    Financial Services

Comprehensive for the right needs

  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
User interface for students is comprehensive. Liked that it was able to accept scorm filea and provide detailed engagement stats.
What do you dislike about the product?
Administration functions are difficult to find until you get used it them. Not intuitive.

It's also expensive for small organizations.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Used for our financial students in a professional Ed course.

We were able to integrate with our certificate program to validate results.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Understand your integration requirements because you may need the API. Minimally zapier. This is if you want to create automated emails based on user activity.

Look Elsewhere

What do you like best about the product?
It was very affordable when we originally signed up a few years ago, but the price has since more than doubled.
Has some nice customizations and intigrations.
They do seem to release features somewhat frequintly (its how they justify the price increases)
What do you dislike about the product?
The GUI is dated.
Support is only handled through their forum.
Reporting is a nightmare.
The API could be way more useful.
The Common Cartridge format they choose is not all that common, despite them saying it's an "industry standard."
The UX is clunky and not really intuitive at all.
The course creator tool leaves a lot to be desired.
Price has more than doubled since we signed on.
Their documentation needs improvement and needs to be more easily accessible, like a dedicated page, not some popup inside the service...
Their XAPI features are lackluster and difficult to implement.

We're actually in the process of migrating away from Matrix.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We were looking for an affordable LMS to get our staff training off the ground. It's no longer worth the price tag, there are better options out there.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Get a demo, and try before you buy.

Using Matrix saved us through the pandemic

  • April 12, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like the look and feel of Matrix, lots of features but not too intimidating.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't necessarily like how the bulk upload works. I also wish that their reporting functions were a little easier to understand and process. Outside of the template reports, I find it out to get the info I want the way that I want it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Like the rest of the world, Matrix helped us to be able to continue training our corporate partners through the Coronavirus pandemic. Lucky for us, we had just implemented the solution at the right time. Our classes continued with little issues.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I think that Matrix is a good system to use as your learning management system. It's good for both beginners and experts.

What do you like best about the product?
The user interface is easy to navigate and easy to direct students to the appropriate areas
What do you dislike about the product?
Grading could be better, as well as the word processing within the messaging system. Grading, it would be nice to have the ability to download all the assignments at the same time.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
we needed a LMS that was mobile friendly, and had a better graphic interface. Video hosting seems to be better as well.

Matrix Review g

  • April 12, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It is able to house a vast library of information lots of storage space and a content library for adding the same resources to multiple courses. Learner access constraints. Matrix LMS is a great entry into corporate learning platform approaches. For the type of LMS, there truly are a great variety of features. Automation also played a major role in our consideration of this product.
What do you dislike about the product?
It at times can be challenging to navigate I believe that integration and import and export functions may be more wide and open. Integration with other software would be more usefully

Some issues embedding videos, but the support forum is a big help with this.

For those seeking high levels of accessibility functionality, Matrix LMS is a good solution with the need to be careful as with any tech as to what content is loaded/designed to support accessibility.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use this training portal in my day-to-day work for an insurance broker that has to have over 2,000 sales staff fully trained. The portal allows me to easily create organizations, classes, lessons, modules, and students and combine them all to create structured learning that is easy to track, easy to report on and all for an affordable monthly cost. The support forum is a great place to raise any issues and there's always someone available to answer any questions I have. It's not perfect and is still improving each month, but it allows me to do my job more efficiently and does a lot of heavy lifting that I would otherwise have to do with spreadsheets and time that I don't have.

1) Training aids will get you started but you have to spend a great deal of time, and trial and error in learning to manage your LMS, build courses, etc. 2) I lost some completion data records where there should of been a hard stop warning that this could happen before I made the change. 3) There is no weekend tech support which I would likely use only occasionally. 4) I can't configure slides to move horizontally in a single slide click-through fashion. Rather, I have to either load them individually or leave it as a vertical scroll-through of the entire deck.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Immediate feedback to students with points and grades
Recommendations to others considering the product:

NEO has been an invaluable educational platform for students and myself

  • February 24, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Ability to flip a great variety of lessons while incorporating assessment features. Also provides very efficient communication with students & parents via NEO Messages.
What do you dislike about the product?
I haven’t been able to successfully use Google Assignments - perhaps a better interface/tutorial for both ends would help.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
A great way to develop flexible Units with assignments that can be linked in specific sequences and even gamified. Probably the biggest breakthrough for NEO in my instruction is the shift to a more paperless system - not dragging home grimy, hard-to-read work. NEO also allows for great transparency in grades for students and their parents to monitor their own progress in real time.
