What do you like best about the product?
For over 9 years, we've leveraged Stonebranch as our go-to enterprise scheduler, orchestrating over 2000 workflows spanning data warehouse operations, SAP tasks, replication, cloud data synchronization, data quality scripts, and more. The tool offers exceptional workflow visualization and insightful canned reports, delivering comprehensive task details. Additionally, we've seamlessly integrated custom KPIs utilizing its repository tables. Thanks to its intuitive GUI, two new team members quickly mastered Stonebranch skills in record time.
What do you dislike about the product?
The current version of the product lacks the ability to display multiple-layer nested workflows comprehensively in a single diagram. Instead, it only supports a single workflow where all the components are interconnected with a single line. As a result, when dealing with scenarios involving multiple related and interdependent workflows, such as 10 workflows in tandem, the visualization falls short of providing a clear and comprehensive view of the entire process flow.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It helps us organize automate, and schedule a wide variety of tasks. it is our enterprise scheduling tool.

Workload automation made simple

  • March 16, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I love the way you can create workflows using a GUI. It makes them very easy to understand for our non-technical end users. The ability to see a visual representation of a running workflow makes it easy for my team to respond when we are asked about downstream processes that might be affected by an issue.
What do you dislike about the product?
Troubleshooting issues is difficult due to the many logs/locations. An event/logging console would make this much easier.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have automated thousands of manual task and processes, and greatly reduced errors. We have converted hundreds of shell scripts into UAC tasks, which has made them easy to restart and overcome issues.

Good Product for SAP and Non SAP Workload Automation

  • February 21, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Stonebranch Support and response is great right from day 1 we engaged for product selection. Solution engineers were able to address the issues and queries we raised and provided the right solution within the time we requested. Agents are simple to install and easy to manage. Universal template and task gave us the excellent scope to automate the workload and provide out of box solution for SAP, S3 bucket, Azure, mulesoft and more. Restful API and easy integration to other ticketing reduces lot of manual work. Issues are notified to the right people on real time. Various triggers and versatile task types helps in dynamic scheduling by launching the task only when needed, for instance when a SAP event is raised or based on the file arrival etc.
What do you dislike about the product?
XCT for TWS migration to Stonebranch development needs to have features which allows customers to select the options which fits their need.
Multiple version of software are released within a year which forces the product upgrade frequently.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Splitting of multiple SAP steps into unique task and creating workflow for those multi-step jobs helped the business to recover from the point where it has failed.
Universal template reduces the need of various connector and saves lot of license cost.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Solution required to fit your business needs using standard agents and universal task and development effort required for universal template has to be taken into count.

Migration from TWS(OPC) to Universal Automation Center

  • February 12, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
We were migrating from Mainframe TWS to UAC. Stonebranch support was tremendous. They knew the answers to our worries, before we raised them. As they knew both products and was very experienced in migration projects, I felt in very good hands throughout the project. No issue or concern were too small to be taken seriously, and we were more than ready to continue business as usual, when Stonebranch left the project.
What do you dislike about the product?
I cannot find anything I dislike about Stonebranch!

But it is very important that you adopt the mindset of their product strictly follow this to not mess up your environment. Will be hard to use the product without getting proper education.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Complex batch production made for mainframe and TWS over a decade. With the help from Stonebranch, we managed to simulate TWS and run 'as-is' after migration from TWS to UAC.

How to get old technology in to the future...

  • February 11, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
All tools can be installed in all enviroments. If it's z/OS, AIX, linux, windows,... there is a solution for every platform. Without these tools from Stonebranch we would not be able to connect all these diferent worlds.
In comparision with other workload automation companies, Stonebranch is a payable good alternative. they listen to our requirements and are flexible and solution oriented.
I hope we can help to improve the software and learn from each other during our migration project of our workload automation enviroment.
I like the familiar and uncomplicated contact with the team. Support acts quickly and knows his stuff.
What do you dislike about the product?
Universal Controller; The GUI of the universal controller is really outdated. The Design should be modern. On the first look it seems like an outdated product - which technicaly it is not. The overall arrangement of all options could be more intuitive and more user-friendly.
Some things like a connection to git hub and for example regional holidays for calanders should be build in the software and autmaticly be updated. Overall it should be more implemented out of the box (eg. templates).
The Documentation of the installation of an OMS-Server is too little. There is no best-practice documentation.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
With the Tool UDM we have been able to manage all our Filetranfer from and between our mainframe and the distributed world. Also we use this tool and UCMD to automate a lot of distributed servers scheduled via our central scheduling software IWS.
With UDM-Gateway we give our costumers the posibility exchange files via HTTPS and SFTP.
At the moment we are implementing the Workload Automation Enviroment. Our Goal is to migrate another distributed Scheduler Software from our subsidiary and later on replace our current scheduling software IWS.
