I utilize Cognos behind a storage management tool. As I have been using it for awhile, the overall ease is what I like.

Nothing major comes to mind, overall I find it easy to use and provides the flexibilty needed.

We use it behind a storage management tool and it enables us to customize reporting and analytics for both internal capacity/performance and for client specific data.
Its a very good reporting product that's eaasy to use.

Its a powerful complex analytics tool that can handle complex query builds with various integration features. It can integrate with IBM Netezza database directly as well to suit reporting needs.
What do you dislike about the product?
Time taken to learn and use and sometimes specifically to the softwares it integrates with may be a bit cumersome or challenging.

Allows us to extract data from different data sources and combined them into one report/dashboard

More complex reports and large amount of data can cause the report to run slow.

It allows us as a government contractor to control our projects by tracking them in terms of funding and time. I have seen a report save project managers hours of work by not having to do everything by hand.

Learning curve is steep for new colleagues, for us as a long term users its not big deal.
