Rapid App Development with AI Integration
What do you like best about the product?
I appreciate ToolJet for its ability to significantly expedite application development with its declarative approach, allowing us to build applications more quickly than traditional methods. The AI feature is my personal favorite aspect, as it eliminates the need even for declarative drag-and-drop processes by simply responding to prompts effectively to develop the applications. This feature enables me to focus more time on understanding client requirements, ensuring we deliver projects faster and thereby drive more revenue. I also find the integration with Google Sheets and databases useful for efficient data fetching and saving, which streamlines our workflow further. The ease of the initial setup was notable, and overall, ToolJet makes the application development side less burdensome and more efficient, making it an integral part of our process.
What do you dislike about the product?
I find that the AI feature in ToolJet sometimes does not implement exactly what I prompt it to, which can be frustrating when I need precise results. Additionally, when trying to make precise customizations, ToolJet lacks the functionality that would allow me to do this effectively. It seems that the AI could benefit from a deeper understanding of my requirements and more context before applying changes.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use ToolJet to build applications quickly with a declarative approach, reducing development load. Its AI enhances productivity by allowing rapid development, enabling me to focus on client communication and faster project delivery, boosting revenue.
The Most Complete Low-Code Tool for Building Web App Interfaces
What do you like best about the product?
Although I am not a professional coder, I have gradually taught myself how to write code over the years. I support a non-profit organization and have developed a suite of tools to handle several of its functions—something I could never have accomplished without ToolJet. The platform connects effortlessly to a MySQL database, allowing me to turn an idea into a working, multi-function tool within just a few hours. I can continue to expand and refine the interface even as my users start using it. Building such an interface from scratch would have been out of reach for me, but ToolJet made the process straightforward. The Slack channel is excellent, and both the company and its user community are extremely responsive and helpful.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's difficult for me to find anything I truly dislike about ToolJet. However, one area that could use improvement is the alignment and placement of components. Having tools that allow components to snap into place would help automate the process of creating a neat and organized UI. While I'm not certain, I suspect this feature may be added in the future, as the team consistently works to enhance usability.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I have been using ToolJet for four years. Initially, I created a MySQL database to manage membership for my organization, which holds weekly activities requiring sign-ups for several dozen tasks. My first project was to automate one of these activities, allowing around 50 users to register with ToolJet for privacy and logging purposes. Each week, they could log in and select one or more activities for the upcoming quarter. By integrating an external email loop, I made it possible for coordinators to assign people to tasks, for users to choose their preferred tasks, and for notifications, reminders, and confirmations to be sent out. Both users and coordinators benefited from built-in analytics. More recently, I developed a member management interface and a leadership interface that oversees about 20 committees, including their leaders, terms, and committee members. The range of features I was able to implement without any formal training has impressed several experienced software professionals on our tech oversight committee. These tools have significantly streamlined our operations and fostered more effective volunteer participation.
My Experience with ToolJet AI
What do you like best about the product?
I like that ToolJet is very easy to use and beginner-friendly. The interface is clean and simple, so I don’t need to spend much time learning it. I can connect multiple data sources, create dashboards, forms, and internal tools quickly without heavy coding. It saves a lot of time, reduces dependency on developers for small changes, and helps me focus on solving business problems rather than dealing with technical complexities.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes ToolJet can feel a bit slow when loading large data or complex workflows. A few features are not very intuitive at first, and it takes a little time to understand advanced options. Compared to some other tools, certain features are limited, like complex logic for automation. But overall, these issues are minor and don’t affect my daily usage much.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
ToolJet helps me build internal tools and dashboards without relying heavily on developers. Before, small changes or new tools required coding and extra resources, which was time-consuming and expensive. Now, I can quickly connect databases, create dashboards, automate simple workflows, and visualize data easily. This has saved a lot of time, reduced errors, and improved productivity in my work.
Good tool but needs to be more stable and flexible
What do you like best about the product?
It’s quick to build internal tools without much coding. The drag-and-drop builder is easy to use, and connecting to APIs or databases is fast. I like that it’s open-source, so we can customize it if needed. The community is active and helpful.
What do you dislike about the product?
Performance can be inconsistent, especially with large datasets or complex queries. Some features feel incomplete or lack polish, requiring workarounds. For example, in our case:
1.Dynamic dropdowns were hard to set up because we couldn’t easily use variables.
2.Complex json needed extra JS instead of built-in support.
3.Sometimes data bindings between components broke after we edited them.
4.Queries didn’t always refresh on their own, so we had to run them manually.
5.Error messages were not clear, so debugging was harder. The docs are okay for basics but don’t explain advanced things well.
6. In some places, ToolJet lets us use Python for queries, but in other cases it’s not supported, so we have to switch to JavaScript. For JavaScript, only part of the language is supported, so some functions we normally use don’t work, and we have to find workarounds.
7. Not flexible

Tooljet helps us build internal tools much faster without needing to write everything from scratch.
We can connect to APIs, databases, and other services in minutes and quickly create dashboards, admin panels, or data review tools. This saves a lot of development time and lets non-developers also work on building features. It’s especially useful for testing ideas quickly and making small changes without going through a full development cycle.
