Centralized Data with Powerful Insights, Better Onboarding for new users will help more
What do you like best about the product?
I appreciate how Hivel centralizes our data, providing everything in one convenient place, which allows my team to have a real-time view of engineering metrics. What stands out is how it helps us track what is on schedule and what is lagging, along with the reasons behind any delays, enabling us to make smarter, data-informed decisions. I absolutely love the AI features Hivel offers. The detailed data on the volume of AI-generated code we deliver is exceptionally insightful, and it has transformed our understanding of AI's role in our workflow. We initially presumed AI was just accelerating our coding process, but the data revealed the need for additional code quality supervision due to increased rework. Furthermore, Hivel facilitates better usage of AI models across our teams, allowing us to identify which tools fit best. This knowledge-sharing enhancement has driven us to conduct regular sessions where more experienced users elevate the proficiency of others, aiding in skill dissemination greatly. The seamless integration with existing tools like GitHub, JIRA, and Cursor also adds to its utility, streamlining our operations significantly. I find this integration essential because it allows Hivel to fit smoothly into our pre-existing infrastructure, minimizing disruptions as we adopt new insights and functionalities.
What do you dislike about the product?
I find the initial experience with Hivel to be overwhelming for new users. When I first got into the platform, it felt like there was a lot happening, with numerous metrics, graphs, and numbers everywhere. I didn’t know what to do and found myself constantly needing to go back to the person who handed it off to me for guidance. It would be beneficial to have an onboarding flow or prompts and suggestions to help new users or those returning after a few months to navigate the platform more easily.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I find Hivel centralizes data, providing real-time engineering metrics, which helps in making better data-backed decisions and improving knowledge sharing.
Insightful DORA Metrics and AI Adoption, Promising Start with Hivel
What do you like best about the product?
Hivel does a great job of extrapolating the DORA metrics, with the ability to really double-click into each of them for deeper insights. I also see strong value in the AI adoption capabilities—especially given that many companies are currently navigating AI transformation. Hivel’s approach can significantly help drive efficiency improvements across the board.
What do you dislike about the product?
While the platform is insightful, the user experience can feel a bit overwhelming at times due to the depth of available data. It might help to have more guided workflows or contextual cues, especially for first-time users, to make navigation and interpretation of metrics smoother.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Hivel is helping bridge the gap between operational metrics and actionable insights. By breaking down DORA metrics in a detailed and intuitive way, it enables teams to quickly identify areas that need attention—be it execution velocity, resourcing, or quality. This visibility helps us make more informed decisions, prioritize better, and ultimately improve team performance and efficiency.
Transforms Team Insights, Responsive Support
What do you like best about the product?
Hivel has made it so much easier to see what’s really happening across our engineering teams. The dashboards are clean, easy to use, and make sense straight away. I really value how it turns complex delivery data into something leadership can actually engage with, not just numbers, but a story about how teams are working. It’s changed how we talk about performance and flow, and the Hivel team have been genuinely responsive and open to feedback.
What do you dislike about the product?
When people rotate between teams, their data tends to follow them, which can throw off team-level reporting if you don’t spot it. It’s not a huge issue, but it does mean you need to double-check context before sharing results more widely. But Hivel have taken this feedback on board and are evolving the product with this feature.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Before, it was hard to connect metrics from different tools or explain delivery patterns clearly to leadership. Now we can see trends in cycle time, review habits, and team flow all in one place and use that data to have more constructive conversations about improvement. Overall, it’s turned what used to be scattered, technical data into actionable insight that drives better decisions and more focused discussions.

What do you dislike about the product?
Only wish it loaded faster on poor networks, as we move around a lot.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We’re no longer blind to what’s going on across squads. Cycle time dropped by almost 20% since we started using it.

We used to guess why sprints went off track. Hivel now shows us real data to adjust quickly. It’s saving us a ton of time.
Visibility across teams without the overhead
What do you like best about the product?
With 6 squads, I can compare how each team is doing across PR velocity, rework, and WIP. Super useful for our leads.
What do you dislike about the product?
An API could be useful to pull data directly into sheets.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Before Hivel we had to build dashboards from scratch. Now we get actionable metrics out of the box and save lots of time doing so.
