IBM Watson Discovery Service Offers Suite of Analytics Tools at Scale
What do you like best about the product?
Watson Discovery's suite of API's enables developers to experiment with analytics solutions at scale for free. I can sort through the various API's to build custom solutions for my personal and business use. IBM has developed a real powerhouse here.
What do you dislike about the product?
There were several instances where the course instructions and cloud components were discordant, which made it difficult, at times, to reconcile and proceed further into the course material. I was able to puzzle through it all, though, which in the end enabled me to further develop both my knowledge and skills.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Watson Discovery + Assistant will enable me to build custom solutions for clients at scale at low cost in real time. I am also gaining a vision for new revenue streams. I have worked part-time from home for many, many years while raising a family. IBM's courses will enable me to re-enter the workforce full time in a few years, with razor sharp skills and knowledge.

What do you like best about the product?
the Watson works. It is well documented. A very useful service.
What do you dislike about the product?
I would like more language support. I miss the Hungarian language
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I created a chatbot. It works well
It's like magic (even though I know better)
What do you like best about the product?
I love that Discovery does the heavy lifting related to understanding my data. The automatic enrichments are excellent, and natural language querying makes high quality search a breeze.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish there was more control over document naming via the API.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We're using Discovery to ingest and understand a large corpus of internal employee-facing content in order to facilitate natural language search. All of this is accessed through our existing Watson Assistant chatbot.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Give it a try. The Lite plan is incredibly generous and offers more than enough to understand the capabilities.
Lots of tools and very easy to use

Difficult to tell what the best tool was. It was entirely dependent on the specific need and application

Still thinking about that. The service was generally great....

I am using is as a teaching tool to develop the workforce of the future. I also plan on using it to solve some research problems
Active development using Discovery SDU, WKS, Assistant
What do you like best about the product?
The annotation in WKS and SDU really streamlined model development. The API’s make it easy to incorporate the many different tools.
What do you dislike about the product?
Getting usage questions answered can be next to impossible and are often wrong. For instance, I was told repeatedly that Comply and compare provided the ability to quickly create new classification labels in the free version when the advanced level is required.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Analyzing business problems and solutions in contracts and proposal documents.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
While it is important to read the discovery documents, the best way to learn is to create a simple use case, experiment, fail, read, and succeed.

What do you like best about the product?
You can use the service for many different data sources. Can import data into WD. You can create custom collections. Can add pdf, word, html and json formats. Building queries is easy. You can use templates/generated queries or build your own queries.
What do you dislike about the product?
I liked the demo and what Watson DIscovery is capable of doing.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
just learning this so not using it to solve problems yet.

There isn't much to dislike about watson discovery, the only thing that concerns is a good internet connection!`
