Fantastic and has been key in selling our advisory services
What do you like best about the product?
Consolidated reporting across multi-currency ledgers. Being able to forecast multi-currency and across entities.
What do you dislike about the product?
Data (non financial and financial data) not flowing through between Spotlight Reporting & Forecasting. Insert pages between modules
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Increased advisory reporting and further advisory income. Ensures that we do not use excel
Fast graphically rich management accounts and forecasts
What do you like best about the product?
Spotlight reporting allows me to create management accounts at the click of a button that my clients can understand and show graphically how the business is doing, allowing us time to discuss the results.
What do you dislike about the product?
It would be great if Xero project data were also part of Spotlight Reporting
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The integration with Xero means that we can produce management accounts on demand, which allows us to spend time analysing results. Data displayed graphically is easier for non-financial managers to understand.
Great reporting solution for consolidations
What do you like best about the product?
I love the consolidation feature of Spotlight Reporting as well as the automation. I can set up the mapping of accounts one time, and the reports will update as I update QuickBooks and import through the live data source. I prepare reports for clients monthly and have confidence that everything is in the right place without spending hours manually consolidating accounts and transactions.
What do you dislike about the product?
The downside of Spotlight reporting is that the formatting isn't as customizable as I would like; the tracking reports are "backward" to what most of my clients in America are accustomed to seeing in their reporting packages. I have some issues getting a client to buy into Spotlight Reporting as a solution, but if they can get over the difference in initial formatting change, I have great success in the end.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Reporting on an entity basis and a consolidated basis in regular intervals allows for more actionable analysis. It enables a business owner or executive team to have better visibility into their business.

What do you like best about the product?
The visualization of the data is clean and concise. It allows for easy consumption of data and prevents future back and forth due to confusion or overlooking small numbers in a wide data set.
What do you dislike about the product?
The learning curve took longer than expected. Compared to our older program, this program took me a few weeks to get the hang of as opposed to less than a week for our older program. The price point is also a point of contention. Although I did not make these decisions in the group that I worked in that used this program, I do know that a lot of conversations were had about whether or not it was worth the price point compared to Power BI.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Presenting the data to my clients has become a lot more streamlined and efficient. There is less back and forth and the clients are overall happier with our work product.
