What do you like best about the product?
1. Drag and drop visualization feature makes life easier
2. Ability to connect with multiple data sources
3. Ability to handle unstructured data
4. Quite similar to PowerBi, transitioning to IBM Cognos Analytics will be easier if you have some experience with Power Bi or Tableaeu for that matter

What do you dislike about the product?
I didn’t encounter any drawbacks till now, only thing I would say is initial setup time is little high but then again its not really a drawback if you ask me

Integrating with multiple data sources and creating a data story to help leadership in data-driven decision making

With the help of IBM Congnos Analytics i am able to create good and informative dashboard and with ease , it has helped the customers with decision making and and monitoring.
And the access to mobile for the reports is very handy.

The ease of creating reports even for a novice is especially appreciated as sometimes in my current position, I have to to train users.
What do you dislike about the product?
I do not like the error descriptions. They tend to be general. When I am developing, I do not like stopping to contact the administrator to check the logs

The user interface was very good and easy to use. It was easy to onboard business users on it with minimal or no training.
What do you dislike about the product?
Self service capabilities are limited and data integration required the help of IT development team. Otherwise, its a great tool.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
A lot of business units generate lot of data and they all need data visualization tools. IBM Cognos platform is helping us visualize the data in the form of reports which business teams can access and get data. Features like downloading data in excel are super easy as compared to other tools like SAC.

Cognos benefits me with the indepth research that is needed for my team. It pull all applicable data so I can clearly see trends and recognize issues.

The best part is the approach that uses Artificial Intelligence for visualisation is great and helps to take great decisions helping to bring better outcomes, prediction models, as well as data exploration models, gives good results, on top of everything the tool is easy to use.

IBM Cognos Analytics with Watson being an IBM product works well within IBM ecosystem but when it comes to third party integration it's a nightmare and many times not supported, another problem which I discovered is the performace lag when dealing with large and complex datasets as this should be there for the price point being paid.

IBM Cognos Analytics with Watson has helped us to drive decisions helping to improve outcomes and made data centralisation providing ease for analysis as well as reporting, helping to implement single source of truth still working with many other providers.
