1Password helps us both to secure products we use, and our people

  • April 04, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
We're using the Business edition of 1Password and it seems like it was designed by some fine folks that are using it for business as well. From recovering accounts because users lost their secret keys or forgot their passwords, to looking up who has used this company card to buy concert tickets (the user said it was accidentally and we've believed them), to sharing passwords, there is a feature that have always helped us.

Talking to business or support people has always been like talking to a friend, and I mean it, I remember once we started the call talking about our LEGO sets. Unfortunately, you don't need to talk to them very often :-) I also like that there's a free family account as part of the business account, so that employees can use the tool also to secure their own accounts, and families. That's why I like to call it "securing our people", not just "securing our employees".

It's also nice that 1Password, the company, publishes a quite detailed security whitepaper. By reading it, you can always learn about how this or that feature is implemented, how come you can actually recover an account and nerdy things like that. I think it's part of being an open company, which I've always valued being a 1Password customer.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't really think these are the things we, or I, dislike as such, it's more of "this would be nice to have".

Sometimes it's difficult to explain to users that there are just one too many apps to install for the best experience. There's the desktop app (and if you're a Mac user, there's version 8 which is not in the app store unfortunately), then the browser extension which is very useful and I always recommend it installing but it requires the desktop app from time to time, and if you don't have the desktop app, then you end up in the web app. It took me, the administrator, a while to recognize what's on the screenshot the user sent me.

1Password can be used to share passwords with external parties, which is a very nice feature, but it would also be nice if it could be used to share passwords in the opposite direction: when we'd like the external partner to send us the password directly to a vault. Maybe it could be built with the API or something, but I'd like our users to have a feature as easy to use, as the password sharing.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Making sure people have strong and unique passwords, and if they don't, they can and should use 1Password for multifactor authentication with integrated backup. We can enforce or require multifactor authentication in all internal tools because we can also provide a tool our people can use for that, we just don't leave them alone.

Amazing cli integration for dev teams; Non-profit support

  • March 18, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The ability to integrate 1password with our dev environment through their CLI tools is amazing. Our dev teams can easily set credentials through biometric authentication (e.g. touch ID) making it easier for our teams to pull down projects and get them running locally.

Their support for non-profits like ours is appreciated. Any business that doesn't have discounted rates for non-profits in 2024 is behind the times.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes I just want to generate a random password without all the log in stuff. It would be nice to have that as a little feature (e.g. a password without a username).

Another feature that would be good is the ability to create credentials and add them to a colleague's personal private vault. That makes is easier and more secure to onboard new employees e.g. creating AWS creds for new people.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
1Password makes it easier to manage credentials for infrastructure, repositories, CI/CD pipelines, and local developer environments.

What do you like best about the product?
1Password is easy to use and manage all your credentials. Share credentials into vaults and enforce your organization into the privacy practices. All employes can handle the tool and make the data safer. We use this tool everyday in everyplace and the deployment is easy than ever
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing at all, 1Password is so intuitive.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Secure the data privacy of our employes and privacy of the critical credentials of the organization. Also sharing credentials is easier than ever.

  • March 05, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Been a long-term user and love 1Password. Easy to use, and I feel my data is safe with them. I took me a while to convince that their cloud storage is safe, but thanks to the security white-paper I got convinced...
What do you dislike about the product?
I would like an option to keep all my passwords (the whole database) encrypted in iCloud or a similar storage solution.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Memorising my passwords

1Password is 1 of a Kind!

What do you like best about the product?
The fact that it has Travel Mode and Virtual Payment cards (unlike others) is very unique and i totally rate that! I like its password strength checking, outstanding security protections, customizable vaults and reliable user support.
What do you dislike about the product?
This one of a kind Password Manager ticks all the boxes for me. I Haven't seen anything negative so far.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
There are many solutions its been providing. Password generation and monitoring, very secure vault creation, organized file storage, selective access and much more. Gone are the days for data storage concerns, collaboration mishaps too.

The best pw manager out there

  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Amazing integrations with most tools and platforms. The CLI and SSH agent manager is brilliant.
What do you dislike about the product?
The predefined secrets layouts are sometimes annoying. I want a blank template I can add sections and fields to without defining it as a Login, API credentials etc.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Being able to share secrets across the organization in a safe and manageable way.

Overly complicated

  • February 22, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Supposedly it's a safe way to store passwords, but the usage itself is too complicated.
What do you dislike about the product?
Absolutely one of the worst password managers I ever used, and only continue to use it because it's mandated by the company I work on. To login, you must have both the Chrome extension and the Windows app, and one is dependent on the other, which means having to switch over from one to another for no reason back and forth, taking up time that could be better spent actually using the password and moving on with your tasks. To login for the first time you need to add a pass-code which never arrives, and again having to switch back and forth between the extension and windows app.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Password storage

Secure & Simple

  • February 17, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
What I really like about 1Password is how easy it is to keep all your passwords and personal info locked up tight but still easy to access when you need them. It's all about making your online life more secure without the headache. We are still using it on daily basis. Plus its very easy to add people to the team.
What do you dislike about the product?
So far, there's no major challenge with 1Password that stands out significantly. It seems to do its job well, keeping your passwords and personal info safe without any glaring issues.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
1Password solves the problem of remembering multiple passwords and the risk of using weak or repeated ones. It also reduces the stress of forgotten passwords and streamlines the login process for various websites.
