The Go-To Task Management App
What do you like best about the product?
The simplicity and flexibility of usage. The UI is clean and easy to navigate
What do you dislike about the product?
Not enough customization options (dark mode, moving sidebars, hiding sidebars, text & row size)
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The main problem is prioritizing tasks as well as recording/capturing them to avoid forgetting. It is helpful, in staying organized as well for different projects and showing progress to others. It makes delegation and collaboration on projects easier and clear for project members.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
watch the getting started videos and the blogs to learn how to use it properly and well. There are also user case studies that show how some power users utilize the app.
A To-Do List for the Serious
What do you like best about the product?
Asana is very flexible and capable project management tool. At its simplest it a to-do list for the serious. At is most complicated it looks like it can accomodate the management of a large team.
The task structure and option were quite nice and the ability to organize into sub tasks and projects was very nice.
Both the mobile and web app are nicely designed and easy to use and adopt.

What do you dislike about the product?
When switching from an app like Trello, or even Notepad, it can feel a bit cumbersome since it really does try to provide a professional and robust project management offering.
I almost wish there was a "simple" view that abstracted away some of the robust option they provide but I suspect this would be to a different market segment than they're offering value to.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We were trying to solve day-to-day task management of a distributed team that communicates in an asynchronous manner.
To be able to get a project's or a person's workload in a glance was the goal. Oh, and to rely less on email.

Recommendations to others considering the product:
At the end of the day, Asana is a to-do list on steroids. It can be too much for a small team but for larger teams with more complex projects it would be a good fit.
Asana is one of the best team management applications I have ever used.
What do you like best about the product?
What I like most about Asana is the fact that I can seamlessly add and remove team members whenever I need them to focus on a single task, and when that task no longer needs their services and they can get back to another task.
What do you dislike about the product?
It is not so straight forward, it is a bit hard to maneuver at times.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Asana to strategize certain tasks and get all hands on deck whenever it is needed. The biggest benefit of having Asana is having a program that is a one stop shop. We can have everything we need in one place and don't need to utilize other programs to plan out tasks.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Asana is amazing because it has all of the tools you need in one place. You can add and remove team members from certain projects and maintain them seamlessly. I would definitely recommend using Asana if you are a mid size organization looking to maximize your time on certain tasks.

What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike the difficulty to delete tasks and the drag and drop isn't as easy as Trello

We are solving meeting and project task prioritization. We are able to work more effectively and better utilize meeting time by using Asana for meeting agenda prep.

Graphically the software is not as much efficient as it should be. You cannot comebe to your tasks after having a search for Kanban projects preview. This is a single flaw in the tool.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
If you are working in an organization where you have to handle complex tasks and multiple files than there is a solution to handle these tasks in the form of Asana. Great platform
What do you like best about the product?
Asana is a great project management tool no matter the size of your team or business. We use this on multiple projects to help keep our projects on time and on budget. It's a great way of keeping clients in the loop as to where your projects are running whilst keeping your team all tuned into the goals, targets and progress of your campaigns.
I especially like the communication on projects this gives us. We can chat within each project to hash out the finer details of each task and have this saved to the project for reference. It's a great update from sending emails back and forth and CCing everybody in.
The paid version of Asana allows you to set factors which must be met in order to reach the next target. This has been a really great feature for us as most of our digital marketing project are staggered, with many stages not being able to start until the previous stage is completed or additional tasks are met.

What do you dislike about the product?
There are still some paid features which we have not upgraded to yet. The price is slightly higher than I would have expected for the additional services provided. We have been so happy with Asana and the way it helps our day to day business that I am finding it hard to think of any negatives. We tried so any of this style of platform and Asana has been the one we have taken in to our business and use every day.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have used a few different project management tools to help manage our digitial marketing projects. We run a lot of campaigns that involve our inhouse team as well as external contractors, offsite workers and clients on marketing teams. This platform is brilliant for allowing us all to communicate, set short and long term targets and keep our projects on target.
The variety this platform gives as far as the options of a list of tasks vs task cards fits our business perfectly. This really does allow us to both brain storm and organise all in one place. Tagged team members and assigning tasks within the platform are perfect for us.

Work/time/project management tool that doesn't surprise
What do you like best about the product?
It helps prioritize and assign tasks and keep teams tightly organized.
What do you dislike about the product?
It provides all the right tools but it still doesn't somehow convince me. It's quite generic, lacking that special feature or unique touch that would make me become a loyal user.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The management of quite complex projects in a team.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I see no reason why one would not give it a try.
Project Management to Keep Us All Aligned
What do you like best about the product?
Asana provides a very easy to use web interface with mobile application support as well. It is an intuitive drag and drop interface that allows for a lot of room to get things done once you explore how it links into other applications. The gantt chart visualizations really help to understand how we are doing on tasks in relations to timelines as well as overall project progress. Asana helps foster better resource allocation as well.
What do you dislike about the product?
The learning curve can be a bit steep for those who are not technologically savvy (or patient). In addition to individual learning curves, it can be confusing to some to bounce around between different workspaces (I have four myself). It would be wonderful to be able to have a macro look at all projects you are on regardless of workspace location in order to get a more precise and quicker overview of what is happening.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Asana to manage tasks across a large team for complex research and evaluations. We are able to easily coordinate tasks across units and time constraints allowing the entire team to stay on the same page. Additionally, by assigning tasks which in turn show up on the assignee's calendar, we ensure that we hit our deadlines and produce high caliber products.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It's critical to understand your organization's needs before selecting project management software. What problem(s) are you trying to solve, what information do you need tracked, and what reporting do you need are great places to start. When it comes to Asana, I highly recommend starting with a free account and really working through it (don't forget to check out the help features) to see if it is the solution you truly need.
