Robust Infrastructure & Integrations, but a Steep Learning Curve
What do you like best about the product?
As an IT engineer, I love how SAP BTP centralizes our infrastructure. The Integration Suite saves hours of manual API setup, and system Performance remains rock-solid during peak loads. The drag-and-drop UI/UX of SAP Build is so intuitive that non-technical teams can easily create workflows. Furthermore, the embedded AI automates complex data tasks, driving clear ROI alongside a flexible Pay-As-You-Go Pricing model. To top it off, Support and Onboarding via SAP Discovery Center made our deployment incredibly seamless
What do you dislike about the product?
While incredibly powerful, SAP BTP has a steep learning curve. The sheer number of services can be overwhelming, and the official documentation is sometimes fragmented across different portals. This can slow down the initial onboarding process for junior developers. A more centralized, step-by-step knowledge base would be a great improvement. Additionally, the cost estimator tool can be somewhat complex, making it occasionally difficult to predict the exact monthly expenses for new integration projects before they are fully deployed
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Before SAP BTP, our biggest challenge was dealing with data silos. We had fragmented information spread across legacy on-premise systems and various cloud applications. My IT team spent a massive amount of time building and maintaining fragile, custom point-to-point API connections.
SAP BTP solved this by acting as our central integration hub. By utilizing the SAP Integration Suite, we successfully automated the data flow between our core ERP and third-party tools. The biggest benefit is the dramatic reduction in manual IT maintenance, saving us countless hours each month. Furthermore, because data is now synchronized in real-time, our management team can access consolidated, accurate analytics for faster business decision-making

SAP Integration Simplified Our Complex Systems
What do you like best about the product?
I appreciate most about SAP Business Technology Platform is the accelerated time to value provided by the SAP Integration Suite, especially the cloud integration feature. It's a game changer because of its library of pre-packaged content. Instead of building a Salesforce to S/4HANA sync from scratch, I can deploy a pre-configured iflow and simply map the custom fields. I also highly value SAP HANA Cloud for its smart data access capabilities, allowing us to query massive data sets from different sources in real time without the overhead of physical data replication. This plug-and-play connectivity and high-performance data management lets me focus on solving clients' actual business logic rather than wrestling with the underlying infrastructure.
What do you dislike about the product?
As mentioned, the steep learning curve can be a headache for any consultant out there is one of the biggest hurdles. Next can be the complex licensing as it can complicate on how we can offer the tool package to our clients. Additionally the UI within the BTP cockpit can occasionally feel fragmented and require unusual amount of clicks to switch between different tools.

Additionally, I found that the IDEs in SAP Business Technology Platform are more practical and have better integration compared to VS Code.
What do you dislike about the product?
It doesn't have a good look and feel, it's not very intuitive. To be able to evaluate a service, you have to go to several options, have users for each service, and assign the required roles for the service to run, all of which are in different options of the main navigation menu. It wasn't easy, exactly what I mentioned about it not being very intuitive is what creates a barrier when starting with the tool.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use SAP Business Technology Platform to carry out innovations and assess how services fit with existing solutions. It allows me to manage teams with different approaches and separates productive environments from testing ones, facilitating evaluations without interrupting the business.
