What do you like best about the product?
IBM Cognos Analytics is very user-friendly and allows me to create detailed reports and dashboards without needing to code. It connects easily to multiple data sources, and the visualizations help me understand trends quickly. The AI features also help make smart suggestions when analyzing data.

setting up complex filters or advanced calculations can be confusing for new users.

IBM Cognos Analytics helps us collect data from different places and put it all in one place. We use it to make easy-to-understand dashboards and add insights into our daily tools. This helps our teams make better decisions. It also helps us guess future trends and spot problems early so we can plan ahead.

Interface a little less modern and performance is a problem with large volumes of data.

Extensive BI tool catering the needs of many within a company

It is full stack. I an create fully detailed reports and super fancy dashboards. And over the past five years the number of improvements are tremendous.

It is difficult to use for novices, especially the reporting module.

I like the AI based analysis and report generation capabilities. They reduce the number of data scientists and engineers required to generate insights of similar quality

Nothing that I disliked, cloud data connectivity (AWS/ S3 buckets) could be added
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are testing IBM Cognos Analytics for inventory management forecasting and for prediction of opportunities lost (due to unavailability of raw materials/parts) for some of our manufacturing plants. Although we have a data science team, Cognos Analytics allowed me to create a quick proof of concept. I have connected our SQL databases, and I was able to identify atleast 3 divisons, where the current suply was less than predicted demand

Report development is quick and easy to pick up. There are many options for configuration and customization to bring your reporting to the next level.

There is a learning curve, just like any other tool.

We need structured reporting. Cognos helps us deliver canned reports for our end users daily, weekly, and monthly.

What do you like best about the product?
IBM Cognos Analytics is great for corporate reporting. It comes with great pixel perfect reporting. More important, it has additional capabilities for audit and compliance by using IBM's Motio DevOps suite leveraging zero-touch version control and deployment.
With te capabilities to do reporting and dashboaridng it is a complete suite for organizations.

It needs education and skills to fully leverage the product. Report Authoring can be complaex and is not designed for every user.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
IBM Cognos Analytics is key to deliver Business Analytics when strickt guidelines are needed, apporval processes must be in place ton ensure the most accurate and reliable BI implementation is required.
