Easy Project Management Tool

  • May 12, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It's very easy to use. The learning curve is very minimal. It is easy to set up tasks, subtasks, and loop people in. I've used several other project management tools in the past and some have extremely high learning curves and are honestly just too robust. Asana is a simple easy tool to use and fits the needs of a small company well.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is nothing I truly dislike about Asana, other than that my previous agency wouldn't use it :)
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are easily able to collaborate in a remote space with both team members and freelancers alike. It's easy to keep projects moving and see important deadlines.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Use it! It is so easy to use and just overall a great tool.

Amazing Project Management Tool

  • May 12, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I have ADHD so a lot of menial tasks are hard to push through but Asana has a visual rewards system after completing tasks that make earning it fun and exciting that doing the work is easier. Also love the ease of managing tasks for other team memebers and within projects.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's hard to work with the integrations of the platform and the desktop application is a little finiky. I believe some more TLC in these departments would help.

The desktop app isn't friendly to merge down and get full access to all the tools at a windowed view. But otherwise works similarly to the internet browser.

Integration with Slack is hard to manage and not sure how it works.

Emailing to a project is hard to track. Wish it could set up a task similar to emailing yourself via asana. Trying to email a task for someone else ends up being a multi-step process.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Main problem is task management. Our team was using about 7 different spreadsheets to manage tasks through different projects and always losing sight of what needed to be done

By properly assigning tasks team members were finally able to see their projects and assignments in one dashboard instead of multiple locations
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Free version is very effective and paid versions for teams really helps with workflow management and recurring tasks following similar outlines.

Easy to use project organizing software!

  • May 12, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Asana helps keep my team organized so we can see exactly how our projects are progressing. I love that it sends notifications to my email, as well as alerting me on the Asana app. I love that you can upload documents right to the task, so people can easily make edits.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only thing I dislike about Asana is that it might be too feature-rich. This isn't necessarily a bad thing, but there are just quite a few features that my team doesn't use.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Asana helps keep my team on track with all of our projects. It solves many of our organizational problems. I've also realized it functions as our team calendar, as we can see who has meetings with which partners and when.

I used ASANA as a Task Management software to assign tasks for all team mates.

What do you like best about the product?
Its very easy to use and very user friendly.
Usage of Checklists
What do you dislike about the product?
Wish some more automation features could have been added like in Trello
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I was using the software to assign daily tasks to check on their productivity.
It was user friendly and easy to put across for my team members to understand and start working on it right from day 1.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Its easy to use software for tasks and projects

Asana is one of the best project management tools I've ever used, but...

  • May 12, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I love three things about Asana:

1. Intuitive and user-friendly: before using Asana at my current company, I had never heard of it. By clicking around, I was able to figure it out in 3 days.

2. Easy to cross-collaborate across a company: Whether it's assigning others tasks, putting in due dates, or working on a company-wide initiative, Asana makes it really, really easy to work on large scale projects across mutliple players in a company.

3. Multiple views: I can view my tasks as a list, as a board, or on a timeline. Asana is customizable-which makes it great for almost anyone
What do you dislike about the product?
Here's the BUT:

When there are many collaborators, using multiple Asana boards, and combining it with my own task list, it's easy to get lost within the tool. I've had many, many occassions where a project deadline gets lost, or communication was hard to follow.

Additionally, sometimes there are too many clicks required to get in or out of a task. I often find myself two layers into a task, and there is not an intutitive way to get one level up without closing the entire task and then having to click back into the layer you were looking for.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Problems solving with Asana:
- Company wide collaboration
- project management
- assigning leaders and timelines for tasks

Benefits:
- easier communication
- clear deadlines
- user-friendly (for the most part)

Good task management tool, but it can get out of control.

  • May 12, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Drag and drop capabilities. (Kanban style boards). Integrations to many other third-party tools allow for bi-directional communication. Ability to create workflows to automatically takes actions on tasks. Ability to create templates and use them to quickly spin up new projects.
What do you dislike about the product?
From a UI perspective, there is a lot going on and it can be somewhat overwhelming, especially for a new user. Occasionally experience outages. Not a lot of outages, but certainly more than I've experienced with other SaaS tools. Not really an Asana issue, but if you aren't thoughtful in what you're going to use the tool for, it can get quickly out of control. I.e., if you create a lot of projects, you could spend hours every day just keeping up with changes and notifications.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Asana to manage our larger projects. For this purpose, it's very useful. We also use Asana as an individual task manager. (allowing any colleague to add tasks to our to-do board). It's this last use case that causes Asana to become overwhelming. (in my opinion)

Versatile Project Management at Your Fingertips

  • May 12, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Asana is at its best with its flexible and fluent interface. Being web-based ensures it is available 24/7 and updates live for all team members. The platform seems simple when you first use it, but it can be quite powerful once you learn its ins-and-outs.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's not a problem with the product itself, but a struggle we have at our organization is it is difficult to get people to use it. If not everyone is using it, it becomes challenging to see the full benefits of Asana. Everyone needs to buy in to get the most out of Asana.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Obviously, we track our strategic goals and projects with Asana. It's great to be able to assign action items and see the items get crossed off the list as we go. Being able to comment on tasks and collaborate has been of great value.

The notification system is key to keeping our staff on-track. It reminds them of upcoming or overdue tasks to complete. Threaded conversations in each task present a great opportunity to collaborate and keep leaders up to date on the latest progress.

Additionally, we use Asana for our meeting agendas. This ensures we all have access to the latest agenda and can remember items that come out of previous meetings and can complete any follow-up items.
