A better alternative to traditional notebooks out there
What do you like best about the product?
As a university student who was using Deepnote while working on a team data visualization project, I loved how the interface made collaboration seamless. The real-time multi-user editing was a game-changer for us, which allowed us to easily work on different parts of the code remotely. As we were in a group, having the ability to organize our work into our structured notebooks was extremely handy, and kept all of the various components tidy. I found the commenting feature to be particularly helpful for sharing feedback throughout the project, which really helped with improving our efficiency as a team. Overall, I found Deepnote to be extremely user intuitive as a platform, and will definitely continue to use it in projects going forth.
What do you dislike about the product?
While I found almost every aspect of Deepnote to be perfect, one thing that I did experience was the lag or lengthy loading time for larger projects. Given the nature of our final-year project and the size of datasets we were working with, it sometimes took longer than expected for projects to load. It wasn’t a dealbreaker, but it did slow us down occasionally during crunch times.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The main aspect that I think Deepnote tackles extremely well, that I felt while using the platform for my final-year data visualization project, was its exceptional ease of use for collaborative work. It allowed all of us to work on the same notebook in real time without the risk of versioning issues (which I have personally encountered on other platforms freqeuntly) or overwriting each other's work, which saved us a great deal of time and stress. For a large team, it's organizational features were also highly beneficial, keeping our work structured and easy to navigate, which made team meetings and progress updates far more effective overall. Additionally, the built-in commenting feature enabled us to share feedback directly within the notebook, eliminating the need for us to send code on other communication platforms. Overall, Deepnote allowed us to focus on the project itself rather than the various logistical hurdles, which greatly enhanced my productivity and the quality of teamwork.
It is ok, but has some issues.
What do you like best about the product?
It is easy to coordinate on a project with others.
What do you dislike about the product?
The screen jumps to where your cursor is, which makes scrolling the page very tedious sometimes.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It is an easy way to work on data science projects with several people in real time. For smaller projects it is less work to set up compared to a version control.
Slow and unreliable
What do you like best about the product?
Nice UI and features compared to my experience with databricks notebooks. We've switched to jupyter lab in sagemaker now though and I don't really miss anything about deepnote. Maybe the auto complete but it's really not a big deal.
What do you dislike about the product?
Incredibly slow, crashes, unreliable, expensive for more compute. Doesn't have some basic features like find replace.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Hosted notebook
Great for collaboration and quick proof of concepts, building integrations is very easy
What do you like best about the product?
I’ve been using Deepnote and it has quickly become one of my favorite tools for data analysis and collaboration. The platform is fantastic for team-based work, making it easy to collaborate in real time. It’s also incredibly intuitive for quickly prototyping and testing ideas, allowing for seamless proof of concept development.
One of the standout features is how easily it is to set up integrations. Whether connecting to data sources or setting up workflows, the process feels streamlined and efficient

What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing immediate comes to mind in terms of dislikes, for what we use it for, it's been great
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Deepnote addresses several key challenges for us:
Seamless Collaboration
Simplified Integrations
Rapid Prototyping and Proof of Concepts

Rapid Prototyping and Proof of Concepts
Great for data exploration
What do you like best about the product?
I use it all the time to explore data through python and it's own charting capabilities. It's amazingly fast, making it very hard to ever go back to jupyter.
What do you dislike about the product?
Just wish it would allow for running the code on-premises.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Makes data exploration easier and faster, by allowing for realtime coding.
Better than most Python environment
What do you like best about the product?
i like it is intuitive and you can filter columns without writing code
What do you dislike about the product?
interface has too much stuff to navigate
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
can collaborte with multiple people
I love deepnote’s services so much!
What do you like best about the product?
My favourite aspect about Deepnote is the ability to have multiple virtual machines running at once! This is especially good for my team.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike that sometimes all of the servers are full and you have to wait a little bit to get it started (usually only 2 minutes, so not too bad.).
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Deepnote is solving a problem with my device not being strong enough to handle multiple instances running at once, but this can handle alot of power.
My go to tool for python
What do you like best about the product?
I absolutely love the auto complete feature of deepnote. It helps me write code faster and more efficiently. Additionally, the ability to share my projects is amazing!
What do you dislike about the product?
I was hoping to get more computing power in the free user tier.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It helps me share my projects with my peers for review
Collaboration couldn't get easier!
What do you like best about the product?
Integration with platforms like GitHub and BigQuery, ease of use when collaborating with team members on projects, feature use related to cloud-based Jupyter Notebook functionality, and easy implementation with no external setup needed.
What do you dislike about the product?
The user experience can occasionally be slow and laggy.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Deepnote is allowing me to solve machine learning problems through providing a means to analyze real-world datasets to build models related to classification and regression in a collaborative setting seamlessly, whereas Google Collab would require team members and me to work separately.
DataJam project using deepnote
What do you like best about the product?
I like the collaborative nature of the tool. Our team of 3 are able to see each others' progress using multiple notebooks in the same workspace, which is what make our project possible in a short timeframe.
What do you dislike about the product?
Machine is getting restarted too often/soon. I know we are having the free/education version, so resource is limited. But it seems like I spent a lot of time waiting for machine to start up during the project implementation. I would like to see a longer timeout if possible. I would also like to see support of newer version of python. I think the default was 3.9 when we first create the workspace.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use this tool to analyze college accessibility using publicly available data. It is part of a DataJam competition that a group of college students put together.
