A Robust Enterprise Foundation for Integration and Extension

  • April 20, 2026
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I appreciate how SAP BTP serves as a unified environment that bridges the gap between different SAP applications (like S/4HANA and SuccessFactors) and third-party systems. The Integration Suite is particularly powerful, offering pre-built content that significantly reduces development time. Additionally, the Side-by-Side Extensibility model allows us to customize our business processes without modifying the core code, which makes our upgrade cycles much smoother.
What do you dislike about the product?
The learning curve can be quite steep for teams transitioning from traditional ABAP environments to the Cloud Foundry or Kyma environments. The pricing model can also be complex to navigate; it requires careful monitoring of consumption-based credits to ensure costs don't spiral during high-usage periods. Lastly, the documentation, while vast, can sometimes be fragmented between different services.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are primarily using BTP to solve the issue of data silos. By leveraging the SAP Analytics Cloud and Data Intelligence features within the platform, we’ve gained a "single source of truth" for our financial reporting. It has also helped us modernize our UI through SAP Build, allowing us to create mobile-friendly apps for our field workers that sync directly with our ERP in real-time.

Robust Infrastructure & Integrations, but a Steep Learning Curve

  • April 10, 2026
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
As an IT engineer, I love how SAP BTP centralizes our infrastructure. The Integration Suite saves hours of manual API setup, and system Performance remains rock-solid during peak loads. The drag-and-drop UI/UX of SAP Build is so intuitive that non-technical teams can easily create workflows. Furthermore, the embedded AI automates complex data tasks, driving clear ROI alongside a flexible Pay-As-You-Go Pricing model. To top it off, Support and Onboarding via SAP Discovery Center made our deployment incredibly seamless
What do you dislike about the product?
While incredibly powerful, SAP BTP has a steep learning curve. The sheer number of services can be overwhelming, and the official documentation is sometimes fragmented across different portals. This can slow down the initial onboarding process for junior developers. A more centralized, step-by-step knowledge base would be a great improvement. Additionally, the cost estimator tool can be somewhat complex, making it occasionally difficult to predict the exact monthly expenses for new integration projects before they are fully deployed
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Before SAP BTP, our biggest challenge was dealing with data silos. We had fragmented information spread across legacy on-premise systems and various cloud applications. My IT team spent a massive amount of time building and maintaining fragile, custom point-to-point API connections.

SAP BTP solved this by acting as our central integration hub. By utilizing the SAP Integration Suite, we successfully automated the data flow between our core ERP and third-party tools. The biggest benefit is the dramatic reduction in manual IT maintenance, saving us countless hours each month. Furthermore, because data is now synchronized in real-time, our management team can access consolidated, accurate analytics for faster business decision-making

Service Delivered, But Overall Experience Needs Improvement

  • April 07, 2026
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
What I like best about SAP Business Technology Platform is the way it brings together data management, analytics, application development, and integration into one unified environment. It empowers organizations to turn data into real business value by enabling faster innovation, seamless scalability, and intelligent decision making. I especially appreciate how it supports both flexibility and reliability, whether building new applications, extending existing ones, or integrating diverse systems, it provides the tools to do so efficiently. The combination of openness, security, and advanced capabilities like AI and machine learning makes it a powerful foundation for driving digital transformation.
What do you dislike about the product?
One challenge I see with SAP Business Technology Platform is that, while it offers a very comprehensive set of tools, the breadth can sometimes feel overwhelming. The learning curve is steep, especially for new users who need to navigate multiple services and capabilities before they feel comfortable. Additionally, integration across different SAP modules and external systems, though powerful, can be complex and require significant expertise and resources. Cost considerations can also be a concern, as scaling up usage or adding advanced features may increase expenses quickly. Overall, it’s a robust platform, but simplifying the user experience and reducing complexity would make it even more accessible.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
SAP Business Technology Platform is helping solve the challenge of connecting data, processes, and applications across a complex business landscape. Traditionally, organizations struggle with fragmented systems, siloed data, and slow innovation cycles. BTP addresses these problems by providing a unified environment for integration, analytics, and application development.

For me, the biggest benefit is the ability to access real-time insights and act on them quickly. By centralizing data and enabling advanced analytics, it reduces decision making delays and improves accuracy. The platform also simplifies extending existing SAP solutions and integrating with non SAP systems, which saves time and resources. Ultimately, it allows me to focus more on driving business outcomes rather than managing technical complexity.

Streamlines Integration with Minimal Core Disruption

  • March 16, 2026
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
What I like most about SAP Business Technology Platform is how it lets you extend SAP applications and integrate them with other systems without touching the core SAP system. It makes development faster and keeps upgrades safe because your custom logic runs separately. These features allow us to add new functionality or integrate other systems without modifying the core SAP system, which keeps the main system stable and avoids issues during upgrades. It also makes development faster because we can build services or APIs on the platform and connect SAP with other applications easily.
What do you dislike about the product?
One area that could improve is the learning curve. SAP BTP has many services and tools, so it can take some time for new developers to understand the platform completely. Also, sometimes configuration and setup can feel a bit complex compared to other cloud platforms. One improvement could be simplifying the onboarding process for new developers. Since SAP BTP has many services and tools, clearer guidance or more unified documentation could help developers get started faster. Also, improving monitoring and debugging tools in one centralized place would make troubleshooting easier.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
SAP Business Technology Platform helps us connect systems, manage data, and build extensions for SAP apps without changing the core system, keeping it stable. It speeds up development by allowing integration and new functions, ensuring easy modifications without risking the main setup.

SAP Integration Simplified Our Complex Systems

  • February 28, 2026
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I appreciate most about SAP Business Technology Platform is the accelerated time to value provided by the SAP Integration Suite, especially the cloud integration feature. It's a game changer because of its library of pre-packaged content. Instead of building a Salesforce to S/4HANA sync from scratch, I can deploy a pre-configured iflow and simply map the custom fields. I also highly value SAP HANA Cloud for its smart data access capabilities, allowing us to query massive data sets from different sources in real time without the overhead of physical data replication. This plug-and-play connectivity and high-performance data management lets me focus on solving clients' actual business logic rather than wrestling with the underlying infrastructure.
What do you dislike about the product?
As mentioned, the steep learning curve can be a headache for any consultant out there is one of the biggest hurdles. Next can be the complex licensing as it can complicate on how we can offer the tool package to our clients. Additionally the UI within the BTP cockpit can occasionally feel fragmented and require unusual amount of clicks to switch between different tools.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
SAP Business Technology Platform solves siloed data issues by unifying complex systems, reducing Salesforce to SAP integration time, and managing large datasets efficiently, allowing me to focus on business logic without infrastructure hassles.
