Can be clunky at times and constantly changing so need to learn constantly.

What do you like best about the product?
Recorded Future is a platform providing comprehensive threat intel and coverage.
It has robust integration capabilities to send intel telemetry to most modern SIEMS.
Cross integration is simple with just API key/secret
The new identity detection module is incredible where Recorded Future can scan for identities compromised and creds leaked on the dark web.
The customizable dashboards and telemetry options make it easy for leadership to get the KPIs/KRIs they need.

The platform does not provide alot of automation options.

Recorded Future currently provides us with threat intel related to our industry.
We recently acquired licensing for the identity monitoring module which also provides us insight into leaked credentials for any of our own and our customer identities for our platforms.

Insightful Threat Intelligence, But Identity Module Needs Refinement
What do you like best about the product?
I like using Recorded Future for its unique way of allowing my organization to understand what our PIR malware families may be, further allowing us to understand the MITRE TTPs leveraged by them
What do you dislike about the product?
The Recorded Future Identity module to date has provided my organization with approximately "8000" compromised credentials, with only 11 of them actually being colleagues. We have set the password complexity and naming schema and still it provides alot of noise.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are starting to use it for our Microsoft Patch Tuesday reporting with fairly effective results as this could streamline the process that we are currently doing manually.

I find Recorded Future incredibly easy to set up, which streamlines my workflow significantly. Its ability to save me time and deliver more accurate results is invaluable for enhancing our processes. The threat intelligence module is essential for our needs, seamlessly integrating to optimize our defense strategy. By using the platform alongside our in-house systems, we achieve faster and more precise results. This efficiency and the platform's steadfast reliability make it indispensable for our operations.

One drawback of Recorded Future is that it requires learning and adapting to a new tool.

The possibilities it opens for improving security posture and the shift in defensive approaches helps improve security as a whole.

The lag seen in the scoring of indicators and the lack of intel on some assets and indicators that require some flagging from the customer side.

- Sometimes the data displayed comes out to be false positive & just something meaningless

Powerful/Resourceful Threat Intelligence Platform with Real-Time Insights
What do you like best about the product?
Recorded Future delivers real-time threat intelligence that integrates smoothly into our security workflows. I especially appreciate the Interactive Sandbox, and the ease of implementation of the Advanced Query Builder, and the platform’s ability to gather intelligence from the dark web — all of which make threat analysis faster and more insightful.
The integration with Anomaly was seamless in our case, and I use the platform daily as a core part of my work.
Also, a big shoutout to our point of contact, John Percic, who is always responsive and helpful whenever we have questions or need guidance.

What do you dislike about the product?
There are a few areas where the tool could improve. Sometimes, domain-related data is missing from Playbook alerts during ingestion, which is critical since such domains are often linked to organizational fraud. Additionally, the Identity module doesn’t always trigger alerts at the time of a breach, which delays response. In some cases, we’ve also noticed that the threat intelligence data appears slightly delayed compared to other tools we’ve used.

Recorded Future helps us detect and respond to threats more effectively. It identifies impersonating domains and logo misuse, which are often used in fraud attempts, helping us take action before damage occurs. The platform also monitors for identity breaches, giving us visibility into compromised credentials. These capabilities, along with dark web intelligence and real-time alerts, significantly strengthen our organization’s threat detection and response efforts.
