Moving to the Hosted version was a blitz.
What do you like best about the product?
At this moment for me the move to the hosted version was the best move done in years. For us the tracking of all tests and problems related to a requirement is an absolute must and this is ensured well enough.
What do you dislike about the product?
As an Admin I would like to see some changes in password management and more details collecting user data. Also the support towards our usergroup is ok but could be much better, also missing which direction we could go for solutions it's always us asking JAMA. Never do we get advise on how to change our structure(s) on how to make better use of the system.
Secondy is the limitation of the reporting as long as we stay with the office reporting it is OK, but if you need to use more detailed reports then it is getting much to complicated.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Connection and Tracking of Requirements to tests, problems and changes
Great Requirements Management Tool
What do you like best about the product?
Jama Connect allows us to maintain and easily export our software requirement specifications. I often use the search and version history features to quickly reference requirements from previous projects. I also am able to make bulk changes with ease.
What do you dislike about the product?
Jama Connect doesn't have a feature that allows us to create redlined requirement exports. Certain changes, like moving around the order of requirements, takes a few moments to process.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Jama gives us one version controlled space to maintain our entire requirements repository. I am able to run targeted search queries to identify requirements that are missing up or downstream traces.
JAMA Review
What do you like best about the product?
Easy to track DIs, requirements, and test cases
What do you dislike about the product?
Organization can get messy and folders become hard to manage
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
One consolidated location for requirements and reviews
Tracing of requirements to their tests. The custom filters are useful for batch updates and searches
What do you like best about the product?
It helps in identifying requirements that have not been linked to their parent or children requirements. It also helps in identifying which requirements have no testing associated with it.
What do you dislike about the product?
If a requirement is deleted in a child project, there is no provision of automatically syncing this deletion back to master project. The requirement has to be manually deleted in master project as well.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Management and tarcing of thousands and thousands of requirements in excel was problematic. Jama is able to automatically do this for us and identify orphan requirements and requirements not linked to any tets cases
Illumina JAMA user review
What do you like best about the product?
I really like JAMA's ability and flexibility in keeping a large number of requirements (among other things) organized, as well as it's connectivity to JIRA and other Atlassian software.
What do you dislike about the product?
The software can feel really slow at times. The short timeout before it logs you out is also frequently annoying. I don't think I have any major complaints besides these minor usability factors.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Not sure if this falls under your company's side of things or mine, but I have heard of some adjustements that will be made such that we can use JAMA requirements as a source of truth themselves, instead of having to export everything into SAP/Teamcenter. Really looking forward to that one!
From complex document based requirements to item based requirements easily with Jama Connect
What do you like best about the product?
Comming from a document based requirement handling our company was always had difficulties when it came to creating new requirment for products, both in case of brand new and variant product.
Jama Connect was easy to get started and integrate into our work life. It immediately provided us with greate traceablity between our requirements.
The review process previously took many meeting now with the Review Center feature people can do it any time and it is easy to cooperate with comments and in field edits.
The reuse option helps us to get started with product variants much faster compared to previous times.

What do you dislike about the product?
Due to the many available feature in Jama Connect, you need to prepare and allocate reasources that can investigate/design and build your requirement managment system. For us due to the inexperience in requirement handling in the company sometimes it was difficult to figure out how to get from one step to the next.
Since it is a tool that can do many things (if not all) that you need for requirement handling it is on the more expensive side.
Luckly Jama supports us with their knowledge and consulting.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our main issue was traceability from customer to product and to test. Jama connect provides excellent solution for all of these problems.
Review, test managment, reuse are all greate features that made these much easier compared to the way we handled it before.

What do you dislike about the product?
-The %of requirements coverage can't be seen live in the trace view of the tool: a report has to be exported.
-To compare baselines you need to export a report: it's not possible to have a live comparaison in the tool.
-The 'sync items' view to compare reused variants in Jama is slower in terms of loading. We can't create a filter based on the 'sync status' which may be a specific need however, it was an important one to us at a certain time.
-The test management feature is less intuititive than the requirements' one.

Good for requirements management and test tracking, lacks in project tracking and customization
What do you like best about the product?
Jama is great for requirements management and traceability to requirements, test cases and other objects you may have in your workflow. Customization is relatively easy to set up new times and relationships.
What do you dislike about the product?
The Project Dashboard capabilities are fairly limiting and customization of the dashboard is minimal. You aren't able to report on the same field across mixed types which is really annoying which makes you so have to create separate graphs which really clutters the dashboard. For some reason they decided to change the test terminology and call a "test run" the execution of a single test case and a "test cycle" what most other call a test run which is the execution of a collection of test cases.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Jama connect solves the requirements review and approval process allowing you to easily setup requirements reviews to be reviewed offline which helps when working in different locations or timezones. Traceability to other objects is great to ensure you have test coverage for all of your requirements.
Versatile Requirements Management tool
What do you like best about the product?
Possibility to adapt projects and items to everyone's needs. Very useful review center which increases collaboration. Possibility to integrate with other tools.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes the support team is very slow or doesn't read all of the information provided from customer. Resource taxing tool on the server side and client side. No mobile support.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Good environment for project document and testing management. Gives the opportunity to integrate the product with other tools so you don't have to work with multiple tools saving time and resources.
Excellent tool for requirements management.
What do you like best about the product?
Effective tool for requirements management. Easy to demonstrate compliance with processes and track requirements through approval and implementation.
What do you dislike about the product?
User and data analytics are simplistic. The data is available and requires involvement from the professional services team or your account executive. Recovery from accidental deletion can be painful.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Requirements management as a process. What do we mean by a requirement, how we specify requirements details, what the approval and tracking of requirements through the lifecycle of a product, and so on.
This gives us a single source of truth for requirements in our product workflow.
