The only way to test widely your website/apps

  • January 31, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The ability to test an application on a full fresh system and for many brands (specially samsung devices !).
Even for recent APIs, like Trusted Web Application, it was really usefull to test our new applications.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometime it can be slow, specially on iOS devices, I had issue with the cursor when I click somewhere it handle the click few pixel above on the device for example.
Globally more stable on Android devices, too bad, issues with our apps are often on iOS.

Also found difficulties to use push notification, I still use real devices for this usecase.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
- To have many devices, recent or older : usefull it can be difficult to always stay up to date on test devices
- Test features across multiple devices at the same time : awesome to compare iOS / Android behaviors

Reliable testing platform with a few drawbacks

  • January 31, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
In summary, BrowserStack is a handy tool for testing websites on different browsers. It might take a bit to get used to, but it's easy once you get the hang of it. The local testing feature is a big plus, allowing you to test on real devices easily. Overall, it's a reliable choice for making sure your website works well everywhere.
What do you dislike about the product?
However, BrowserStack has room for improvement, notably in performance, challenges with testing gestures on mobile devices, and the absence of Push-Notification Testing. Additionally, delays in updating device versions pose an inconvenience, suggesting the need for timely updates or options for tech previews and browser betas.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
BrowserStack is a helpful solution for us when testing the PWA (Progressive Web App) on mobile and desktop. It provides a wide range of real devices and browsers, helping us catch and fix issues before we launch. The local testing feature makes it easy to test within our development setup. Although there are a few challenges like waiting for device updates, overall, BrowserStack is crucial in ensuring our PWA works well across different devices and browsers.

It's easy to test and explore the experience across various platform using browser stack.
With variety of device platforms offered, one can experience the website/app in real alike device.
What do you dislike about the product?
Fonts sometimes get extra bold as what they are on live sites.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
As tesing the app requires to test the functionality across various device like android, Mac, Windows, Iphone, etc. And one might not have these many devices at one place. Using browser stack it's become easy to test the same across various devices.

Selenium automation made easy

  • January 30, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It's extremely easy to hook up to an already existing automation solution, took me less than an hour to switch my chromedriver over to use Browserstack
What do you dislike about the product?
Test observability and Management are still new and don't support the reporting style I like.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It removes the need for us to own and maintain our own selenium grid. It also removes the requirement of keeping everything up to date in that area as well since Browserstack does that for us.

Easy way to test across multiple browsers and platforms

  • January 29, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
BrowserStack makes it easy to cross test websites and features across many generations of devices and browsers.
What do you dislike about the product?
They offer an extension as an easy way to access their service, but I've found it to be more difficult to use that way vs. just going directly to BrowserStack and selecting a device to test that way.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Without BrowserStack, it's hard to test multiple ranges of devices and browsers to accurately get a feel for how an end user is navigating your website. BrowserStack makes this easy. Pick your device and browser version and you're off. If you're working on new features or implementing more modern CSS, seeing what works and what doesn't with the full range of devices that visit your website is very valuable. Also really great to have developer tools for mobile browsers like iOS Safari that would be otherwise hard to troubleshoot.

Best emulator alternative

  • January 27, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
We don't need to install any app Browserstack provides single platform where we can use any number of devices and we can check their logs of each operation.
It allows us to automate our test case in our choice of devices.
Browserstack provides updates very quickly as soon as any new devices launch in market for eg Galaxy S24.
What do you dislike about the product?
Pricing is the only cons I can see in browserstack although it is good for the feature it offers but not totally worth.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We earlier used to perform mobile testing on verious physical devices. Then we switched to emulator. For that we need to have Android studio which need powerfull system to run. Also, it doesnt provide for iOS devices. Then we switched to Browserstack and we are now saving our resources.

Efficient Cross-Browser and Cross-Platform Testing

  • January 25, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
My team uses BrowserStack several times a week, primarily relying on the "Live" and "App Live" features. We particularly appreciate the ease of use, catering to both IT and non-IT roles within our team. The extensive selection of devices, operating systems, and browsers is commendable. The local testing feature is really usefull for testing on our development and staging environments, enhancing our confidence in the code before deployment. Furthermore, our development team frequently relies on the devtools feature, finding it to be a valuable asset in our testing and debugging processes.
What do you dislike about the product?
Can be a bit slow and lagggy sometimes. The access to devtools, while beneficial, experiences occasional crashes, notably on iOS. Improving the stability of this feature would enhance the overall experience.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
No need to have multiples physicals devices on site, very usefull for remote work.
