Unified Platform for Integration, Data, and App Development

  • February 11, 2026
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
What I like most about SAP Business Technology Platform is how it brings integration, data, and application development into one unified environment. Instead of working with disconnected tools, BTP provides a central platform where you can extend existing SAP systems, integrate third-party applications, and manage data more efficiently.
What do you dislike about the product?
An area that can be improved is documentation and clarity around certain configurations. While there are many resources available, finding very specific implementation guidance can take time. In some cases, setup and configuration can also feel more complex than expected.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Here’s a strong, realistic answer that sounds experience-based and professional:

SAP Business Technology Platform helps solve the challenge of integrating different systems and managing data across the organization. Before using BTP, it was more difficult to connect SAP and non-SAP applications in a streamlined way, which often led to manual processes or fragmented data.

A powerful enterprise platform for building, integrating, and automating business processes

  • February 10, 2026
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
SAP Business Technology Platform stands out for its strong integration capabilities and flexibility across enterprise systems. The platform brings together application development, analytics, automation, and integration under one ecosystem, which makes it easier to build scalable solutions without relying on multiple vendors. I particularly like how well it integrates with existing SAP products while still supporting open standards and third-party tools. The availability of low-code tools, cloud-native services, and robust security features makes it suitable for both rapid innovation and enterprise-grade deployments.
What do you dislike about the product?
The biggest downside of SAP Business Technology Platform is its learning curve, especially for users new to SAP ecosystems. Initial setup, pricing models, and service selection can feel complex and overwhelming. Documentation is extensive but sometimes fragmented, making it harder to find clear, step-by-step guidance for specific use cases. Additionally, costs can increase quickly as more services are added, which may be challenging for smaller teams or organizations with limited budgets.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
SAP Business Technology Platform helps solve challenges related to system integration, process automation, and application scalability. It allows us to connect disparate systems, automate manual workflows, and build custom applications without starting from scratch. This has reduced operational inefficiencies, improved data consistency, and accelerated development timelines. By centralizing data, analytics, and automation on a single platform, it enables better decision-making and supports digital transformation initiatives across the organization.

Powerful Platform for Extending SAP S/4HANA and Integrating Apps

  • February 05, 2026
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I use SAP Business Technology Platform every day to extend and integrate SAP S/4 HANA workflows for my company's finance and operations teams. What I find most valuable is the variety of services that are available in one environment. It provides application development, integration, and analytics capabilities. By using the visual flow and integration designers, it is possible to create custom extensions without changing the SAP system. It is possible to deploy my solutions rapidly, track them in real-time, and ensure that they meet my business needs while providing system stability. It is a centralized environment that saves me time and keeps multiple projects aligned.
What do you dislike about the product?
The biggest challenge is its complexity, especially if you are a new user and are not familiar with SAP systems. Some of the configurations need extensive knowledge of SAP integration concepts, and moving from one service to another can be overwhelming at times. Also, understanding pricing and service allocations can be a bit tricky. Although the platform is very powerful, smaller projects can be time-consuming in terms of configurations, and other advanced features like API management and custom workflow automation need proper planning and knowledge.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
SAP BTP has helped in solving the issue of extension of SAP systems without having to change the original application codes. Before the use of SAP BTP, it was risky to introduce new custom workflows or to integrate with external systems, as it could cause issues with upgrades or result in inconsistencies. With the use of SAP BTP, I have been able to develop extensions and integrations externally, which has helped in reducing the risk of integration. It has helped my team in automating financial approvals, synchronizing operational data, and integrating reporting tools in a more efficient manner.

Robust Platform, Interface Could Improve

  • December 20, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like the way SAP Business Technology Platform handles users and virtual spaces, which allows for parallel environments to the production environment and evaluating services without interrupting the business. The users allow me to manage work teams, each with a different focus, and have access to the corresponding tool. The ability to separate the production environment from the test environments, but with information similar to that of production, is very helpful. Additionally, I found that the IDEs in SAP Business Technology Platform are more practical and have better integration compared to VS Code.
What do you dislike about the product?
It doesn't have a good look and feel, it's not very intuitive. To be able to evaluate a service, you have to go to several options, have users for each service, and assign the required roles for the service to run, all of which are in different options of the main navigation menu. It wasn't easy, exactly what I mentioned about it not being very intuitive is what creates a barrier when starting with the tool.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use SAP Business Technology Platform to carry out innovations and assess how services fit with existing solutions. It allows me to manage teams with different approaches and separates productive environments from testing ones, facilitating evaluations without interrupting the business.

A Powerful Foundation for Innovation with a Steep Learning Curve

  • December 04, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
What I appreciate most about SAP BTP is its ability to "keep the core clean," enabling companies to innovate without putting their essential systems at risk. Rather than altering the main ERP code which can make future upgrades challenging and hazardous BTP serves as a unified "sidecar" environment. Here, you can develop custom extensions, integrate various applications, and utilize analytics, all without interfering with the core system. This strategy provides businesses with the flexibility to create modern, cloud-native solutions and seamlessly connect their entire IT landscape, all while keeping their critical operational core standardized, secure, and easy to maintain.
What do you dislike about the product?
The main downsides of SAP BTP are its high complexity and unpredictable pricing structure. Users often struggle to forecast costs accurately due to convoluted credit models, while developers face a steep learning curve exacerbated by fragmented documentation. Additionally, the platform can feel over-engineered, requiring excessive administrative setup for simple tasks that would be straightforward on other platforms.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
SAP BTP addresses the issue of a fragmented IT landscape by serving as a central hub that connects both SAP and non-SAP systems. One of its main advantages is supporting a "clean core" approach, which lets us develop custom extensions independently, without altering the core ERP. This approach keeps our essential systems stable and ready for upgrades, while also providing the flexibility to innovate rapidly without accumulating technical debt.

Seamless SAP Integration and Reliable Performance

  • November 29, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like that BTP lets me build and integrate stuff without breaking the core system. Everything’s in one place, it plays nicely with SAP, and it actually works without turning into a mess.
What do you dislike about the product?
The part that drives me nuts is how bloated and slow-to-navigate it can feel. BTP has great pieces, but the menus, services, and config steps sometimes feel like they were designed by a committee that never spoke to each other.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It cuts out a lot of the chaos. Instead of juggling random tools, custom hacks, and broken integrations, BTP gives me one place to build stuff, connect systems, and keep data consistent.

Seamless Integration and Automation for Effortless Testing

  • November 23, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Everything is seamlessly connected, providing me with immediate access to real, up to date business data for testing. It allows me to automate workflows and deploy test apps without the hassle of complicated integrations or setup. Additionally, its robust security and centralized management give me peace of mind about data governance, which is especially reassuring when working in enterprise environments. Overall, it speeds up my test cycles, improves their accuracy, and makes the entire process much less stressful.
What do you dislike about the product?
While the platform is impressively flexible and powerful, I find that some of the advanced configuration options and analytics setups can be somewhat overwhelming and time consuming, especially for testers who want to get started quickly. Navigating the more technical features often requires additional documentation or assistance from an SAP administrator. When working with complex test cases, setting up sandboxed or isolated environments isn’t always as straightforward as I would prefer. I would really appreciate having simpler controls and more accessible deep-dive features for users who aren’t developers.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
As a software tester, I primarily use SAP Business Technology Platform to efficiently set up and manage test environments, automate business process testing, access and validate real business data, and connect various SAP services to execute integrated test scenarios. It is also my preferred solution for ensuring secure data handling and taking advantage of the built in tools for workflow automation and application development, all within a single, unified platform.
