What do you dislike about the product?
There is not much negative I can tell. Tuning Checkmk performance, especially in a distributed setup, can be somewhat tricky.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Checkmk comes with a bunch of pre-defined Hardware, Software, Application checks it supports. All our SAP and MSSQL Database servers, Vmware ESXi hosts, Mid-range Storage Systems as well as Network devices (Switches, Firewalls, Routers, WLAN-Controllers) and Media devices (mostly monitored via SNMP) can be seamlessly monitored. Most of the services and metrics are discovered automatically. Warning / Critical thresholds are automatically set at reasonable defauts. This saves a lot of time for manual configuration.

Monitor about 3500 Windows Server
I monitor many middle size sites in KRITIS environment. It works fine in this special situation

The possibility to improve the functionality with plugins. scalable over multi customers.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing until now. All works fine in our systems. sometimes the documentation of api's.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
we have only customers which have no stable remote connection. with a special implementation we have the issues central and no need to go onsite remotly.

What do you like best about the product?
CheckMK is the most powerfull enterprise monitoring. Useable for little usecases up to high end. It's customizeable how ever you want and if some functionality not onboard, it's easy to extend this.

All things in the infrastructure will be transparent. You get alerts before an incident is starting

What do you like best about the product?
The product is easy to tart with and it offers various nice installation options, including appliances for quick test setups. It offers nice integration options, too. The community is super helpful.

When diving deeper into the possibilities the learning curve gets steeper.

I mainly use it for setting up prototypes and integrating the mobile alerting solution SIGNL4.
