Solid monitoring tool with many options and out of the box supported compatability.
What do you like best about the product?
Most of our hardware and software can be monitored out of the box without much setup. CheckMK monitors every minute (default) . You have a very long history of data and it does it all without using a lot of performance.
What do you dislike about the product?
Though I do really like learning and working with Linux, as a noob Linux can be a bit tricky.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Giving us great insights in performance of SQL, Windows, Linux, VMware, Veeam, IPMI, Fortigate and Fortiweb.
Custom powershell scripts to show custom outputs of query's on our SQL servers for monthly reporting.

Great Monitoring Software
What do you like best about the product?
Easy-to-setup monitoring software with excellent customer support and a vibrant community forum. Implementation is straightforward—just install the client, and most host metrics are transmitted automatically. Use it daily for monitoring critical systems and consulting logs when errors occur. It also offers seamless integration with Grafana for creating even more advanced dashboards.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some features, like client auto-updates, are locked behind the Enterprise tier or higher and are not available in the Raw/open-source version
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
All metrics and logs centralized in one location.
Checkmk - is a great product to find network errors, like interface crc errors and more
What do you like best about the product?
I really like Checkmk to make sure that our infrastructure - servers and network equipment is running like it should be - I won't miss Checkmk! Checkmk is very easy to implement!
What do you dislike about the product?
There are no dislike's at the moment - Checkmk is just a great tool!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I give's us an overview to see if everything is running as it should be. And we will get warnings when error's come up.
Monitoring with checkmk is very easy and intuitive.
What do you like best about the product?
The installation and updates are quite easy, even the major updates are a fairly quick process. It is very easy to monitor all types of servers, whether with an agent or with SNMP, special agent, etc. There are many integrations with other tools that facilitate either the import of metrics (for example, Prometheus) or the export of metrics (for example, InfluxDB+Grafana).
What do you dislike about the product?
One thing I didn't like was that in version 2.2, the integration of Openshift was not included since it was only available for the cloud version. But I have seen that for 2.3 it will be available. I mention it simply so you know that we are currently on 2.2 and cannot monitor our Openshift clusters, and our client was a bit upset about the issue since it was announced (without nuances) that Openshift would be supported in version 2.2.
Only for custom graph, I think the graphs could be improved to be more visual like they are in Grafana and to be dynamic. For example, if you make a custom graph of the CPU of several servers, you can click on a server and only show its graph or click on several and show multiple.

With a single product, you can monitor practically the entire company's infrastructure. You can even have an updated inventory if you include the mk_inventory plugin.
Great monitoring software based on nagios for the RAW edition
What do you like best about the product?
I like that the RAW edition is open source and without limitation of any kind. We have been able to deploy it at work for a fair number of hosts without problem. There is an API that allow automation which is great and an ansible collection is also available. We have used it to automate the installation of the agent and plugins on hosts to monitor, to add them to checkmk and also to update the agent after checkmk has been upgraded. The different integrations for notifications are also a good point for us.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometime, there are bugs after some upgrades but they are fixed fairly quickly on the next updates. Because of the great flexibility of the software, configuring it can sometimes be cumbersome.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
checkmk allow us to keep an eye on our hardware and virtual machines as well as our customers websites, databases, containers, etc.
We can spot and solve issues quickly before greater problems arrose. It allows us to be proactive in the systems monitoring field.

Great product
What do you like best about the product?
The user interface, general ease of use, a lot of features, good basic-mid documentations, very useful video examples (please make more!)
What do you dislike about the product?
The documentation only covers the basics-middle of the product, advanced functionalities are only partially present in the documentation, it needs more advanced examples for complex scenarios or advanced functionalities
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Have the view of all the systems and how they behave
Very helpfull and much more efficient than many others on the market.
What do you like best about the product?
Checkmk is for me, the best equipment monitoring system so far. I have tested several others but Checkmk is really the best out there. Agent for Windows, Linux, Solaris etc. SNMP monitoring. The amount of resut provider by SNMP is amazing.
The product is afordable, even for mid size business. I am using the enterprise version and we can monitor more then 500 hosts (VM, switches, antennas, printers, vcenter, firewalls, MS entra)

What do you dislike about the product?
The documentation is not always easy to understand. Support is answering the questions.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Multisite is not easy to manage. We are not eanought IT pro to be on every sites. So Checkmk is monitoring all our equipments on every site like that we know when a problem occurs.
Monitoring printers and multifunction remotely is very convenient to be pro active.
The monitoring of the Vcenter is just amazing. You get all the details from all your vms, the snapshots, the vmotion, ressources, etc.
Monitoring of the VMs is also amazing, the system recognise many existing databases or services.
Switching monitoring is also very impressive, specially with Cisco equipment. Many components are already know by the system.
The system provide an autoupdate of the agent itself with agent signing and trafic over https. To get the autoupdate working, each host must be manually registered with Checkmk credentials to avoid any one to register rogue equiment.

Great Monitoring-Tool with nearly endless posibilities
What do you like best about the product?
- Licensind Costs are cheaper than other tools
- Most parts of the code are open source and can be easily modified on file-system level to further customize or add features you eed
- REST API allows a lot of automation and integration of different tools built-in or custom extendable (like "in case of problm, create TIcket in tool *insert toolname*)
- (in my oppinion) user friendly with a great documentation
- Easy setup
- Nice additional (third party tool) Nagstamon (also available for different other monitoring tools)
- Great Community and friendly support

What do you dislike about the product?
Currently Checkmk does not support propper application monitoring, we need an APM tool (Instana) in addition
Events from other tools (like mentioned Instana) have only limited posibilities so send their information/events to checkmk. Yes, there is the so called "Event Console" but it only supports syslog and SNMP Trap

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
In addition to "common" monitoring, Checkmk allows us to creat (graphical) dependency-Models of our Business Applications. In case of problems or even to simulate "server down" we can see with these "Business Intelligence"-Models which of our applications are affected by taking down for example a special database server
Furthermore, with the help of the REST API we were able to create a very simple website where different manager can see the overall status of our applications without the need of Checkmk login.

Efficient service monitoring system, easy to use, with a long list of integrations and great support
What do you like best about the product?
Support, powerful tool, easy to use, broad set of integrations
What do you dislike about the product?
User interafce sometime needs improvements
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Keep my services and hosts up and in good health
Excellent tool for your infrastructure
What do you like best about the product?
Checkmk allows you to aggregate metrics, measurements and statuses for all your infrastructure. Be it applications to hardware to network. This tool can give you the observability you need to keep unintended downtime and resource usage to a minimum
What do you dislike about the product?
while the tool can store logs from services, its not the best at making them searchable
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It makes us aware of issues well before we notice them ourselves, thus and allows us to triage the problem quicker
