Building a connected customer graph has streamlined data relationships and saves development time

  • December 05, 2025
  • Review from a verified AWS customer

What is our primary use case?

My main use case for ArangoGraph is to build a customer graph in order to create a relation between customer and end users. I connect all the user related data together between the orders that they made from the supplier and customers.

What is most valuable?

The user interface is the best feature that ArangoGraph offers. The simplicity of the user interface is very appealing to me. ArangoGraph has positively impacted my organization as we made a 30% saving in order to build this graph. The savings were achieved mostly through time cost.

What needs improvement?

I think that ArangoGraph can be improved.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using ArangoGraph for six months.

What other advice do I have?

I advise others looking into using ArangoGraph to speed up the development using all the features that the product provides. I gave this review a rating of 8.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

Public Cloud

If public cloud, private cloud, or hybrid cloud, which cloud provider do you use?

What do you like best about the product?
From a DBA perspective, ArangoDB is easy to install, update and manage. We are using the ArangoDB enterprise edition on Linux RedHat. For install and update we are using the rpm pakages.
The user friendly Customer Support responds quickly and helpfully. Hot-Backups uses hardlinks and can be done very fast.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is no point-in-time backup/restore solution available.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We were looking for a fast and lean NoSQL database.

I have used ArangoDB in production to store user related information.

What do you like best about the product?
Being a document based database, it is flexible to store any kind of schema.
What do you dislike about the product?
I think, it is not very popular or not having broad community like mongodb. Sometimes you may not find the well support for issues that you are facing.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am storing the user related information in collection. Benefits wise it is flexible for us, to not stick to particular schema.
And it is scalable as well. and it has UI client which makes it easy to query the database.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you are looking for a document based database, then you can consider Arangodb. But please review your usecase whether it fits in this db, and estimate scale as well.

Worth testing

What do you like best about the product?
Graph analysis is very easy, the database helps a lot in connecting different entities rather than bringing them to Spark then try to find those connections, which gives a lot of flexibility and speed boost.
What do you dislike about the product?
No ANSI SQL support, I was hopping for SQL support, that was a disappointing thing to learn a new language. We use CQL at the moment, Spark SQL, and SQL on MySQL, now we have to adapt to AQL which is an unnecessary overhead in my opinion.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Graph analysis, rather than Spark + Cassandra, yet still experimenting.
