QAD is in reality an ERP system not a multi purpose system which we are trying to use

What do you like best about the product?
Probably the only comment is that all platforms including CRM,ERP and Sales tools are on the same platform.
Quite reasonable in turning quotes into orders, and pretty diverse reporting capability. The fact that all functions are on the same platform is definitely of potential benefit to organisations as it allows complete access if necessary to all functions round a single client ID. This includes quotes, credit history and previous sales history coupled with the CRM PROFILE which does provide a potentially reasonable overview
What do you dislike about the product?
It is inflexible, costly to customise and very limited in our revision in terms of Internet interaction.
Also has a menu structure that is insanely large and some of the menu descriptions don reflect the actual function. Also a comment on the CRM. It is far to structured and difficult to manoeuvre around in the various profiles and address requirements to be of significant benefit to sales teams.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Probably limited solutions at this time but mainly interaction between sales history and product forecasting is one of the better ones. Additionally the turning of quotes into sales orders is basically a single function solution so very useful.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Be mindful of what you are trying to achieve. In its own right QAD is probably a very good ERP solution. However it suffers when you try to add sales functionality and CRM to it.

The systems functionality is good, and can be flexible. Stock and Warehouse functions are not as complete, but as a manufacturing tool it is very valuable.
What do you dislike about the product?
Personally I find some limitations, that can be remedied with further investment or customisation.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
manufacturing

QAD - A Great ERP for Enterprise

  • April 12, 2016

What do you like best about the product?
I like that its has some customization, the huge selections of modules, and the support team is great.
What do you dislike about the product?
QAD is a very proprietary program, so if you have in-house IT you need to make sure that they are knowledgeable with Linux and Open Edge Progress. It can become very costly to maintain if you do not have in-house knowledge.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
ERP system - being able to track what come in the door as unfinished goods to what goes out the door as finished goods
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Be mindful of the support and training required for product. Its also a very costly software to license on a per user basis
