What do you like best about the product?
Algolia delivers what they promise. And their team is always there to help us to reach our goals.
What do you dislike about the product?
The speed of Algolia puts pressure on our other systems to perform in the same pace.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Delivering correct products and search results in the correct time and place for our customers

One of the best E-Commerce Product Discovery solution

  • August 17, 2022
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Easy to configure and implement in Web and Mobile Apps. Results are very fast.
Rules, AI Re-Ranking and Personalization are the best features.
What do you dislike about the product?
Licensing model - It becomes expensive when search requests increase as it charges on each search request.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our previous search was quite slow and the results were not personalized. With Algolia search results are coming in milliseconds and they are relevant.

Outstanding Search Service

  • August 17, 2022
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The built-in integration with Laravel Scout and Algolia.
What do you dislike about the product?
Large models must be chunked into multiple components.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
With Laravel and Algolia we were able to very quickly implement a full-featured incredibly responsive search solution for our web application with analytics, reporting, and backend features like synonym salting.

Takes the headache out of managing search infrastructure

  • August 16, 2022
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
For the most part is it just plug-and-play. It has good packages for integrating with Ruby on Rails and Laravel which makes firing data off easy. Being able to control search preferences inside Algolia rather than in code makes it easy to see what options are available but also tinker in realtime.
What do you dislike about the product?
Pricing - it becomes prohibitively expensive as the number of records goes up. This is a result of paying per record rather than paying for CPU capacity or bandwidth. For use-cases with millions of records I've had to consider other options.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It makes searching for our users (and site administrators) super easy - it fixes for typos, handles fuzzy searching and queries multiple columns easily. It takes the load off our SQL database performing complex queries and gives better and faster results to our customers.

All in all a great service with tiny glitches

  • August 16, 2022
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It was a joy implementing Algolia, and once I got the hang of it, and got what I needed out of it, I was amazed by the speed of the service, and the ease of use of the web app. It's great to see so much gifted to us in the free tier plan.
What do you dislike about the product?
It occasionally had smaller glitches, but mostly display issues on the web app (like text covering buttons), but nothing that could not be worked around easily. One bug downside: cannot search for the inexistence of fields/values.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use firebase and it has no string search, so we were looking for an alternative, and Algolia has solved that problem perfectly, and for a very good price as well.

Algolia let us move forward in our development with state of the art search technology

  • August 16, 2022
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like Algolia because I do not even need a database to have a fast search service
What do you dislike about the product?
Maybe the pricing, but it delivers a lot of value and has a quite robust free tier
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Algolia powers our search functionality, and products recommendations as well. The implementation was quite easy and the service works ultra fast

Really easy to implement, it takes a bit to master

  • August 16, 2022
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The documentation is awesome. It was really easy to start a search experience on my app. I just inserted the libraries and followed the 5 minute tutorial and I was ready for a production launch.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sadly some examples on the website docs are not totally clear or they lack more applied examples. I'll like to have demos for each possible scenario or caveat of the API of algolia. but either way is really useful as it is
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I'm using search results as an autocomplete based on a knowledge base I created from user documents, algolia is making all the hard work and helping me with the searching and autocompletion

Enterprise search available for small sites--but not plug and play

  • August 16, 2022
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Algolia delivers fast, quality results and the WordPress plugin, offered by a third-party developer on wordpress.org, makes it possible to install this on any WordPress site with relative ease. The Algolia team provides support as well, though of course they won't build your search experience for you without an additional support plan.
What do you dislike about the product?
I am unable to tweak much about the search experience without hiring a developer. Even the developers we have hired were unable to configure Algolia to take advantage of the site's custom fields and weighting preferences.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We were using an excellent WordPress self-hosted search plugin (paid) but that ran on our own server. Algolia takes the load on their own servers and comes with some pre-built filters.

An awesome search experience

  • August 16, 2022
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The flexibility, scalability, and ease of use are the biggest draws. Algolia's willingness and ability to partner with nonprofits through its Algolia for Open Source program is an amazing offer.
What do you dislike about the product?
Admittedly, very, very little. The hardest thing so far has been integrating Algolia with our WordPress site, but the documentation is helpful and thorough in making it possible.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have dozens of references to identical information (e.g. "Region __") and the flexible nature of Algolia's search abilities and the ability to target or limit search queries to certain sections of our site's data is incredibly helpful.

Flexible, powerful API driven search features

  • August 16, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The flexibility of Algolia I think is one of its greatest strengths. On the server side, their SDKs are easy to use, but I've also found the raw REST API endpoints simple enough as well. On the client side, I like that they have a library for UI components but also allow you to do the UI completely yourself, and just hit the APIs for searching.
What do you dislike about the product?
I've found little to truly dislike. I have seen that in some cases, the parts of the product that are NOT free, are sometimes not properly explained. For example, when trying to test the Crawler product, I remember the error message wasn't clear that it was part of the paid tier only. That's a minor complaint though.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I manage a large content site (six thousand plus blog posts), and Algolia provides an awesome search interface to that and makes it easier for my readers to find content. Heck, it helps me find stuff in my own content as well.
