What do you like best about the product?

It is a very powerful, collaboration tool that is easy to use. Smartsheet has always been very dedicated to its user community and is very active in continuously improving its product with enhancements that we request. A year ago, I would have said another strength of Smartsheet was its licensing model, which only charged for users that actually created sheets and other objects. Collaborators (viewers, editors and commenters) were able to use Smartsheet for free. This is all changing since they have been purchased by an investment firm and you can see the shift to more revenue focus vs. user focus.

What do you dislike about the product?

The future of Smartsheet remains to be seen with its purchase by investors and the move to restructure its licensing model. It's pretty rough when your licensing fees literally double or triple overnight. It might have been better to create a middle tier that charged a nominal fee for collaborators instead of switching from no charge to a full seat license. One of the main advantage Smartsheet used to have over its competitors was its price point, but that advantage is now gone and I can see that many organizations may be re-examining their use of Smartsheet.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

It is a powerful collaboration tool that enables both internal and external teams to interact seamlessly and in real time. Many of my projects involve implementation partners outside our organization and Smartsheet helps manage those project plans and schedules.
