One of the best centralized monitoring tools, easy to implement.
What do you like best about the product?
I like the interface and the fact that DataDog continues to add new integrations, they support all major platforms, it is a great tool for DevOps/SRE, as well as for product engineering teams. Our team uses a number of DD features, we have invested heavily in dashboards and monitors, we have DD integrated with Slack and Pager Duty and it is a main source of notifications that drives actions within our Operations team. Datadog has many integrations for almost everything, it is easy to use if you want to set up the integration, especially for AWS and Kubernetes, it allows you to start monitoring your cloud infrastructure.
What do you dislike about the product?
I would like DataDog to have better Kubernetes metrics, the alert tools do not effectively handle pod terminations or scaling events. I would also like to have more advanced Kubernetes metrics, improved IaC options to configure DataDog. A bit more locked in lately, dd-trace is gaining a great monopoly on reliably collecting everything (traces, profiles, and now, Security (ASM)), I wish there were an open standard for that, or that you would release an open standard.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have full visibility of the running service and the infrastructure, we use logs/tracing for historical tracking to identify new issues and overall health. Our current implementation of DD is mainly focused on monitoring and alerting for production software and critical systems in our infrastructure. With DataDog, we have an all-in-one tracking tool, especially the centralized logging that we use to analyze failures and errors in our application. It makes it easier for us to filter specific logs, on the other hand, infrastructure monitoring makes the cloud engineer's life easier.
Powerful tool for monitoring servers and applications.
What do you like best about the product?
It is an amazing central resource for administering and monitoring all of our servers and apps. The nicest thing about DataDog is that it is simple to use and offers excellent value for money. It also includes excellent support and learning tools that everyone can utilize. We monitor logs across various microservices in our architecture, and I cannot overstate the importance of debugging unhandled exceptions in production. Datadog, unlike others I've used before, has a simple-to-understand user interface. Log management is the best tool for troubleshooting because the logs are thorough and easy to read.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some of the integration and connection papers for setup are out of current and difficult to grasp for newcomers. You will need to contact the support team multiple times during the setting procedure. They are, nevertheless, fairly quick and eager to assist when required, It only supports apps written in Java, Python, .Net, and PHP; in the future, they should extend support for other languages to allow for greater industry adoption.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The main advantage we have is real-time alerting on any type of issue, which helps us control downtime and mistakes. You get total insight into apps and amazing visuals to utilize within the platform to verify everything functions as it should. We can monitor production and downstream environment logs for all of our microservices using real-time log streaming. We've also connected DataDog with Slack, so if there's an unusual rise in traffic, we'll receive an alert on our channel. The tool's documentation is great, and the ability to utilize tags to identify source and destination traffic is a big benefit for data monitoring.
Comes with good documentation and clear dashboards

Datadog make life easy
What do you like best about the product?
Easy to setup monitor, dashboards and alarms and seamless integration with other apps like slack
What do you dislike about the product?
Documentation can be improved, sometime it's difficult to find proper documentation to imple certain features and some pre-defined templa would be greatand eay to onboard
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Datadog is helping to analyse and solve issue in code and server. Tracing is just amazing you can trace exactly how much time each server is taking and what the qps required.
Expansive data mining and more, some assembly required
What do you like best about the product?
The user interface is nice. I get the feeling that you can do about anything with data piped into this platform. The replay feature was helpful to see exactly how the user navigated around the front end.
What do you dislike about the product?
Session reporting wasn't as verbose and detailed as what I was used to with LogDNA, but this may have been due to our implementation. Seems like you have to have an engineer and data person that are very dedicated to implementation of this tool as well as supporting the team's needs for it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Error logs, user replays
Datadog is the best observability monitoring tool for gaining insight into company infrastructure.
What do you like best about the product?
The best feature of Datadog is that it provides real-time insights into our cloud and system infrastructure. It has a Watchdog insight that is capable of using AI and ML to detect any errors in the company's infrastructure. The customization of the dashboards and metrics is very amazing, and we can easily integrate it with almost all the popular applications available in the market.
What do you dislike about the product?
The licensing cost is very high compared to other monitoring platforms, and it is very new to the market. We are not able to get much documentation and learning of the tools and the advanced features. The data storage is very limited; we can only view data for a short period of time.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Datadog helps us to reduce time in finding the error in the system. The real-time alerting helps us to investigate the error which can lead to a large impact and can result in outages of the system. We get all the monitoring features in one place: APM monitoring, log monitoring, synthetics monitoring, and a lot more in one place.
Monitoring dashboard for API and web applications

Datadog provide powerful mointoring and analytical planform cable.
What do you like best about the product?
it has a very friendly and simplified user interface. the support and account teams of Datadogs take the initiative to support their users with personalized training on Datadog features.
What do you dislike about the product?
in the Datadog the issue we are facing is licensing cost of the software is very high. its inability to integrate with third-party software is not good and even we are not able to find much documentation or learning videos to get familiar with the advanced features.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
as it is a fairly new application we cannot find much documentation and learn advanced Datadog technology on the internet. As data dog support organized team meeting for personalized advanced topics knowledge for our company.
