Highly Effective for Engineering Teams – Would Love Better JIRA Alignment
What do you like best about the product?
We’ve been using Hivel to boost our team’s developer velocity, and it’s made a noticeable impact. The Daily Activity and Dev360 views help us track day-to-day work, focus time, and overall contribution without needing constant follow-ups. It brings much-needed visibility, especially in remote or hybrid setups.
The Pull Request insights, along with the Cockpit dashboard and Investment Profile, have helped us identify bottlenecks in our delivery pipeline and track where time is being spent across initiatives. With built-in DORA and SPACE metrics, it becomes much easier for tech leads and managers to take data-driven decisions. Hivel has genuinely added value to our engineering workflows.

What do you dislike about the product?
One area of improvement could be around the Investment section — it would be great if it could better align with how different clients use JIRA. For example, supporting custom fields, and allowing DORA metrics, story points, and bug story points to be pulled based on specific JIRA projects or filters, would make this feature more powerful and customisable across teams and best to have based on Sprint Cycle.

They are Solving Engineering Productivity and Improving Developers Velocity
Excellent
What do you like best about the product?
It doesn’t try to do everything—and that’s a good thing. Hivel sticks to what matters and gives us clear metrics around PR velocity, rework, and bottlenecks.
What do you dislike about the product?
We hit a weird bug syncing a repo once, but support fixed it pretty fast.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We’ve identified two recurring delays in our review cycle we wouldn’t have seen otherwise.
Makes Team Contributions Visible and Meaningful
What do you like best about the product?
Hivel shines a light on the quiet contributors, the ones doing incredible work without always being in the spotlight. The platform helps give credit where it's due, and that goes a long way for team morale. I also really appreciate the smart notifications; they keep me updated on team activities and progress without having to constantly check in manually.
What do you dislike about the product?
While the overall experience is great, I wish the UI could be a bit more customizable. Sometimes the dashboard feels a bit rigid, and being able to tailor it more to individual preferences or workflows would make it even more powerful.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Hivel is solving the challenge of visibility and recognition in team contributions. Often, quieter team members or those working behind the scenes don’t get the recognition they deserve. Hivel helps surface their efforts by tracking engagement, speed, and overall contribution — which leads to better performance insights and more balanced team dynamics. It’s also reduced the need for constant manual check-ins by giving a clear picture of what’s happening across projects.
Hivel Helps Us Catch Issues Before They Escalate
What do you like best about the product?
Hivel gives me early insight into team dynamics, whether it's a slowdown, extended PR cycles, or increasing code churn. It’s about proactive visibility, not just postmortem analysis.
What do you dislike about the product?
As of now as such I don't find any drawback in Hivel. But I think there is a small learning curve associated.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Hivel helps me identify delivery risks early - like slowdowns or blockers - so I can step in mid-sprint and keep projects on track. It’s made course correction a real-time capability, not something we only do after the fact.
Optimising Developer processes
What do you like best about the product?
Hivel's user interface was easy to begin with. It tracks essential metrics such as PR, cycle times and review efficiency. Frequent check-ins from their team has also helped us clarify our usage related queries quickly and it involved a fairly quick setup.
What do you dislike about the product?
Would love to see more flexibility with custom reports for management
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It helps in not only understanding what the bottlenecks are but also helps us focus our time on much more important tasks. Streamlining processes, scheduling work are a couple of things which were definitely made easier.
Hivel helps a lot in our standups.
What do you like best about the product?
Hivel throws light onto our team's performance through various metrics and trends such as cycle time, review time, pickup delays.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing so far, everything is positive..
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I walk in with clear talking points, I know which PRs are stuck, where we need help, and who’s overloaded.
No more guesswork in engineering
What do you like best about the product?
Hivel cuts through the noise and gives me real, actionable data. From contributor-level metrics to org-wide trends, I finally have a dashboard that helps me do something.
Implementation was very easy and quick.
Implementation was very easy and quick.
What do you dislike about the product?
There were some issues initially but the Hivel team was very prompt and responsive in solving those issues quickly for the team.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Earlier, we relied on scattered tools and manual tracking to understand team activity. With Hivel, I can see how each repo, PR, and team is performing in real time.
All-in-one engineering view
What do you like best about the product?
Hivel connects our Git and Jira flows seamlessly and gives us visibility from the repo level to the org level. I also love how responsive the support team is.
What do you dislike about the product?
It helps us detect blockers, track KPIs without spreadsheets, and get a bird's eye view of engineering performance.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Hivel is solving the problem of scattered communication and lack of clarity in team collaboration.
Our standups got smoother and the tech team is able to deliver better and faster
What do you like best about the product?
We felt it was quite easy to setup hivel. the tech team was able to connect to Gitlab, Jira and slack. UI is really clean and simple.
We mostly use Hivel during our daily standups. It shows real-time updates on what each person is working on, how loaded the tech team is, and the overall project status. The dashboards make things really clear and help us stay on track. I personally like the Cockpit feature, it helps us by giving a quick overview of important metrics in one place, so we get to easily see if something’s off in the project.

What do you dislike about the product?
There is learning curve to it, new users might find the information provided by Hivel quite overwhelming but it gets comfortable once you get used to it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Hivel pulls in data from different tools and gives us one solid view of our engineering progress. It helps us figure out where things are stuck, manage team workload better, and deliver projects on time. The AI insights and DORA metrics are super useful as we get early warnings if something is slowing down, and we can track how quick we’re deploying or if anything breaks. It really helped us make better decisions and move faster as a team.
A Dev Intelligence Platform That Understands Engineering Teams
What do you like best about the product?
Hivel gives me visibility into engineering performance without adding more work for my team. The dashboard is clean, insightful, and actionable. It’s one of the few platforms that doesn’t feel like it’s just measuring lines of code or velocity—it actually helps us improve delivery outcomes.
What do you dislike about the product?
Hivel connects our development tools (GitHub, Jira, CI/CD pipelines, etc.) and converts the raw data into meaningful insights. It also tracks team-level metrics that reflect how work flows across planning to deployment, highlighting bottlenecks, delivery trends, and improvement areas.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Before Hivel, it was very hard to tell how well our engineering team was really doing or if we were on track with the company goals. Now it’s way easier to see what’s working and what’s not. I don’t have to type stuff in or use spreadsheets. Everything just shows up, super clear and in real-time.
