Effortless CFD, simulations made easy

  • February 26, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
SimScale is cloud-based and runs through the browser. It has an intuitive UI, a straightforward simulation setup, and built-in checks to ensure input matches output. They provide an extensive library of recorded webinars, tutorials, sample projects, and rich documentation to get you started. There are also many community projects to explore.

The platform offers great support, including the option for video sessions. It is easy to use and implement, as it does not require any hardware. Multiple simulations can be run simultaneously. Having SimScale allows us to rapidly validate cases and assumptions, providing insights that we previously could not obtain.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some features are still under development such as CAD preparations. There are some support for it today, but it has room for improvement.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Pressure loss in pipe systems

Nice and easy to use simulation program in the cloud

  • February 26, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Simscale is easy to use and you can run your simulations in the cloud. This is nice because you can remain work or shut down your computer while the simulation is still running.
What do you dislike about the product?
No dislikes found yet during use of Simscale.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We can determine the risks easy on forehand. This saves costs and time on the back.

Simscale - An excellent design companion

  • February 25, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Server based processing is excellent for freeing up my pc's processing power, allowing me to complete design tasks in parallel with simulation work.

Speed of receiving results allows me to iterate designs quickly.

Customer support is always fast and very helpful.
What do you dislike about the product?
Meshing controls can be slightly generic at times - slider control is quite vague when setting mesh size.

CAD editing features have improved in recent times but still can be a little clunky when editing models. It would be nice to be able to section the models when defining constraints also.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Outsourcing simulation computing resource is very useful for a small organisation such as ours, where time is limited and results need to happen quickly!

Easy to learn, Simple to master

  • February 25, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Intuitive user interface, easy to learn. Once you've learnt your process it's so easy!
What do you dislike about the product?
Id like more tools to use on CFD studies. Especially more powerful post processing, like Paraview.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
As a student, CFD solutions can be far too expensive, not simscale.

An easy access and enjoyable application

  • February 24, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
There is great accessibility to the software which is crucial for beginners and students. Additionally, the cloud based services allow me to be more flexible with my work, I can allocate my systems memory towards other tasks while the cloud service performs my analysis work.
What do you dislike about the product?
Despite their being examples and articles providing advice or knowledge, more could be done. This would make the software more appealing to universities.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I have CFD analysis work as part of my course aswell as student team. I generally run compressible flow simulations on aircraft

Lots of support available, great for learning!

  • February 24, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The best part of Simscale for me is the user experience - it's easy to use and intuitive. The support available is great. The tutorials are very very helpful and I learned a great deal through them, especially considering this is my first time using CFD.
What do you dislike about the product?
So far I've experienced the issue of not being able to progress from where I've left off. My current project already had an external flow volume saved, boundary conditions and everything set up. I opened it again the next day and the flow volume disappeared, meaning I have to start over.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Analysis for my own research project

My First Experience Working with an Online Analysis Tool

  • February 21, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
This was my first experience using an analysis software that operates entirely through a web-based platform rather than a fully installed program on my computer.

Two aspects of SimScale truly impressed me in a very positive way.

First, the technical support team has been outstanding. They were always available to answer my questions with great efficiency and kindness. As a user, it is incredibly reassuring to know that I can rely on real professionals who provide immediate and personalized assistance whenever needed.

Second, the cloud-based nature of SimScale is a game-changer. Since all computations run on SimScale’s servers, I can perform complex simulations and manage large projects from any of my devices quickly and easily, without installing any software or needing high-end hardware. The ability to work from anywhere, without being tied to a fixed workstation, makes SimScale an invaluable tool for multiphysics analysis.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wouldn’t say there’s anything I dislike about SimScale, but there are certainly a few areas that could be improved.

So far, I have only used SimScale for FEA and don’t have extensive hours on the platform yet. However, one of the first things I noticed is that whenever I want to modify a 3D file (such as simplifying the geometry) I always have to create a new copy instead of editing the existing file. It would be great to have the option to work directly on the same model without duplicating it.

Additionally, while SimScale offers excellent simplification tools, I found it more convenient to simplify 3D models in CAD software before importing them into SimScale. Enhancing these built-in simplification tools could make the workflow even smoother.

Regarding meshing, I would love to have more control over the mesh type selection, such as choosing between tetrahedral or hexahedral elements, as well as having more options to fine-tune mesh settings.

Lastly, one significant improvement would be expanding the materials catalog. Considering the wide range of metal alloys and the different heat treatments they can undergo, a more comprehensive selection would be highly beneficial.

I look forward to revisiting this feedback in a few months, once I have gained more experience with the platform and can provide a more in-depth perspective.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Within our company, we have used SimScale for structural, thermal, and vibrational analysis, consistently achieving accurate results in a highly effective, fast, and efficient manner. The learning curve is remarkably low, allowing our team to quickly adapt to the platform without spending weeks on training. This ease of use has enabled us to integrate SimScale into our workflow seamlessly, making it a valuable tool for our engineering projects.

The team was very helpful in my projects and in places where I had difficulties.

  • February 17, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The interface is easy to use, I can get a quick response from technical support and they are very helpful, the simulations are finished in a short time and since I do it over the cloud, it does not occupy my computer.
What do you dislike about the product?
The primitive geometries are few and difficult to place.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
So far it has solved a lot of airflow simulations and temperature related tasks.
