Working as MicroStrategy Developer
What do you like best about the product?
The tool is very helpful for Big Data Analytics . The Hypercards and Dossiers are the wonderful applications to work.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some features like Timestamp on the Dossiers does not reflect the Current Time. basically it shows the date and time where the server is located.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The Insights to users with the adhoc report requests like exporting files in excel formats.

What do you like best about the product?
Microstrategy is a tool Easy to use. Friendly and esay to manage. Our users are happy to use it.
What do you dislike about the product?
It is very difficult to Install and configure the tool. The tool require a good hardware to use. Required a lot of memory.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Used need access to data. With Microstrategy we get it.
A powerful BI tool for business insights
What do you like best about the product?
The tool has drag and drop feature which enables me to just create objects and add them to the reports. This saves me from writing complex sql queries

It has some limitations while working with large datasets and need additional bigdata handelling offerings

I create datamart reports to identify members who are at high risks for my insurance based client

Its a go to tool if you want to create dashboards for business indights

Administration on Linux based servers is tedious.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We processes million of records each day. MicroStrategy Analytics helps us produce readable and meaningful reporting from that data.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Use quality hardware if you're running entirely in house. If you're going to implement cubes, plan ahead for memory and storage growth on your Intelligence servers.
Excellent full-featured Enterprise BI platform
What do you like best about the product?
Very strong core Enterprise BI capability - ability to work easily across different devices and formats (with particularly strong mobile offering), great platform administration and security features, flexibility and capability in data modelling. Data Discovery capability in Dossier is also very strong. Integration with D3 library and native visualisations also work very well. Also, great connectors pack and ability to integrate via API, great Data Science integration with production models built in R.
What do you dislike about the product?
Don't have any real dislikes to mention.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Decision support at all levels of the organisation, the need to make information and insight available to our field teams on a mobile device, exec information systems, business problems relating to forecasting and analytics. Multi-million pound cost and time savings as well as new opportunities.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Build a solid reporting layer in your DataWarehouse to get the best out of MSTR as a front-end tool (like other BI front-end tools), but MSTR can also plug gaps in the reporting layer through building cubes etc.
I have been working with MicroStrategy for more than 15 years and it is always evolving.
What do you like best about the product?
It is a very easy tool to use. And it takes very little effort for users to use it.
What do you dislike about the product?
Its limited relationship with all SAP products.

We use the boards a lot, part of the tool that gives us many benefits and satisfactions.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It is a tool that I recommend for both large and small companies, although the cost would be high, I believe the benefits are many.

What do you like best about the product?
We like the dossiers and the several visualizations. The sales man is very friendly. All departament in our company use it.
What do you dislike about the product?
The upgrades, we think that some updates are very complicated to install in linux enviroment. Some manuals are obsolet.

Share our datas to all employees.

Iam using this tool since 4 years it has good graphs and visulizations and very fast in executing reports and dashboarda

Fantastic enterprise grade BI software
What do you like best about the product?
Enterprise level reporting and dashboarding. After building the data model, it's easy for users to put together their own reports. Visual insights is good for ad-hoc analysis. Distribution services very useful for emailing reports to customers on a daily basis.
What do you dislike about the product?
It takes a bit of time to get everything setup and requires a knowledgeable architect, so the cost of implementation is front loaded. A few bugs here and there but MicroStrategy does a pretty good job at releasing updates and fixing them quickly.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Converted all of our systems of records to one central repository. Mobile dashoarding and altering for fast response times. Emailed reports on a daily basis for up-to-date information for action insights managers. Closed loop implementations with write-back to the database via transaction services.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Contact MicroStrategy sales for a free demo or proof of concept. The sales engineers there are up front and honest, and will tell you if they think it's useful and cost effective for your business. Hiring a good implementation consultant is key to creating a successful long term application, don't skimp on initial costs or it will hurt you down the line.
