GoReact, the best time coded video feedback system available
What do you like best about the product?
I like the ability to give time-coded feedback to students. It is the only video that lets me give feedback while I see the stimulus the student is responding to while I see their response. Feedback can be given in multimedia formats, text, video, pictures, attachments, etc. I like the ability to add rubrics and badges to streamline feedback. I am really impressed with GoReact's willingness to add new features when requested by their users.
What do you dislike about the product?
The pay scale is reasonable for students. However, it is not adaptable to occasional use. I feel the cost is worth it if it is used for multiple assignments and assessments. However, I struggle to justify the cost when I only use it for one or two assessments in a semester. I wish there were an occasional use version for multiple courses in the same semester. If your university or institution buys a site license, then this will not be an issue.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use GoReact for ASL teaching, ASL Assessment, and ASL Interpreter Training. We have fewer problems using GoReact than we did with solutions based in our local lab. We have enabled students to use ubiquitous technologies to accomplish what we previously were only able to do in the lab. We also simplified the student's workflow, reducing the time required by students to complete the same tasks. GoReact reduced the time by half for some tasks.
Online Observations Made Easy
What do you like best about the product?
I like the ability to observe my student teachers on-line from any location.
What do you dislike about the product?
My own learning curve. As a "mature" teacher, it took me a little while first to get use to observing students online and not in classrooms and second how to effectively use the tools provided by GoReact.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
GoReact enables me to see my students as soon as they have uploaded their lessons. I am able to use Markers (from my educational instution) and comments to support my students in real time. Students are able to see my comments which are posted during the video.
GoREACT is my go to application for training interpreters.
What do you like best about the product?
My favorite feature is being able to comment via signing, speaking, or text time-linked to the interpretation I am analyzing. I like the ease of uploading YouTube videos. I like the fact that it is student-friendly and I have many options for types of use--student posted, faculty-posted, etc. I use them all. The support from GoREACT has also been very consistent and thorough. They have even come and given presentations several times to staff learning about using it. Every year, I came to GoREACT with a new list of needs and they acted on most of them. That is impressive. If I go to a conference they are usually there and give me time to discuss features, etc. I love the fact that there are Deaf staff! Finally, they are great about interacting with my university as well. This is our first year where the University has contracted with GoREACT and it has been a big hit in both signed and spoken language classes. I love the markers.
What do you dislike about the product?
There seem to be some new incompatibilities that require use of different browsers to view videos when linked to a learning platform like BrightSpace. For example, one student will find that sound doesn't work unless they are in Chrome and another will find that video doesn't work unless they are in FireFox. I guess I would like it if my personal account and the one I use via BrightSpace could interact more.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Problems: Using GoREACT with the entire class simultaneously, without one or two people hitting a Glitch, usually tied to browser incompatibility. However, it is never the case that choice of one browser solves all problems.
GoReact has allowed me to involve much more individualized hands on interpreting work in my classes. Because of the ease of GoREACT, I have found that I can require more work from my students and can assess that work more thoroughly and easily.

Recommendations to others considering the product:
For use with any signed language related teaching or project GoREACT is the CHAMP.
GoReact for Virtual Supervision and more
What do you like best about the product?
Goreact's ease of use and help section. The make it very easy to share web links for pdf with users. The ability to assign rubrics to the videos make it easier to keep consistency when they are being reviewed.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not a lot. It is a great tool. I do think some of the terminology can be a little confusing when talking about the types of videoing options.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
With everything going virtual we have had to have our supervisors do virtual viewing of classroom. It allows them to see what is going on and grade the students. It has also been a cost savior do to no traveling.
GoReact is a fantastic program!
What do you like best about the product?
As an ASL professor, it gives me the opportunity to comment on things students are doing well and on students' errors. It allows me to speed up the video to match a normal speed of conversation as well to slow it down to catch a specific part of a sign that would not have been visible upon normal viewing or in person. It keeps a record of students' progress for review later or for verification if a student was to come back later about their grade. Best of all, I'm able to make comments (I use video and text) to tell or show students something specific on their video. There are a great deal of features in the rubrics and they allow you a lot of flexibility in grading. Sometimes I grade by specific prompts and then have checkboxes for errors and other times I grade overall on language features. They're always innovating and improving and are extremely supportive and open to feedback.
What do you dislike about the product?
It takes time to set-up the rubrics to get the full use of all of the features, but it is really worth it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
With GoReact, I have a standardized rubric that I am able to use for all students making grading much more objective and focused. Unlike providing feedback in-person (whether I'm teaching traditional, hybrid, or fully online), I am able to give thorough assessment and feedback. I can also have students go back and review the part of the video I made the comment on so they can see what they were doing well or where they made an error. Unlike having students post a YouTube video, I am able to comment on the video at a specific part and I'm able to give video feedback.
So happy with GoReact
What do you like best about the product?
Ease of use for instructors & students. Tutorials and helpful resources on the website. Attentive staff who reply quickly to questions.
What do you dislike about the product?
nothing! I have used GoReact for at least 8 years and recommend it to others.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I teach American Sign Language. GoReact allows easy recording for students without having to upload (even though that can be done). It's easy for me to see the videos, pair students with partners on projects, and allows for very easy commenting and grading, either in text or video. Use of rubrics is a great time-saver.
GoReact saves the day
What do you like best about the product?
GoReact is a user friendly platform and allows instructors to provide feedback to students using text, audio and or video.
What do you dislike about the product?
Over the many years our college has used GoReact there have been features I felt GoReact was missing. I contacted a GoReact representative with my input and to date, every feature I have asked about has since been added as well as others I have yet to master.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I teach sign language interpreting and after students record their interpretations I am able to provide feedback via video recording using sign language to not only provide feedback but to also model, in sign language, certain features of the language. Switching to GoReact has also allowed our program to integrate the assignment rubrics into each assignment which makes them available to students immediately.

This program is very helpful for my classes.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The ability to view students and offer suggestions to make adjustments to their performances.
LifeSaver!
What do you like best about the product?
Save time and give the student quality feedback
What do you dislike about the product?
With a few years of experience with GoReact, I do not have any dislike. It is because GoReact upholds with maintaining improvements to service us as an instructor and for students as well.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
N/A
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I would recommend to any other ASL Instructor to use this GoReact because it is easy for us to observe our ASL students' work and a great tool that we can give different methods of feedback include the video of me signed, youtube as other deaf individuals to allow students see another person signed than only from instructor, plus, we can leave a text message or use stamps. Awesome!!
Using GoReact with Student Teaching
What do you like best about the product?
It is a very user friendly interface. My university supervisors and mentor teachers learned to use it very quickly. There any so many different uses that help student teachers see themselves teaching, do self-evaluation, and receive feedback from mentors and supervisors.
What do you dislike about the product?
The downside is the reporting function. There have been multiple times when the CSV report download has failed to work at all.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The problem we have solved is being able to evaluate students without actually being in the classroom with them. This has happened due to COVID, but we love the many ways students benefit. We hope to continue to use GoReact even after we are able to go back into schools. Benefits have included improved student self-evaluation, reduced mileage reimbursement costs, and improved feedback from mentors and supervisors.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I would highly recommend giving GoReact a try. It is very user friendly and facilitates evaluation of students in many ways.
