Nonexistent support, poor handling of password updates

  • November 19, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The general user interface (except for new site paswords and password updates) is clean and easy to use. Also, the integration with Windows Hello and mobile device biometric security is quite good.
What do you dislike about the product?
Extremely poor, nearly non-existent support. They seem to be cutting corners like everyone else and just trying to make other customers support their product instead of doing it themselves. The support process in the web UI is intentionally obfuscatory, pushing the user away from finding anything other than generic help articles or other customers (who are also generally complaining about their poor support).

Password updates or new website accounts are handled extremely badly by their browser plugin. LastPass is old and awful, but at least they would PROMP users to add or update passwords. 1Password makes it a voluntary process. You must actively, manually save the password BEFORE the password is even accepted by whatever site you’re updating. We’ve found that users have a very low success rate using this part of the platform, and with good reason. It’s horribly designed and poorly implemented on the provider’s part.

Their password sharing between team members is very bad as well. Folder-level, in-app password sharing is a standard in the industry, but they only have temporary, email-initiated sharing unless you want to pay through the nose for their "enterprise" level product (not something we're interested in).

But it seems 1Password is unlikely to do anything about it, particularly since they apparently have no support staff to pass these issues along to management and development.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Really hasn't done anything our previous company password manager couldn't do, and we've lost a lot of functionality. Even though the UI and biometric integration represent an improvement over LastPass, everything else is worse.

1Password is the best password manager I've ever used.

What do you like best about the product?
1Password's navigation (valuts) makes it really easy to group related passwords together.
What do you dislike about the product?
I get kicked out of my account more often that I would like. I understand it is for security purposes but it does mean it takes a bit longer to get to my passwords.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
1Password allows me to have much stronger passwords that I wouldn't usually be able to remember.

So Much Better Than LastPass

  • October 31, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Extensions actually work. No more clicking and re-clicking trying to figure out why the LastPass app is not showing up.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish you could share logins without directly giving the other person the password.
With that being said 1Password is pushing PassKey, and that will fix everything.
Just need things to evolve faster.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We can now easily share important information with team members.

inconsistently positive experience

What do you like best about the product?
It is nice when it works to fill in passwords, since it saves time.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are many instances where options for logins do not pop up, and there is no clear way to initiate that. The same goes for sites where I want to pay with a saved credit card. I have to come up with workarounds like reopening pages several times. Very frustrating for what I pay!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It is helping save time in some cases, and gradually helping me have more secure passwords.

Storing, sharing, securing sensitive credentials and websites

What do you like best about the product?
I like how it integrates well with my Mac and the browser extensions.
What do you dislike about the product?
Confusing if you want to sign up for their non-US servers and difficult to change if you sign up for the wrong one.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It so easy to use and unlocks with FaceID and my physical USB key. So easy to use.

The best password manager / Life changing

  • October 27, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like that there are numerous features to make account security very convenient while making it more secured. I use it almost on a daily basis. Customer support replies under less than 30 minutes usually. It is very user-friendly.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing,

However, a suggestion would be a Sync feature that can collect verification codes from push notification in all devices and send it accros other synched devices. Example I am on my laptop connecting ti a website that is sending me a verification code to my phone. On my phone I have 1 password app installed and it would read all the push notification to extract the code and send it to the other device and autofill or providing as a filling suggestion. Not sure if this is possible but that'd be great.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
NA

What do you like best about the product?
It is reliable. Works on so many platforms. Nice built in two factor auth code generator!
What do you dislike about the product?
The hassle of putting is your master password can be difficult. The integration between Linux app and Firefox extension isn't great yet. It takes a while to load the page to edit login deets.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It stores my passwords, credit cards, and important documents (passport, other IDs, banking info...)

Time Saving's Best Kept Secret

  • October 27, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Recognizes log-ins to update when you change a password
Easy to download and install
Great range of categories in the vault
What do you dislike about the product?
This may be ignorance but it seems to save log-ins without username and link.
Mobile app is not as user friendly
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Security is the number one problem it has solved for us.
Remembering multiple passwords or having the same password across platforms is a thing of the past
