Read the fine print

What do you like best about the product?
The forms were easy to create but not visualling appealing.
What do you dislike about the product?
Make sure you read the fine print and know what every feature really means. Some of the features are misleading. I made some assumptions which ended up being very costly for me. For example, the product I subscribed to indicated automation. There is no automation unless you upgrade. Automation means manually going in and scheduling what you want and when you want it sent. You can go in and schedule an email to go out to a list, but that is it. There are no other automation options available. As a small business, I need better automation features, so I don't have to go in each time I get a new person on my list and make sure they receive all my materials and information. This is too time-consuming.
We also asked about canceling our subscription, and we read their website. But we still went in and asked. So, when we contacted their help, they inferred that we could cancel the subscription, including future payments. This was misleading and not true. They will continue to take money out of my account for the end of the subscription. I will pay for it because I subscribed, and I will use their extremely limited features available to me. But I would not recommend it for any small business. We now use ActiveCampaign, which has more usable features, especially for a small business.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Make sure you read the fine print and don't subscribe until you are positive the program is what you need.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Make sure you know what each feature consists of.

All your website in one place. Finally!

What do you like best about the product?
I got everything website-related in one place, connected to all my Hubspot functionality without me having to grind on maintenance; It allows my website to be a marketing tool and a marketing tool only. Bye bye website shaped headaches.
What do you dislike about the product?
It would be great if there was a free version, even if it was uber basic. That's because as a beginner I need time to build the thing, tweak it out, etc. The starting price tag is low, but for entrepreneurs who are barely getting started it might be a deterrent.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
From a website that took 6 months to build to building an entire website in a month and have it up and running in 6 weeks, using themes in Hubspot CMS is changing how I do business. Way more profitable for me and my clients, more quick wins, and therefore more upselling opportunities. Win-win-win x10
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Start simple.
Your website doesn't need to be fancy right off the bat. It needs to be functional.
Make it functional first, and then instead of focusing on fanciness, which you can definitely build here, you can focus on features that are relevant to your objectives. This keeps your wallet healthy and your projects working.

Oh no, our CMS, it's broken!

What do you like best about the product?
The HubSpot support and the forums are extraordinarily beneficial. I can find answers to almost everything, and when I can't, HubBot helps, and I get a phone call from a support engineer in 5 minutes or fewer.
What do you dislike about the product?
There's so much to navigate that it can seem overwhelming to someone new to HubSpot. While that isn't the case for me, that could be a slight negative for someone without HubSpot experience.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
My company has been able to disassociate with multiple external services that HubSpot provides either for free or with a HubSpot premium service. Being able to have everything all in one place, and being able to show my team how to access what they need, has been an indespensible part of our sales and marketing initiatives.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Utilize the tools and people available to you. It can be challenging switching to a new CMS when you're used to something different, but HubSpot is so user-friendly, and their support is top-notch. I've resolved a few issues with their support team; they've been nothing but a delight.

The HubSpot CMS is the ideal website builder for businesses and has a shallow learning curve

  • December 15, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The flexibility of the design and development tools allows businesses to create modules specific to their needs; combined with HubDB and server caching, the HubSpot CMS challenges the status quo of bloated and sluggish CMS tools, making it the consummate business-first CMS and the one to be reckoned with. I've recently embarked on redeveloping our site again using HubSpot and I'm astonished by how far it has come and what new features are available in just over a year!
What do you dislike about the product?
I'm going to have to be specific:
1. I get frustrated that I can't simply clone standard modules to global modules.
2. I love that I can save website sections, but it would be great if this was not capped at 20. Also, if there was a better library tool to manage these sections, something like that of the Divi builder in WordPress, that would be helpful, with options to make them global too.
3. I get frustrated that I can't easily add filters and color overlays/gradients to background images in the builder to main sections (this is something I'd have to develop myself)
4. I always find copying over text, even plain text, from Google docs gives me formatting issues. I often have to go in after the marketing team to make style edits.
5. Refreshing cache, sometimes content takes too long to update. I prefer to reupload images/files with a different name then update an exisiting one because it sometimes takes too long to reflect.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Creating and managing listing pages as never been easier using HubDB. I've also used dynamic pages with HubDB for our product updates and its been an absolute winner. I've been able to build out a singular pricing page which displays content specific to GEO IP which can then also be changed based on user selection. I've created lisiting page modules which auto generate filters that users can use to browse. I was able to build a Christmas treasure hunt on our website which links to user data in the CRM to track how many reindeers have been found - we've generated a number of leads from this. I was recently asked to create new email signatures for my company, I was able to upload everyones details to HubDB and generate the signatures automatically on a password protected webpage where they could easily be copied by staff with a single click. What I've realised is just how scalable HubSpot CMS is, it gives developers the room to scratch at the surface level of industry standard website design, but also allows designers and developers to dig as deep as they want in creating truly remarkable and innovative sites.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
The HubSpot CMS is a powerful tool. Before implementing, I'd recommend spending a bit of time understanding the functionality of the builder and design tools. We rushed through our initial rollout (even then, our website won an award). But now that I've been reiterating and redeveloping the site, I'm beginning to realize that more than often, if something seems too difficult to implement with the HubSpot CMS, it's because I'm doing it incorrectly. There generally is a tool or bit of functionality built into the builder, which would solve the problem at hand far quicker than doing it manually. I would advise having someone on your team with a bit of development and CMS experience to utilize the HubSpot CMS and all of its capabilities to its fullness. I'd also recommend doing the tutorials and browsing through some online resources; digging deeper and a bit of learning will reveal just how powerful the HubSpot CMS can be.

Love what they are doing with CMS Hub, still a bit buggy but the vision is great

What do you like best about the product?
The fact that this exists is what I like best--that HubSpot offers truly end-to-end marketing in a simple platform--the ability to personalize web pages and experiences using my Hubspot marketing data. I have some gripes but please don't get me wrong, this is a game changing option for marketers at small to medium sized enterprises--enabling fast, cheap and easy web redesigns of formerly difficult to use WordPress sites. Creating forms that are integrated with your marketing automation engine, integrated with your webinar program...it is incredible.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't take for granted that CMS systems like this that require very little, if any, developer involvement are completely changing the game. I created a new website for my client in less than a week (I'm a demand gen marketer - not a designer, developer or other technical web specialist). I have also created sites on Wix for smaller businesses and used WordPress (with developer help) in the past. The user experience is good but not quite as good as Wix. I hope they take a good look at what Wix offers, the ease of use, simple and AMPLE design options--and try to do the same for CMS Hub. I would have given a 9/10 but I've had minor annoying SEO issues caused by the code creating duplicate pages which is hurting our SEO audit scores. I don't know yet if it is an issue with the paid template we used.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Problems solved include marketing needing to work with designers and developers to make web changes in the past. Now we can make changes in real-time in minutes. The CMS Hub is user friendly and solving SEO issues was easy (with the exception of a few outstanding things I'm troubleshooting with the HubSpot team). We've created new content easily and are using all the features of CMS Hub and Hubspot overall to automate much of the sales and marketing process. Launching chat with a click of the button was another favorite feature, and the fact that it is integrated so our sales team isn't using another portal to manage the chat conversations.

Relevantly simple to follow documentation and configure without developer involvement

What do you like best about the product?
Template search and optimization suggestion engine
What do you dislike about the product?
Dislike that there is no middle ground for businesses which are just above small size, need to purchase some additional modules where the base product is expensive, to begin with, at least for us.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The marketing department can manage without dev department involvement. Basic CSS skills are sufficient.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Consider headless CMS for custom solutions

Easy to use

What do you like best about the product?
Not being someone who can code etc. the CMS makes updating the website very easy. When migrating our website over, the team were great and our website is better functioning now.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes there are things that you need support at HubSpot to help with.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Easy to create new web pages
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Take time to learn the platform before diving in

Nice and Powerful Marketing tool

What do you like best about the product?
I like this is an all-in-one platform for marketing, sales, and customer support, all in one place. You can do automated tasks, like workflows to create customer lists and also sending emails depending of many variables you can collect from the forms.
What do you dislike about the product?
Page templates can be kind of difficult to program with the different variables. Not a good responsive design by default so I suggest to use a CSS responsive framework for developing your pages.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are making a lot of customers engagement and also creating list of customers to offer different sales and offers. We are using workflows, customer tracking, automated emails and developing web pages and landing pages.
