Intuitive Reporting with Easy Exports, But Support and Scheduling Need Work
What do you like best about the product?
I appreciate how Pixel perfect reports can be generated with ease, and how simple it is to schedule and export them in various formats. Jasper Studio is an intuitive platform to generate the reports and easily integrates with jasper server.
What do you dislike about the product?
Customer support is not very knowledgeable and sometimes fails to provide adequate solutions. There is significant room for improvement in the way ad hocs and schedules function.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Jaspersoft is making progress in enhancing their security and architecture, which is beneficial for the overall infrastructure.
Practical, Cost-Effective Reporting Solution for Organizations
What do you like best about the product?
It strikes a very practical balance between power, flexibility, and cost, especially for organizations that need embedded or operational reporting rather than heavy BI overhead
What do you dislike about the product?
The UI feels old compared to modern BI tools. Report and dashboard designers are not very intuitive for business users.

Easy Setup, Top-Notch Support
What do you like best about the product?
I find installing and configuring Jaspersoft quite easy, and their documentation is quite good. They are quite quick in resolving issues, which is really helpful when we have our weekly calls about any challenges we face. When we needed to customize a feature for single sign-on with Oracle Access Manager, Jaspersoft was able to quickly accommodate this need with a fast turnaround.
What do you dislike about the product?
The documentation for applying Jaspersoft patches needs to be a bit clearer. It doesn't tell you what you need to run when you are applying the patch on an existing installation.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Jaspersoft helps convert Cognos reports, provides easy installation and configuration, and offers quick issue resolution with customization options.
Highly Efficient with Some UI Drawbacks
What do you like best about the product?
I like Jaspersoft's high performance and find it easy to use. It's great for generating high-quality, customized reports with charts using parameters. We can quickly create reports using templates we've made, then inject the SQL and they're ready to publish online. When in production, these reports run quickly and efficiently. The initial setup of Jaspersoft was straightforward and we didn't face any issues with installation or upgrades. The learning curve was good, which was encouraging.
What do you dislike about the product?
Designing complex reports in Jaspersoft can be time-consuming, especially for advanced layouts or conditional logic. Reports that run on a large dataset can be slow without careful query optimization and tuning. The UI of Jaspersoft Studio and the web interface feel dated compared to more modern reporting tools, which can impact usability.

I use Jaspersoft to generate high-quality, customized reports with charts, making it quick to create reports using pre-created templates and SQL for fast online publishing.

I feel like the UI and usability of Jaspersoft could be improved. The interface feels somewhat dated and can be unintuitive for some new users. Another thing is the learning curve; while powerful, Jaspersoft has a steep learning curve, especially for advanced features like custom expressions and custom queries.

I use Jaspersoft for operational reporting, generating detailed, data-driven reports that support business processes and decision-making. Its flexibility and integration capabilities, allowing connection to many data sources, along with REST APIs for customization, are invaluable for automation and embedding.

What do you like best about the product?
I am able to create reports with a range of options and formats, and I can customize the Jasper servers according to my needs, including configuring different settings to enable or disable features.
What do you dislike about the product?
I am expecting a much more flexible report and dashboard design with the latest components, and also expecting the AI features and suggestions, as like other reports and BI tools.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have been using Jasper Reports in our application for around 10 years in a row, to provide the reports and dashboards to the customers and solve the customer needs, but still we can't fully satisfy the customer with the needs due to the limitations.
