Enterprise edition is WAY faster when using a lot of SNMP checks

Best I like the huge amount of plugins and the very helpfull community.

The recommandations for using the appliance in context how many cpu/ram I need having a amount of certain services/hosts is/was hard to find in the documentation - for me. :-)

A huge benefit is the proactive monitoring.

Everything is customisable, you can almost monitor everything, German developers, living community

Some missing features, too less inventory views, some missing snmp plugins

We like the easy GUI, distributed monitoring concept and the constant feature updates based on community upvotes.

Cloud monitoring was limited for a while but it has been addressed.

With checkmk our proactivity has grown a lot allowing us to have less unplanned outages.

It's an easy solution to install and then to maintain.
Configuration is all in the UI which make very easy to setup.
If you can't find the plugin you want, just write it as it's quite simple with python and the doc.
There is a strong community both on the forums and the open source code side. If you decide to go with the paid edition, it's not expensive as the competitors.

What do you dislike about the product?
When you go into the solution for the first time you have to adapt to the rules logic which can be hard at times.
Also with upgrades you sometimes have to redo what you did because a new better way of things got released.
It can take time for them to fix issues if you didn't pick paid support.

Check mk allow you to monitor your network, servers, ac, pdu... but with plugins you can basically monitor everything you like : your gazmeters, a web page, a webcam...

Broad support of OSes hardware and other equipment
What do you dislike about the product?
A lot of red services after discovery. Especially when monitoring MS Windows servers.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I can immediately tell whether I have a problem or it is the client's vault when people complaining :)

Excelent tool for who is starting and for who have experience! I've been using it for years.
What do you like best about the product?
It's fast and easy to deploy. I started without any training or support. The docs are very clear and it's easy to find content about it. The documentation really improved from last year with more examples.
What do you dislike about the product?
There's no Brazilian Portuguese support yet.
