    Program Development

Trusted and proven tool

  • March 22, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I've used 1Password for almost a decade now. The company has always stood by the product and delivered timely updates that offer useful functionality. They've proven they can be trusted and that they have my security needs top-of-mind at all times.
What do you dislike about the product?
I often change the default settings for the 1Password browser extension so that it doesn't auto-submit forms. I find this can be problematic. Moreover, as a Mac and iOS user, there is a bit of overlap with built-in functionality that can sometimes prove to be frustrating. But these are relatively minor complaints.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We can adopt more secure best practices in ways that don't frustrate non-technical colleagues.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you're looking for team password management, this is probably the right tool. You may as well try it out first-hand.

My GoTo for passwords

  • March 21, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I love the integration with browsers through the browser extensions.
What do you dislike about the product?
Wish the browser integration worked in iOS
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I can have a workable unique password for every site I visit. It's only inconvenient if I click on sites in iOS have to go look up the password.

We've been using 1Password since it was just a baby

What do you like best about the product?
1Password has a simple formula-based strong password creation, convenient autofills all of our MacOS and IOS passwords for third-party sites, tools to identify and change existing weak passwords (complexity, uniqueness, etc.), tools to identify compromised sites where password changes are needed, convenient 1-click forms fill for identities (our names, addresses, email, etc.) and for credit cards (numbers, expirations, codes), a very strong security model for protecting our private data (both technology and suggested workflows), and a first-class support team. As for the last feature, I have rarely had to use it, but on the occasions that I did, the 1-Password support was fast and effective. Now if I could only get them to train my cable company's support team the world would be a better place.
What do you dislike about the product?
As an early adopter of 1Password, I am still under the one-time application fee purchasing model. So I get minor updates for free, and pay for major ones. I have been resistant to the newer subscription model because I have been trying to reduce the number of subscriptions that I manage. But the 1Password subscription pricing seems very fair to me, particularly since they are so active in continuing to improve the product over the years. So I'll probably switch to subscription at some point.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have been online since the invention of the web and have about 1,200 passwords to manage at this point. We couldn't stay secure without 1Password.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
1Password is a very capable, yet easy to use way to manage your passwords and a lot of other private information. It also leads to to better security workflows. The only category of user that may want to look for alternatives is someone who spends little time on the web, only has a few passwords, and wants to change from their pet's name to something more secure. 1Password would work great for that application, but the value probably wouldn't justify the price.

never want to be without it again

  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The ease of use, pre configured templates and the browser support and of course that it is available for all major platforms.
What do you dislike about the product?
The subscription model. Fortunately I have a "purchased" version. I would even pay for a yearly maintenance, but not for a subscription.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
One place to have all confidential data available.

Best all inclusive password solution

  • March 20, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I love the fact that it is ubiquitous, I can have my passwords everywhere, I especially like also the one-time passwords feature. The family plan is great I can have shared passwords with my family group. Awesome.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is nothing I can think of at this time that I dislike
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
In today's work and home environments we need to deal with tons of user accounts, to keep track of these different passwords there is no better solution than a password manager, I trust the team behind 1password to keep them safe.

I've tried all of them and 1P has consistently been the best

  • March 20, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The core functionality has always been exactly right and their UI has gotten better and better over time. It gives me problems so rarely that I almost never need support but, when I do need it, they are consistently there and helpful.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's not their fault, but it just doesn't work everywhere. They always try to help, but it just doesn't always work.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
PWs just aren't going anywhere anytime soon and having one of these is critically important. It makes great pws that I don't have to memorize. And the integration with Apple's biosenors is great.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I checked them all and used Dashlane for a while, and this just seems to be the best of the bunch.

The Best Password Vault on the Market

  • March 20, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Fast, allows custom fields, and with a multitude of secret types, supports Android, has wide support for browsers via add-ons.
What do you dislike about the product?
No support for Linux! The Windows and Android apps are of lower quality than the rest and are not fully-featured as the macOS version.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Having secure passwords, which are not reused across sites.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
This is a simple and yet powerful password vault, which I highly recommend based on my 5+ years of usage. I've looked into all major alternatives and 1Password wins hands down!

Over a decade of stable, secure updates

  • March 20, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I've used 1Password to keep track of my logins for both home and business for over 10 years.
What do you dislike about the product?
The categories of assets you can store are fairly fixed and I only use a few of them. In addition to allowing arbitrary fields for each entry, which they already support, I would like to just have my own custom categories with custom templates. ie I want to add a Cryptocurrency category(instead of using bank accounts) and create a template for that always displays public / private key.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
New password for every site I use
Sharing passwords with my colleagues as needed

Good solid tool, lacking some features

  • March 20, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Solid support for Windows and OS X. Supports most browsers.
What do you dislike about the product?
No support for Yubikey, no linux support. At some point I may have to find another tool because of these two.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Ease of use, unique password for each site.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you need Linux or Yubikey (or similar device) support, look elsewhere. Otherwise this is a good product.
