Decent learning platform
What do you like best about the product?
Being able to post assignments, news, and even have students take auto-graded quizzes all in the same place as the gradebook is so helpful!
What do you dislike about the product?
NEO can be glitchy at times, and I don't like that teachers can't collaborate on test banks. Teachers at my school would like to be able to all work on adding/editing questions in test banks that we can all use, but we are not (yet?) able to do this on NEO. There are a few features like this that could be better set up to foster teacher collaboration.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Problems solved: needing an organized space for students to find ALL course materials and resources
Benefits: Time-saving features like saving certain text as templates to be inserted into other assignments can be so helpful! I also love being able to sync courses when I have multiple class periods that need the same materials.

NEO Review
What do you like best about the product?
Seeing my student's progress in one place.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some features are not intuitive. For example, if I create an assignment as an offline assignment then change my mind and want it as a dropbox assignment, I can't just change the assignment type. I have to create a brand new assignment.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Parents can see their student's progress in real time. Students, teachers, and families can literally be on "the same page" when it comes to knowing how students are doing.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Take some time to familiarize yourself with the features and assignment symbols before expecting students to use the platform.
NEO is an amazing platform for my school!
What do you like best about the product?
I love the ability to reach out to parents and students through NEO, set up rubrics on assignments, and give feedback right on the platform. NEO saves a lot of data and my resources year by year, making it easy for me
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes it can be hard to configure the grading the way you want it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I have no problems!
Neo Review
What do you like best about the product?
Grading on one platform that is live for students
What do you dislike about the product?
How students cannot upload images and resize them all at once
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I have been sending in tickets whenever I can!!!
Keep looking!!
What do you like best about the product?
I can't really say *anything I liked best about NEO. The system is inefficient and not user friendly. I wanted to like it after sitting through training but it just doesn't work as promised.
What do you dislike about the product?
Everything. From classes not being listed in any certain order to it just being basic user UNfriendly. It's hard to maneuver, didn't show due dates on assignments; difficult to log on to; times you out; very UNseamless connection to google drive; app frequently didn't work. Assignments would not post correctly. Essentially, all parts of it are horrid. Students hated it just as much.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Really? NONE. I solved NO problems with NEO; it just made all the students angry. NO benefits. NEO was promised as something that was seamless with Google Drive and would make everything easier and was better than Google Classroom. This was not the case.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I would keep looking. What should be easy processes are frequently convoluted. It's not seamless with Google Drive as promised so that's a big problem. The organization is also very strange. Things are not in any kind of order so it makes things hard to find.
Good for the basics!
What do you like best about the product?
NEO is easy for students to navigate. The NEO support team is very responsive to requests for help. Users are regularly notified of new features.
What do you dislike about the product?
I want more ability to control grading features. For example, I would like to set an assignment marked as missing not to affect a student's grade.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I like that I am able to send messages to all students in my class at once. NEO allowed me to create an organized online space for students to keep track of their assignments during remote instruction. NEO makes grading transparent and allows students to check their grades anytime with their parents.
School LMS
What do you like best about the product?
Ease of use, ability to have calendar, assignments, and resources.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not fully integrated into Google Classroom
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Differentiated and randomized tests. Hybrid education
The most complete and simple to use LMS
What do you like best about the product?
All the necessary features for an LMS and very simple to use.
What do you dislike about the product?
The price of the corporate version (Matrix)
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Easy and quick setup. Simple to use learning. Training support. Open API integration. Skill management and customizable gamification module.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I recommend NEO LMS because is a full featrure LMS, easy to use, with differentials that only it has among the several other platforms that I tested.
Avoid Cypher Learning / Matrix LMS
What do you like best about the product?
After being with them for 3 years there's not really much to like.
We're currently migrating away from Matrix because the list of frustrations has continued to grow longer and longer and nobody at the company cares.

What do you dislike about the product?
Customer support
Management/Executive team
Price doubling since we've been onboard
Outdated UI
Our students find platform not user friendly
Lots and lots of bugs - they try to add so many features that they cannot stay on top of resolving the bugs.
And more...
Overall Matrix is a feature-focused LMS. All they care about is having the most extensive list of features - more than any other LMS. If they've done this then they've succeeded as having the best LMS in their minds. Unfortunately this drive for only features leaves the clients feedback and requirements unheard. This has resulted in many frustrations with their platform from having to work inside of constraints and quirks that they refuse to acknowledge or address.
Additionally, they pretend to be such a large organization with 12 offices all over the world. However upon searching these addresses appear to be nothing more than virtual offices and in our 3 years of working with them it is always the same 5-8 people who handle all requests from sales, to product development, apps and customizations. Many times communication with these individuals is completely ignored and not responded to from their end.
Also, upon using tools like BuiltWith.com and looking at which apps on the iOS and Google Play store are actually using their platform and mobile apps there are very few companies that can actually be found that are utilizing it. Are they pretending to be larger than what they actually are?
You invest all the time needing to learn the complexities of their platform and build out your program only to find once you have everything built out they raise the price again and again. So you are locked in paying increasingly higher prices.
We're honestly fed up with the way they do business and are investing heavily in building our own platform which we will be migrating to soon.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Matrix helped us scale to a certain point because they're platform is powerful and is hosted on Amazon which allows for a large number of students all on the platform at the same time.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you're simply coming to Matrix for its list of features there are other powerful enterprise level LMS's out there. Or a very comprehensive, low cost LMS is LearnDash. It can be built out with many of the same features and honestly can be much more powerful in a lot of ways. With the right hosting and setup it can work for enterprise and there's not a monthly or per user fee.
