What do you like best about the product?
I have been using Scytale for about 3 months to achieve SOC 2 and HIPAA compliance and conduct penetration tests. I appreciate how Scytale simplifies and streamlines these processes with its intuitive, easy-to-understand interface. The platform provides guidance and automation that accelerates the audit preparation process, enabling my organization to engage with clients more efficiently. The inclusion of automation steps is particularly helpful because it ensures there's nothing outside Scytale’s scope needed for SOC 2 audit preparation. The platform’s capability to monitor audit and pen test progress alleviates concerns about potential unknown factors. Additionally, I was impressed with Celeste Botha’s support throughout our compliance journey; her dedication and understanding of our small organizational size were vital to keeping us on track for our audit deadlines. Furthermore, Scytale’s integration with other tools like GitHub and AWS enhances its utility and makes our workflow seamless.
What do you dislike about the product?
I find that the automation within Scytale, particularly the feature intended to automatically populate audit controls from AWS infrastructure, is unreliable. It often misses components if our implementation does not strictly align with what Scytale expects. This has led to frustrations and delays in our audit preparation process. Additionally, the support experience has been challenging. Response times are slow, often taking around two days, and if inquiries require escalation to another team such as the automation team, the delay becomes even longer. Responses can sometimes be unhelpful, further hampering our progress in audit readiness.

I find Scytale simplifies compliance processes for SOC 2 and HIPAA, offering guidance and automation that accelerate audit preparation, allowing us to engage with clients more efficiently.

From the moment we onboarded, Scytale gave us a clear roadmap toward certification. Their platform automatically mapped every ISO 27001 control, tracked our progress in real time, and helped us collect and organize evidence with just a few clicks.
What really stood out was how much time and effort we saved. Instead of juggling manual tasks, we focused on strengthening our security posture while Scytale handled the heavy lifting — automation, reminders, and compliance tracking.

What do you like best about the product?
I like the integrated experience that Scytale provides, as it allows us to seamlessly manage our compliance points while offering a centralized platform. This helps us in efficiently implementing and creating evidence for each control, which is crucial for maintaining compliance with guidelines like GDPR and ISO 27001. Additionally, I greatly appreciate the support and assistance from the GRC team. Their involvement in regular meetings has been immensely helpful in not only guiding us through the compliance framework but also in helping us to adapt Scytale effectively within our organization.

There have been a few bugs in the product. But it's improving constantly.

Streamlined Compliance
What do you like best about the product?
I like that Scytale effectively guides me through the compliance process for ISO 27001 audits, making it straightforward to implement necessary standards. The platform’s ability to have documents, like policies, signed directly within it is particularly convenient and efficient, streamlining an aspect that can often be cumbersome. I appreciate how it systematically collects evidence and tracks the completion of controls, ensuring thorough compliance management. Furthermore, the initial setup of Scytale was very easy for my team, as we were able to get onboarded and accustomed to the system within about an hour, showcasing its user-friendly design and accessibility.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some integrations do not always work consistently. Specifically, I experience issues with the GitLab integration, where it marks issues as not fixed even though they have already been resolved. This problem is currently being addressed, but it takes several weeks to solve, which is frustrating.

I use Scytale for ISO 27001 compliance, and it guides us through the process, with policies signed, evidence collected, and controls completed efficiently.
Great Platform and Even Better Support - Celeste Has Been Invaluable
What do you like best about the product?
What I appreciate the most is that it genuinely takes the pressure out of SOC/ISO prep (easy and fast implementation!). The automated evidence collection from our AWS environment has been particularly helpful, it has removed a lot of manual chasing. But honestly, the biggest value for us has been working with Celeste. She’s incredibly knowledgeable and keeps everything moving in a really practical, grounded way. We’ve had a few complex or unusual asks along the way, and she’s been able to guide us through all of it without making things feel heavy or bureaucratic. The whole approach has felt flexible and aligned with how we actually work, rather than forcing us into a rigid template.
What do you dislike about the product?
There isn’t much to “dislike”, but if I had to point at something, the integrations setup flow could be a bit smoother and quicker. It all works, it just takes a bit of guidance the first time around (however docs are clear, I just was overthinking it). Also, I know Scytale are planning to refresh the Control Center module, as it could use a bit of refinement - but it’s still been perfectly usable for us!

Scytale is helping us stay organized and prepared throughout our SOC/ISO work without having to build a huge internal compliance function. The automated evidence collection and the structure around policies and controls removes a lot of manual effort and “where are we with this?” back-and-forth. It also keeps us confident that we’re actually audit-ready rather than scrambling at the end. Having Celeste guide us through each piece has been a big part of the benefit - it means we always know what to do next and we’re not wasting time second-guessing how something should be approached. Overall it’s allowed us to move through compliance in a much more efficient and calm way.

How they ease our process to achieve our ISO 27001 certification. Also, our point of contact there, Laura, helped us a lot and guided us through every step with patience and professionalism.
Their platform made the compliance journey much simpler, and their team was always available to answer our questions quickly.

It takes some time to learn how to use the platform, but they improve it from time to time. Also, some work needs to be repeated in order to maintain our certification over the years.

The platform was easy to use and comprehensive.
Ashna Jeeva was very helpful and professional - she assisted me with everything I needed. We met on a weekly basis and we implemented together the controls and integrated the system to everything.
