What do you like best about the product?
the flow of the work is very smooth, IBM Cognos has the most beautiful UI compared to other cloud services I have used, and I think I will most likely recommend to my future employer
What do you dislike about the product?
I have faced some lagging when changing pages or loading assets, maybe its due to the servers far away from Finland, I appreciate if IBM can work on this issue.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I have used it to solve assignments that has been part of the study on Coursera, it is educated step by step and it made cloud computing much more familiar to me

What do you like best about the product?
We can mention that I like this system because it provides a graphical user interface for the creation of reports, which is totally easy, offering flexibility in its use when we refer to general terms, as well as learning and understanding the functionality. of the software as such, including when developing an analysis, as long as users understand the data that is provided by the service, without excluding that one of the points why I love Cognos is because of the authoring environment, which is designed to adopt complicated formats with somewhat inconsistent sources of information.
What do you dislike about the product?
The creation environment that is based on the web, is somewhat slow, which delays the work within the platform in a significant way, offering us low productivity, mentioning that it becomes slower with the constant growth of the size of the data, that is, the more information is attached to the online digital site, the less work performance we can exert, being a large-scale problem that requires a design update on its home page.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Cognos in our platform as one of the main business intelligence tools, for the generation of continuous reports and beneficiaries, including to satisfy all the needs with analytical areas for our clients that are considered as potential, since this software allows them our users to create and distribute these brief documents in a safe and effective way, with valuable information for us, since in the same way it allows us to analyze these contextual news to find knowledge for the convenience of the company for better decision-making.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
IBM Cognos is excellently suited to the systems analyst for large markets, be it telecommunications, extensive retail chains, financial institutions, and among other fundamental organizations that use this software, as it offers a great capacity to access the data with multiple dimensions that are totally necessary for a coherent decision making in any business establishment, without excluding that this system is adapted for both high-grade category companies as well as medium and small ones.

What do you like best about the product?
It has integration with with other IBM products like business intelligence. Easy to access and gives you required insights. I love working with this tool from IBM. It allows some SQL language, and some configuration features that are very good too. The user interface is pretty good. Easily integrating with most of the ERPs, very good for customizing reports, very detailed reporting. I was able to develop reports in report studio that gave the user the ability to pick what type of report they wanted (YTD, YTD vs LYTD, MTD, etc.). It has modules that help both end users and report writers. Cognos Analytics provides a high degree of governance and automation which facilitates the delivery of information in a mid size organisation. The current version also offers flexibility for new data exploration and analytics. The product does everything we need it to do, from governed reporting to self-service dashboards using governed sets of data.
What do you dislike about the product?
Creating reports is overwhelming at the beginning, and deployments is a thing that needs to be worked on. Interactive pdf is not available for reports.Tough to learn & not many resources available, you will get the value of the money invested in it only if you are able to get the most out of it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Creating report is one of the best complete solution for delivering insights from data at enterprise level, worked on multiple domains. Bulk migrations between environments can be completed easily and upgrades are accomplished in-place with no issues.

What do you like best about the product?
I like it is easy to use, especially govern. I like that. My users can create their own views or choose from a built-in library. Professional developers can really create amazing perspectives. Business and casual users. May create amazing insights as well.
What do you dislike about the product?
I think the product could benefit from more RESTful API power. The new SOAP API is fully implemented but must be modified. Implementing and maintaining integrations designed with the latest SDK solution can be tedious.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
As an IS director who manages a few renowned business analytical products, I never use any of the resources sponsored by my team to identify and view information every day. This was improved by Cognos Analytics because it allowed me to link to and model my existing data, upload additional data to that template and then create dashboards and reports that I use every day very easily. Cognos BI has maintained the components that creative, highly-trained experts in data visualization need to and has expanded Cognos Analytics to enable almost any user to find quick answers, without IS assistance.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Whether analytics is an essential evil or a competitive advantage, try to articulate the problem that must be resolved clearly. The idea of lonely analyst mining for analytical gold in tablets and then providing a stunning, c-suite visualization of that nugget is not synonymous with our constant need for insight. Every day, our analytical solution needs a process-based, verifiable version of the actionable truth.

I like that my organization uses cognos analytics as a one stop shop for many data sources. It's nice to be able to create visual data as well as extract data with filters
What do you dislike about the product?
So far the only thing I don't like is that I don't have admin rights to have a little more functionality as a developer
