do A LOT. It has a ton of capabilities allowing for customizing within your business. We utilize this platform everyday and it's very user friendly and easy to start using in your business as well as implementing with the team.
What do you dislike about the product?
In my opinion, there's a lack of support it seems when you're struggling with 'how-to's' on your end.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It's allowing my higher end Virtual Assistant business to operate well on one platform.
Huge Automation Options
What do you like best about the product?
I love the flexibility of the automations. I can't keep all the protocols in my head for all our project types, so building it once and letting the workflows run on their own has saved me so much time and headache
What do you dislike about the product?
The structure of projects, teams, users, and dashboards are confusing. Getting set up was a little convoluted at first.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Tasks, projects, customer service. Helps us keep things out of hideous, long email threads and in one clean spot
Coordinate Daily & Weekly Team Activities
What do you like best about the product?
Easy to use and can work on all platforms.
What do you dislike about the product?
Undo is not available. If a task is tick as completed by mistake, no simple undo (eg. CTR+Z)
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Coordinating between the team. Not missing critical tasks or deadlines.
Asana Is Great - Very Powerful
What do you like best about the product?
Asana is very customizable. I like the Asana widget for gmail and I also like how pdfs can be emailed to the account and turned into tasks.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is a steep learning curve and there aren't any best practices to set it u p a certain way. Almost like you need a subject matter expert to help you initially.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It is helping us keep track of our deadlines
Powerful, yet simple to use
What do you like best about the product?
I'm a very organized person, but have a lot of projects and programs to juggle at once. I like that Asana is flexible enough to assist my organization and workflows, rather than forcing me to adapt to a totally structured setup.
What do you dislike about the product?
When a coworker assigns me a task, it can sometimes be difficult to identify which project it rolls up to and all other associated tasks (beside the one assigned to me).
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Asana helps most with collaboration on shared projects within our marketing team.
Asana - our internal PM hub
What do you like best about the product?

What do you dislike about the product?
Not many downsides to the UI overall. Nothing I can really pick on.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It helps me tie all departments and stakeholders together in one, quick and easy place we can all track progress.
