Customizable PLM Solution
What do you like best about the product?
Arena is a great PLM system that is extremely flexible and has allowed us to manage not only document control processes but also quality processes and employee training records. Arena has always been very responsive to our questions and provided extensive help in implementing the system. I also like that Arena has its own validation, which allows us to more easily validate the system.
What do you dislike about the product?
The integration with Solidworks is not as straightforward as I had hoped and was very frustrating to set up. There was a lot of confusion on my end with respect to which PDM solutions were compatible with the Arena integration. At this point, I am much more familiar with the integration and have a better understanding but it took a while to get to this point and also required troubleshooting from our IT team to get the system up and running.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Arena has allowed our company to move from a paper based document control system to an electronic system. This switch has greatly improved processes by making them more straightforward. Additionally, electronic document approval allows us to more quickly approve documents. We've improved employee training tracking and have implemented our own customized additional systems within Arena including equipment calibration tracking and inventory tracking.

What do you like best about the product?
The Arena PLM is very easy to set up and to use as well as administer. I have used many PLM's available and in my opinion, Arena is the best hosted option. It does everything that we need it to; upload to ERP, schematic capture, etc.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are customizations and a few functionality items we would like to be able to add that we are not able to.
Saying that, the benefits of a hosted PLM far outweigh the slight disadvantage for our size company.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are using Arena as a PLM only. We are not using the other modules at this company and are very happy with the PLM functionality.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Arena PLM is wonderful for the small to mid size company. You don't need internal IT support at all.
At other companies I have had Arena integrated with our ERP system and have found it the most efficient use of any PLM.

User friendly and easy to implement
What do you like best about the product?
The application is user friendly and offers a good suite of features to support operations. The online support documentation and videos are very good.
What do you dislike about the product?
They don't offer a floating license options.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Managing product data.

What do you like best about the product?
The Arena PLM structure is in a way similar to the normal product evolution. Therefor it is intuitive and easy to use. The support provided by the technical staff is excellent and easily available.
What do you dislike about the product?
The functionality depends on a solid network connection.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The gain is most important when I need to get CM quotations quickly for critical electronic assemblies. The pre entered information is instantly available.

What do you like best about the product?
Ease of use. Very intuitive, and when difficulties arise, the Arena expert support systems were excellent. Specifically during the transition from a manual document control system to Arena.
What do you dislike about the product?
Although it may sound a little two-face, support for the last couple of issues was very slow in response, and in the last two incidents I solved the issue myself, due to urgency, before Arena support replied

Medical Device Electronic QMS system. The routing and approval process improved an order of magnitude in time to process, and objective evidence that substantiates the changes/release.

The way it manages all the search items, storage capacity, ease of use, tractability, revision control..

Some time arena takes a bit of time for loading the page and rest i felt is good

We use Arena for the documentation purpose and it does a great job in doing that and have a track of all the drawings based on the revision

My experience with Arena has been excellent from first contact to go-live and since.

Product BOM tracking, approvals. Benefits are single portal for keeping track of products, approvals etc.
