Easy installation and a good OS
What do you like best about the product?
Reliable product and great Linux OS. Installation is really easy as it also has guides to carry out the process of installation. Allows to monitor OS by creating custom scripts and has features for troubleshooting.
What do you dislike about the product?
It can be an issue in compatibility when specific software are used and upgrading between versions is quite a bit tough.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Addresses vulnerabilities faster and has many security features which is also allowed to be customized. Moreover, this is the best for server rooms or data centers running in large scale as it provides extensive security and prevents attacks.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
As security is a major concern, this will be an ideal OS to be used in your organization as it allows customization of security features and prevents from harmful attacks.

Solid and stable
What do you like best about the product?
It is an extremely stable operating system and runs many of the servers in our company. The support is top-notch.
What do you dislike about the product?
RHEL currently has a quite large cost, which can be detrimental for some people. There is no standard edition for Red Hat. Linux like Windows and HP Red Hat tend to lag behind in terms of innovation compared to Oracle Solaris.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Highly recommended operating system We keep things simple, so any problems are usually caused by real bugs, and when we send reports, HR fixes them quickly. Highly recommended operating system

What do you like best about the product?
It's an open source utility with vast functionality, even any newbies are able to adapt the environment easily as they gets their hands on it. Along with secure environment, it also provide us to deploy our application and host it publicly.
What do you dislike about the product?
Though it doesn't provide a GUI to the user which is a set back as it lacks user friendly environment, but being a secure environment it overcomes all its disadvantages.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I have automated many Jobs through bash scripts which has lessened manual efforts.

What do you like best about the product?
1. Descriptive help and usage are available for commands and switches.
2. Easy access to a variety of tools using YUM.
3. Options to have multiple workspaces in graphical mode, it eradicates the need of having multiple displays attached to the computer.
4. Easy monitoring and management of system resources.
5. Multi-user logins on a single instance
6. It identifies a wide range of hardware and enables them with the generic drivers available.

2. ESR version of Firefox, which is a pain to update.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
RedHat Enterprise Linux is being used as an operating system on nodes of a Hadoop cluster, where the product is being developed, deployed and testing against huge quantities of data. Also, the RHEL VMs are being used as a development environment which eases out the need for individual development environment making the tasks of development hassle free.

Please keep the Linux spirit alive and don't let the bureaucrats take over.

What do you like best about the product?
Being a secure environment, make itself best amongst all other operating system. Easy to learn or easy to adapt. Once somebody get their hands on the black screen then it becomes the easiest environment to work upon
What do you dislike about the product?
Though GUI unavailability makes it little bit dull but moreover when it comes to security , this dullness can be ignored.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Daily operations in my workplace makes me more understandable of the applications. Created lot of shell script which cut the manual work and automatically sends me the report on my mail.

Its comes with native support for virtualization support so that you don't have to install any other virtualization tool. Its package management system YUM is ahead of it times. YUM really has powerfull package managment system which is really helpful for users. The installation steps of the Redhat Enterprise Linux is also straight forward and simple easy-to-install

I like the support we have. Their web site is great for finding solutions to problems.

I wish the support didn’t cost so much.

We have Red Hat running on our main multi-user system. We are using it for FEA, CFD, circuit analysis, typesetting, programming, and pretty much everything else.

What do you like best about the product?
Red Hat is not complicated and you reap the benefits of the platform, Linux, while using a standard OS. You have the option of a gui, if command line is not your thing.
What do you dislike about the product?
The support of the product can be frustrating when contacting technical support. Red Hat expects you to know the system, meanwhile you are calling them for support. Tech support can sometimes lead you in the wrong direction, not sure if this is lack of training or bad techs.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Lowering costs and standardizing on a well known platform. Integration with mainstream applications. Simple deployment and the tools to plan and secure the systems.

Take a look at another OS. Then compare it to Red Hat, you will be rewarded for your choice.
