Redwood cronacle: Batch jobs scheduling tool
What do you like best about the product?
Redwood cronacle supports all kinds of formats (example CSV, HTML,excel.xml, word. XML, car file, zip etc) which most of the automation tool fails to support.
Redwood tool is built-in with features that check system health, schedule health, custom health and all job related status.

What do you dislike about the product?
theres nothing that we can say negative about redwood, as i had worked in redwood from starch i was able to understand each option and features of it very easily. only thing which comes to mind when talking about dislike is , operator messages are displayed at the home screen as well as in the operator page to check which job has caused what problem. But instead of displaying it, if there is an option to send operator mesages to mail so that anyone from redwood team can check and acknowledge the same from mail itself.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Redwood scheduler can keep job statistics as per our desired days, where as in SAP ecc holds job stats only for past 2 weeks. There is also an housekeeping job with script written inside it, which cleans past dated jobs monthly once and keeps Redwood clean.
promotion tool helps to import and export jobs from multiple 3rd part system.
can create customized filters and options of our own and can grant permission for other teammates to use the same filters and options which actaully saves time.
connection to SAP system with RFC connection string is easy.

What do you like best about the product?
It's the most advanced automation tool I have come across so far, with quick access options available on the left side saving time and energy. Its clean monitoring dashboard gives an overall view of whats working correctly and what's not working so good can be found out.
What do you dislike about the product?
many times i was keen to know about the cons of redwood software , but unable to find one as i have not been in such a situation where i need support team help ,as Redwood guide was able to solve all my queries.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Used to schedule daily,weekly,monthly, yearly batch jobs which runs the business smoothly.
used scripts to create my own reports and to create customized filters.
can add my job definition into the existing job chain to run as per requirement.

What do you like best about the product?
Redwood servers and its functionalities are the best, which consist of chains, events, time windows, submit frames, timezones etc which eases off daily workload.
Redwood servers not only can be connected with SAP ECC but also can be connected with oracle db, peoplesoft etc.

What do you dislike about the product?
so far Redwood is doing its best and also providing enhancement services as well along with troubleshooting errors. All i need to say is a seperate application for Redwood software looks better instead of using URLs in website as its URLs are suported in most of the web browser applications.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Basically a complex report can also be fetched from Redwood to show what jobs,chains , event triggered jobs are scheduled from redwood and reports can be fetched based on client requirements. Mainly there are different queues for different functional part, so can enable and disable as per the need.

I would strongly recommend Redwood software to those who are looking to purchase best automation too

What do you like best about the product?
Redwood is the software where maintenance of jobs is so easy and helps in growing of a project , because in any project jobs play a vital role and most of the major activities will be done through batch jobs only, so i feel REDWOOD is one of the best software to have in any project. When we are dealing with data and information we must be very careful in handling it, which Redwood handles better and doesnt disclose any information to 3rd party systems.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are very less points i have here, which are again ignorable. Overall rating is very good.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
All quick access options such as monitoring, environment, security, scripting, auditing helps in solving daily issues very fast and in very efficient way.
There are 380+ batch jobs scheduled in redwood and can easily be maintained. edit,submit,hold,cancel are options to modify the current scheduled job.

Redwood software manages SAP Workload
What do you like best about the product?
Redwood manages the workload of ERP platforms like SAP , oracle etc. It also has an additional feature of load balancing through nodes and can restrict the number of jobs running in parallel by entering the execution size limit in ECC queue.

whenever we are experiencing issues with the redwood system we can send log files to the redwood support team by selecting get support files at top right corner of the redwood window. Redwood software is supported in almost all web browsers, unlike other software that doesn't support it.

What do you dislike about the product?
when it comes to pros and cons.. Redwood software doesn't have much of cons but mentioning about my recent experience where i felt bit difficult to submit a job definition REST_POST_servicenowcreateincident in chains and using Snow URL to check if there are any error/failed jobs and then raise incident in Service now management. Scripting was neatly written inside the job definition which helped me a lot.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Alerting module made my day-to-day life easier, using wildcard * option i had created a process alert source for killed and error jobs to send an email alert to all the recipients in the header mail. where a large group of people knows what exactly is going on with the redwood system and anyone who acknowledges it checks for the cause of failure and fixes it. so there won't be a necessity for monitoring the system the whole time.
Redwood comes with the pre-defined feature, which actually helps in managing process, promotion module helps in importing of jobs from SAP ECC systems,fuzzy search option to search similar words, wildcard search, creating filters of user choice with pre defined status etc..

Performance and stability are great! The interface is intuitive, with a steep learning curve. You can easily orchestrate jobs across several systems and the possibilities are limitless!

Limiting the number of licensed users makes it difficult to adopt the solution in different areas of the company. High-frequency jobs should be used with caution, as they have a high impact on costs.

Redwood has multiple job scheduling options (jobs can be scheduled with event wait, they can be chained and even steps can also be added which makes user life much easier).
Overall system health and schedule health can be checked in monitoring dashboard, which shows overall count of killed,error, long event wait jobs. so no need to extract report every now and then for specific issues.

no such backdrop so far for redwood system. But there are few small things which support team needs to look into. many a times when i download report it gets downloaded in .CAR file so its difficult to convert to excel file.

Customized filters allows us to search specific job contents and also allows us to customize the column to be viewed.

1) Scheduling batch jobs from Redwood is very easy and convinient.
2) There is also a special option to set limit for background jobs to run in parallel, can set according to available memory.
3) alerting mail configuration is one of the rare settings we see in other automation tools.

can improve the integration part to raise automated tickets/incidents in service now. Redwood's customer success team is helping us out to implement this.
can add additional default time windows, and submit frames which helps in scheduling the batch job as per customer/business requirements.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Before we were using SAP CPS chronicle tool to schedule batch jobs which doesn't had user friendly interface and not flexible enough to use, But later when we shifted to redwood software everything was hazzle free and could import 100S of jobs just using a script that made our life much easier.

Compared to UC4, dynamics, and selenium this will be stand-out automation software, where even a beginner can get to know things from scratch.
As a fresher without background of testing and automation i learnt this Redwood software and did many R&Ds to make it a stable system before go live happened.

User Friendly tool
What do you like best about the product?
Mass control of jobs at one click. Also while releasing, no need to load the system at once with BTCTRNS2. We have option to release one queue at a time after maintenance and control load pushed into system
What do you dislike about the product?
missing feature to create customer defined reports. Like the ones we can create and use for finished jobs, future released jobs in a given window or jobs finished/cancelled in past window
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have been manually postponing thousands of jobs before having redwood to avoid unwanted issues with BTCTRNS1 and have changed date variants. Now it is done at one click
Superb Simplicity
What do you like best about the product?
Its very easy to use and minimal supervision is required to run the same. We can absolutely reply on the software to get our core business processes run on time with almost no expected errors.
What do you dislike about the product?
Security roles or access could be more diversified as currently we aren't able to give access to specific developers for their own objects. Right now, we have an issue that our developers aren't able to access their own objects in pre-prod or prod systems as they are assigned the developer access role, which is kind of a solid role and no changes or additions can be made to it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are running business process automation and in terms of automating the core batch processes we have been extensively benefitted and rely on the software to run the processes.
