Review of Arena after a year of use.
What do you like best about the product?
Arena is very clear and easy to use. All of the modules are very easy to understand and the software makes life easier for you when it comes to management. Managing Quality documents in one easy BOM makes it easy to trace
What do you dislike about the product?
It is hard to mass upload numerous files for a single part/assembly. Sometimes is slow downloading files from their servers.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Arena for medical QMS system and PLM. The software manages all of our official documentation, which is used/reviews in Audits of our QMS system.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Arena is easy to use and simple. An easy choice to make when it means managing your PLM/QMS data.

What do you like best about the product?
Arena is very user friendly and simple to navigate. All parts and changes can be done in an easy to use system.
What do you dislike about the product?
It would be helpful if Arena had the capability to manage approval routings in a modular way on a case by case basis.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Arena is helping us to manage our deviations and engineering changes. It makes communication easy within the organization.

Excellent experience with Arena
What do you like best about the product?
My company recently changed over from a manual document control system to the Arena electronic system. The ease of review, data integrity of the documents, and user friendly interface allowed our company to efficiently migrate over.
What do you dislike about the product?
It would be nice if users could actively see if multiple people are viewing the :Working" revision. This would give visibility to simultaneous editing.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our document control system was a manual nightmare. But moving over to Arena operators have visibility to where you are in the change process. We also integrated our NCR process into Arena and that has allowed for more efficient review and remediation for our nonconformances.
Easy to use platform
What do you like best about the product?
The easy to use functionality. Document searches are quite quick using keywords or phrases. It's also easy to make change requests and link to other documents. The alternative BOM feature is also nice!
What do you dislike about the product?
Searches using multiple keywords will not return a document if the keywords are reversed in the title of the document. The linking of deviations to documents and training to deviations is too complex. When there is a notification for a deviation to train on, the original document is linked to it, not the deviation. You have to hunt for the deviation.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Moving away from a paper systems makes it much easier to track changes and the decisions behind them. It's also a huge improvement having real-time signatures.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
The interface is more intuitive than SAP, which I used at a previous company.

What do you like best about the product?
I like the navigation experience, and how I can pin documents to my home screen.
What do you dislike about the product?
There's not too much I dislike about Arena.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Arena daily in order to reference important documents that help me do my job.
Arena has helped organize and keep projects on schedule
What do you like best about the product?
I love how user friendly and intuitive arena is. if I don't know (or remember) how to do something it usually doesn't take long to figure out.
What do you dislike about the product?
I feel like there can be some redundancy in some of the options when setting up projects
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The transparency on projects has helped keep everyone accountable and on the same page on each step of every project.
Document Controller
What do you like best about the product?
I think Arena PLM is very flexible in terms of accessing everywhere in the world even at home during COVID time. Furthermore, it is very secure.
What do you dislike about the product?
For Administrator, Arena has very trick rules for unable to edit or update even with the Administrator role. Sometimes, the edit/update is needed since human does mistake put wrong files or spelling that need to be fixed.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Arena is one of the best candidates for data retriever and history tracking.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you want an affordable PLM for your business, Arena is the best candidate.
A good tool as a PLM. UI leaves something to be desired.

-price, training is built in, metrics are easy to pull, customization is good

-usability, the search function is TERRIBLE, I wish it had a tree for folders

Medical device company that is trying to get ISO 13485:2016 certified and be FDA compliant.

What do you like best about the product?
The BOM management works excellent with having control of different levels for specific supplier and CMs.
What do you dislike about the product?
Since its a SaaS model, there are few areas which need further enhancement and more customisation options.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
For a dynamic business needs in a short lifecycle product business, more customization options are needed.

What do you like best about the product?
Arena is one of the most user-friendly interfaces available. The ability to create linkages throughout the tool make it easy to track issues, changes, reports etc. There are several security features that provide a closed loop item change workflow. Arena stores all records through item, change, and quality workflows that provide a traceable approval history that is easily accessible. Each world provides a level of customization that administrators can tailor to fit internal company processes.
What do you dislike about the product?
The Quality world notifications aren't intuitive and become overwhelming since they aren't managed by open or currently pending actions only. Updates to sourcing information, particularly with regard to compliance requirements, contain nuanced workflows that are confusing and time consuming. BOM views, exports and reports do not translate well to excel and require manual customization outside of Arena.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Arena PLM provides a closed-loop change management tool that is necessary for maintaining a high level of data integrity in our control of records. The approval workflows in the request, change, and quality worlds make key business decisions part of a traceable history that can be directly linked to the items that are directly impacted by those decisions. Arena PLM is a 'source of truth' in our ever changing design environment and has facilitated the evolution of our products from initial conception through general market availability.

Arena PLM & QMS can be customized from the ground up. Be aware of all of the useful features and implement them early to utilize all benefits of the tools that are provided.
