not letting you to pick an instance name

presenting us an issue since its not letting us pick the instance name, it defaults to 'MSSQLSERVER'. couldn't find help for this issue anywhere, we can't install a new instance since the installation media is not available on the server.

For instances launched on AMIs pre December 2020 you may request from AWS support team access to the media to re-install SQL Server according to your needs. For instances launched from AMIs after December 2020 you can locate the SQL media on the instance at C:\SQLServerSetup

I ran into the same issue. Without allowing a named instance installation we are unable to use this for our intended purpose. Would love to know if I have missed something.
