Formstack does exactly what you think it does. And it does it well, securely, and reliably.
What do you like best about the product?
If you wanted an adjective to use to describe Formstack, I would call it "rock solid." I cannot think of a single circumstance that has caused us problems and we've been running multiple business systems on it for more than 5 years now. We build no-code products and formstack helps us power many of them. It's not the most flexible cloud-based form provider. It's also not the cheapest. (We have others we use for those qualifiers.) But it is the most solid one we use. (Which probably explains why it isn't the cheapest nor the most flexible -- because they focus on keeping the product stable and making sure it works.)
What do you dislike about the product?
Not much. It works. It's good at what it does. We've built some pretty amazing stuff with it!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
All of them. LOL We literally use Formstack to solve problems every day. We built an internal referral tool for our entities. We have multiple companies under one roof and wanted a way to reward team members for referring business to our other businesses. We built an entire referral system on the back of Formstack, connecting it to other tools to build out an entire process. In just over a year, that tool has generated around $1M in revenue for our companies.
Easy to use but powerful... all in one product
What do you like best about the product?
All the different fields it offers. I love the way you can set a form or survey in few minutes without much effort. The logic system is very flexible. The calculated fields are excellent as well. I've been able to use a mixture of calculated fields and logic to solve several problems. You can also customize e-mail notifications for those who fill your forms and for yourself. The data exporting versatility is excellent too. OH! The forms are very readable and organized on mobile devices.... I love it!
What do you dislike about the product?
Its easiness has some trade-offs. I have found myself in situations where there's no possible solution for a particular problem because I've found the tool's limits. Of course, it is way more versatile than other solutions I've used, like Microsoft Forms. On the other hand, one day, I had some troubles with my data. I contacted the support team, but they did not give me a real solution. I managed to find it myself.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Microsoft 365 for almost everything in my organization. Formstack helps me to collect insight from outside the organization. I can connect that data to Power BI reports and then make crucial decisions. When we start a program on the field, we use Formstack to make FAQ pages with the possibility of sending additional questions to our team from the very same site. We also use it to create online applications that help us find people that meet specific criteria.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Just give it a try! You will start to love it.
Excellent and Secure Workflow Platform that Keeps Improving
What do you like best about the product?
Complex forms are easy to build and update with additional options and logic. We can customize forms to our brands and save the customization as a template to quickly implement across our internal and line of business processes. It is simple to update and add new form fields to live forms, while still retaining hidden deprecated fields and their previously collected data.
What do you dislike about the product?
Multiple levels of logic are not easy to implement within a single form. We implement layered logic using form sections and chaining numerous forms. Some elements can't be customized, like the color of radio buttons which are always black, even on a black background. Also, with "dark mode forms" using black backgrounds and white text, we can't see the text in the form admin fields since that has a white background.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use it for business workflows and data collection; we can fine-tune our processes to serve internal staff and customers better. The data visualizations on the forms are instant and save so much time spent pulling excel sheets and setup manual charts to visualize the data. We can act more quickly to improve our processes.

Start the free trial to understand how it works and what you can build, and make sure to try out all the features available to you, including multiple form admin users, logic, and custom submission responses.

What do you like best about the product?
I really like how user-friendly Formstack is and the ease of creating really comprehensive forms.
What do you dislike about the product?
The design and personalization aspects could be improved. It is hard to change the font, sizing, add photos etc. and keep it aesthetically pleasing.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It is great to have a survey feature for internal projects and programs and get feedback in a centralized way.
Formstack - user friendly and super intuitive
What do you like best about the product?
I love that I can easily create a high quality Form quickly. Having templates that I can customize with css makes our forms branded and professional.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike that I can't Customize the email receipt we send to our users. There's no interface to really customize the reply emails. Would love if that could be updated so my emails are also branded and personalized.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Since we have a large website with numerous staff, they are always asking for forms for their pages. Formstack makes it easy to build these forms and deploy quickly

What do you like best about the product?
Formstack makes collecting data and survey responses super easy. I'm a huge advocate for its use across our organization because it helps us create workflows without IT involvement.
What do you dislike about the product?
No complaints really! We sometimes run into template CSS issues but the customer service team always helps us correct them quickly.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Formstack across all parts of our business from digital and marketing to product development to HR. We can easily create forms and surveys to gather necessary input across all of our departments.
This has been the best form building platform that I have experienced so far.
What do you like best about the product?
I really enjoy how easy it is to sort and organize and sort all the forms I have built, how easy it is to build forms using the form builder, and how it is easy to adjust the settings and notifications for each form I build. After building a couple of easy forms, I feel confident and have started tackling more complicated forms for our organization. These forms use multi-step workflows with calculations and smart lists.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish there was a bit more flexibility with adjusting the template ui without having to use CSS.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are solving multi-step workflows internally within our organization. We have really benefitted by getting rid of old software like Infopath thanks to Formstack.
Formstack makes creating forms easy and makes my job more efficient!
What do you like best about the product?
Formstack is very easy and simple to use. You don't need to have a computer science degree to build helpful forms. Over the past year, our school has worked hard to make everything we would normally do in person, available for students to do online. Formstack has been a huge help in making that goal a reality.
What do you dislike about the product?
User management can be challenging when you have bigger organization using Formstack. Deciding who needs to who role and managing all the user that need to be added to utilize the workflow can become difficult.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our school has used Formstack to make our business processes quicker and more convenient for students, faculty, and staff. We used Formstack frequently before the complications of COVID-19 but even more sense then. Now just about every form we have is available through Formstack.
Efficient and Easy to use
What do you like best about the product?
Customization of the applications. The applications are easy to review. Editing the applications is easy and convenient.
What do you dislike about the product?
There isn't a change log or I didn't know how to enable the option. There isn't an option to request more information from the applicant of the form.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It help to create a simple approval document for business applications/proposals.
Formstack has saved our College many hours of paperwork and countless data-entry errors.
What do you like best about the product?
The best feature of Formstack for us has been the ease of integration and form building. Most basic forms can be created in under 10 minutes. Adding in Workflows and other integrations supercharges the capability beyond what we'd ever accomplished.
What do you dislike about the product?
Over the past few years Formstack has added in several more products to it's line (Documents, Sign). I think this was done by acquiring existing third-party partners but I may be wrong. This is great in one sense because it makes the overall experience much smoother. However I feel like this is still a transition period for the company and the documentation and training hasn't full caught up to these new additions.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
There are countless forms associated with the College process, both internal (student-facing) and internal (employee-facing). Formstack has given us the ability to move from a paper process to almost entirely digital. During the pandemic this has been a life-saver as many students are completely virtual and never visited campus in the past year. Beyond the initial form completion, the ability to digitally route form submissions through and approval chain has improved our time-to-completion on many tasks.
