It reduces lot of effort in reducing the report preparation compared to BI platform.

What do you like best about the product?
The software is very intuitive as in, it understands the needs of the company and increases work efficiency. It can handle a lot of data and makes it very easy for all departments to create reports in order to view data. You can easily combine multiple queries or sort your data very easily while making reports. No need of a technical background or knowledge to generate reports.
What do you dislike about the product?
Its definitely not easy to set up, it actually took a lot of time to install it and so. Definitely need formal training and people who are not well versed with SQL will find it difficult to set it up. Price is also a con especially for small startups.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

The powerful handling of the information cubes, the reports and views that I can general.

The feeding process is a bit complex, even if its use is a bit structured.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Currently, in the institution that I work, it is not helping the entire financial issue of the Department of Risk Studies, helping us to analyze all the information sent by the banks.

The user interface needs to be improved.

I think the downside of Cognos Analytics is the step to start is big. Not every user will understand the product fast.

The best thing is "Quality reports can be run at any time and by any representative with a substantial log-in at IBM Cognos Analytics.The AI enabled exploration and dashboard capabilities are easy to use and exceed expectations

It is not simple to use. User has to get the formal training to utilise it to maximum extent. Report pulling is not that much fast. It take quite some time to load and display.

Development do not much listen for community enhancements ideas - more then 2 year to get the feature to implementation.

Reporting in bank. Parametrize reporting solution for couple of countries.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Great for enterprise solution to have all in one. You can reuse the data source through the platform. Do not believe so much to Gartner quadrant. There are not so many equivalent products. I have tried other two of the top and Cognos overall was the best. I am looking forward for AI (Watson) and ML included into the reporting and Self-service.
