Best learning experience you can get on the web

  • June 30, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Hand-on projects. "Forced" to immediately use knowledge gained in videos & lectures. Project portfolio to show off to others.
What do you dislike about the product?
In comparison to other Online Learning Platforms, its a little bit expensive & comes with more responsibility. Otherwise, I would rather compare Udacity to a short master-program, so "expensive" is really relativ.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Actually using Code & technical skills within my current role in a Non-technical job (BI Analyst) to solve real problems within the company.

Disclosure: I received a discount on my next purchase of a Nanodegree program for writing this review.
But only because I plan to do another Nanodegree soon :)
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Just go for it, you wont regret it, seriously.

Awesome hands-on learning with state-of-the-art projects

  • June 30, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I have completed the Data Analyst and Machine Learning Engineer nanodegrees, each about 200 hours, and was totally fascinated by the way they were taught, you could interact with mentors and support, by the state-of-the-art projects you write your code about and by the fast and personalized feedback you received for your project submissions.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are no Udacity-specific downsides. A general challenge for users of this kind of course is to finish the classes as this requires a significant investment of your time on a regular basis and is intellectually challenging.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
My projects covered a set of various techniques incl. supervised learning (classifiers, regressions), unsupervised learning (clustering), reinforcement learning (drone programming) and deep neural networks for image recognition. I have visualized and communicated results in many different forms using Python, R and Tableau. I had never imagined that Udacity would enable me to not only develop broader data science skills, but to actually shift careers from management consulting to data science, where I will start my new job next week.

I received a discount on my next purchase of a Nanodegree program for writing this review.

Excellent platform to learn ML and AI

What do you like best about the product?
Honestly, I liked the way they delivered all the lessons and the projects that came with each course. The feedback after every project helped me improve upon on my skills. The fact that it brought a community of people who are from variety of fields other than CS is what motivated me. I have a degree in Mechanical engineering and always doubted whether i can perform well in this field but with the help of the community i was able to do them. I completed my first AI programming using python nanodegree. I finished my term 1 in Machine learning engineer nanodegree. Now i am currently in a scholarship challenge on Udacity. Overall, the experience has been fantastic.

On financial note, not only you get quality education on a reasonable price, their monthly payment launched recently is going to help me a lot for my term to machine learning engineering

What do you dislike about the product?
the fact that it doesn't have a good phone interface to handle all the lessons
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
i am currently involved in learning skills in AI. I wish to tackle environmental issues as well as improve predictive maintenance program of machinery in my field

Great Career Success I Can Link to Udacity

  • June 30, 2019
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The fact that I was able to take a 1 year course (iOS Developer) and turn it into a career for myself is amazing. The degrees hold their weight when compared to free courses out there. Some reasons for this is that the content is premium and the mentor support is great. Lots of companies see these degrees as premium, which is a huge bonus as well.

NOTE: I received a discount on my next purchase of a Nanodegree program for writing this review. However, I believe my comments to be 100 % honest.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's online course based so there are some niceties taken away by that like meeting other classmates in class easily, and the person-to-person interactions synonymous with university style classes.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I was getting a cs degree from a public university in tandem with completing the iOS Developer Nanodegree. The Udacity course really separated me in skill and experience from other students. I was able to leverage my nanodegree (while in school) into helping a business get off the ground, by building an iOS app, which was an amazing experience. Also, I'm able to pursue work that is meaningful, lucrative, and fulfilling. Currently I'm working for a tech startup as one of two primary iPhone Developers. This experience would have not been possible without Udacity.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Dive in, the courses can be great starters for seeing if you're interested in pursuing a specific technical field in more depth. They are not end all be alls though. They should be seeing as starting blocks to a career that is based in life long learning.

I have taken multiple courses on Udacity including a Nano-degree and my experience has been great

  • June 29, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I have used Udacity platform for Machine Learning and data analysis courses and found the course material and teaching quality great. I have also taken a AI Programming with Python Nano-degree program through Udacity which exposed me to Deep Learning and Computer Vision. I received a discount on my next purchase of a Nano-degree program for writing this review.
What do you dislike about the product?
I think if the aim is to gain knowledge then the courses or the Nano-degrees are great, but if you are new to the discipline or area, it may not be enough to land you a job in the chosen area.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Udacity has gave me exposure to Deep Learning and Computer Vision. I am currently trying to dive deeper into the subject and hopefully with enough background, I should be able to transfer into a core ML/Vision job in my future
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I would definitely recommend Udacity to others. It's a great platform for expanding your skills and learning cool things.

Data Analyst Nanodegree

  • June 29, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Thoughtful, engaging content, steady learning curve, good community engagement and quick review turnaround for projects. The projects were typically in depth enough for you to explore the concepts from the course sections thoroughly, whilst giving you enough room to go out on your own and build on the class material.

The mentors were also a great touch, even being out in Australia they generally were quick to respond and always helpful.

Disclaimer: I received a discount on my next purchase of a Nanodegree program for writing this review.
What do you dislike about the product?
I genuinely found this a wholly positive experience, I wish there was a little more freedom in the topics that you could choose to complete as not everything will be relevant (e.g. rather than have multiple data science courses, have one with flexibility to go down data eng vs data sci.)
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
At the time, my primary purpose for taking this course was to familiarise myself with the most popular open source tooling for analytics and machine learning. It helped me understand the different analytics ecosystems that my clients were working with and have more informed conversations.
