Relevant and super awesome hands on training. Not a snooze fest like other training products

What do you like best about the product?
I've used other training platforms before and honestly they were very boring. Content was just slides and videos. That may work for generic security training but I was looking for hands-on training. When I was searching for hands-on AppSec training, AppSecEngineer popped up and I was skeptical at first. But once I tried it and I was absolutely floored at the level of depth in this product. Best part is that everything is taught in labs and there is some supporting content on concepts in videos.

The Labs were very realistic. Dropped me into a VS Code env which is what my teams use. And then allowed for running full attacks and then build a defence all in code. My team absolutely loved this when I showed them my account and training experience in AppSecEngineer. It also gave me neat features on training rollout. They have thought out their training admin very well. I get to do quick roll outs of specific courses to different teams with across different functions and then track their progress in an easy reporting dashboard.

A very refreshing experience to training in AppSec that I have seen in a long time. Definitely going to be using it for myself and my team.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some of the courses are a bit long. But those are limited to AppSec intro or very advanced topics in the product. Most courses are quite small as they are focused on teaching a specific flaw for a specific language & framework.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am finally able to get training done across my teams. Before it was quite difficult to get folks to complete it due to boring content. With AppSecEngineer that problem is gone and they give new content quite regularly. Reporting and notifications make it even more easier to manage training for me. Helps me in my yearly audits quite a bit

Easy-to-Use, Practical AppSec Training

  • August 12, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I really enjoy how easy AppSecEngineer is to use. The courses are hands-on and practical, which helps me learn skills I can use right away. The short lessons make it simple to fit training into my daily routine, and the content is always up-to-date. The website is well-organized, so I can quickly find what I need. Plus, their support team is friendly and quick to respond when I have questions.
What do you dislike about the product?
At first, the number of courses felt a bit overwhelming, and it took me some time to decide which ones matched my goals.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
AppSecEngineer really solves a big problem for us—getting hands-on, role-specific, and up-to-date application security training. With most traditional training, you don’t get much of the practical side. But with their labs, we can actually practice in realistic environments without touching production systems. That’s made a huge difference—our team writes more secure code, we’ve seen fewer vulnerabilities, and our security maturity has jumped. Plus, because it’s on-demand, we can train our teams across different time zones without the scheduling nightmare

AppSecEngineer excels in having vast of interesting topcis which complements each other

What do you like best about the product?
Lots of different courses in different fields which makes me feel great about my security posture. In addition to that the customer service is great.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some videos are using AI sound which sounds wierd, I like human explanation more
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Currently the main problem is issues in validating some challenges solutions but the customer service / support are always supportive in this point and solve the problem

Hands-on labs made all the difference

  • August 11, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The labs are real environments where you actually learn stuff. It’s the first time security training felt like working on an actual project instead of watching slides. Everything maps directly to the tech stacks I use at work, so I could apply what I learned right away
What do you dislike about the product?
Some of the labs can be pretty advanced, so I had to rewatch a few sections to fully get them. It’s not a bad thing, but it means you need to set aside focused time instead of squeezing it in between tasks
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Before, most training I took was too generic or compliance-focused, so I didn’t like it. With AppSecEngineer, I’m getting hands-on practice in scenarios that match the systems I actually work on. It’s made me more confident in spotting and fixing security issues before they become problems.

Easy to use and implement for teams of any size. The platform offers hands-on labs, frequent updates, strong compliance support, and smooth integration with existing systems. Detailed analytics and responsive customer support make it easy to track progress and stay audit-ready.
What do you dislike about the product?
The wide range of features can be overwhelming for beginners, and some advanced labs could use more step-by-step guidance.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It bridges the gap between theory and practice with hands-on labs, helping us improve secure coding, meet compliance faster, and reduce vulnerabilities.

What do you like best about the product?
I think course has designed in a way that maps to the most of the job description in market for devsecops this will help you get into the interview process quickly because your resume selection is first round and you pass that quickly
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing as such I know its growing program and I would suggest them to do more and more research on competitors for similar security courses and build more program around security domains. I have bought it 5 months back around and they have added lots of topics post that
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
So basically, When you come from the GRC back ground which is more process orientated and you targeting something like DevSecOps or Application Security you need to work really hard as they are different domain and I am from non-coding background. This tool really helped me simplifying complex topics. They designed small video on each topic so you don't spent more time and learn the intended topic quickly. I would suggest taking help from ChatGPT also due to lot of jargons are unknown for you so to get things handy.

A new generation platform showing both attacks and remediations

  • April 10, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
To me, the strongest point of AppSecEngineer lies in its capacity to address both points of view : attackers and defenders. The amount of exercises is covering a wide range of vulnerabilities and corrections, and the diversity of programming languages makes it particularly appropriate for companies using multiple languages daily.

The platform also proposes different types of exercises (courses, journeys, challenges) which can fit almost any security profile, from beginners to advanced users.
What do you dislike about the product?
The platform is still young, so sometimes, you might encounter a small bug in the UI.
But this is clearly something they're working on as they tend to disappear.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
AppSecEngineer provides a platform to train employees at Application Security.
