Good product for automating data entry from a spreadsheet into a ERP system

  • July 29, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Flexibility/Scalability of Redwood was a great feature. We easily integrated with in-house ERP system along with other company applications to combine into a single summarized output.
What do you dislike about the product?
Business users struggled to build their own Bots for simple daily tasks they hoped to automate. Were looking for more screen scraping abilities to accomplish these. We were able to resolve everything they asked for with Redwood but required a developer to intervene.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Finance automation - data entry from a spreadsheet, merge ERP application data, create journal entry and provide supporting evidence upon completion.

Redwood was quality to leverage a spreadsheet template as starting point. Filled in the blanks via Redwood running ERP queries and merge with the template.

Leveraged parameters to make processes flexible and allow them to run as multipurpose robots.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Security flexibility was a significant obstacle - part of due to SOX requirements at my company but primarily due to ability to limit access to business users and allow them to run only their Bots but still allow them to monitor the status of the Bot in control center. This may be due to a lack of Redwood security expertise and if that is the case could have used more robust support for security issue resolution. Redwood is difficult for business users to build their own Bots. The delivered process definitions were in some cases easy to use but the majority were difficult for end users without a development/technical background.

Works very well with SAP systems for process automation

  • July 27, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The application is built into SAP ecosystem, so it enables process automation by managing background processes and integrates well with our SAP systems. It performs reasonably well and stable throughout the years of improvements of the product.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is no out of the box capabilities to make mass changes/removal/maintenance of scheduling data and object definitions.
Role based authorization is not robust enough for complex organizational requirements.
There is no out of the box analytical data reporting to provide insights.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our organization was looking for centralized platform to manage all our key SAP systems' background processes. BPA enables process automation by managing background processes across system landscape for our key SAP systems.

RPA at its finest

  • July 21, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The Redwood Automation software has helped us in process standardization as well as consistent automation. The setup and usage of the Redwood software is very easy and straight forward. We really like that this is not a screen scrapping tool but it actually executes the T-Code as a user would thus providing great security as well as performance. Redwood stands out in the field of RPA software.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is really not anything that stands out as a negative of the Redwood Software for me, it provides the required functionality and ease of use we need.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
With the Redwood Software we are able to realize time savings and data accuracy with our Balance Sheet Certification process. It provides a good user interface to perform the certification process and stream lines needed controls that are in place to meet compliance requirements.
Recommendations to others considering the product:

What do you like best about the product?
It is reliable.

Once you correctly configure want is required, you can just leave it to run.
What do you dislike about the product?
In the documentation, it is sometimes hard to find exactly what you are looking for, you get too many responses to the search . Better basic examples, with screen shots would help you get started when trying features that are new to you.
