Using GoReact with Teacher Candidates during a Pandemic

  • December 09, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The features I like the best are the ability to leave time stamped comments, attach video comments, and utilize rubrics. Using time stamped comments allows the teacher candidates to find the specific area in their lesson where their practice might need further improvement. During the pandemic while we have been more separated for safety reasons, the supervisors have been able to leave video feedback directly in the system which has been great for feedback and relationships. Lastly, the rubric builder was easy to use to create our previously approved rubrics within the system.
What do you dislike about the product?
Since we utilize Taskstream for all our accreditation reporting, I wish GoReact connected to Taskstream for smoother reporting of the data collected. A lot of the video data could be very meaningful if it integrated with this other platform.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
GoReact has been extremely helpful for conducting video observations during the pandemic. It has allowed our field supervisors to continue observations when they have not been permitted in school buildings. The security of GoReact is also helpful in sharing with partners that we take student security as seriously as they do.

GoReact for win in these times of virtual learning

  • December 09, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The ease of use and the help guides that are great to navigate. They make it easy for me to send the links to people with questions or download the PDFs and send those.
What do you dislike about the product?
So far I have not found anything to really dislike. Their guides are so great it makes using it easy.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are doing virtual observations of candidates in the classroom. The submit a video of a lesson and it allows not only the teacher to grade it but allows for peer commentary.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I have recommended this product to multiple people at different higher education institutions to help with their observations issues.

User-Friendly Tech for Students and Instructors

  • December 09, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
This platform is so easy to set up, easy to navigate, so many well-designed "how to" videos in their library, and the rubric and comment features for students and instructors to use for helpful feedback (as well as assignment completed reports to view) are so helpful.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some students have difficulty with knowing how to first save their attachments as PDF formats before attaching, but I can understand why it's needed to be uploaded in that format for viewing.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I'm able to easily grade and time speeches (it's timed already!) and provide comments directed at the specific moments in the presentation as needed (much more helpful and specific feedback can be shared).
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Viewing the collection of short and informative "how to" videos in the library of GoReact will make course set-up a breeze.

GoReact for Practicums and Internships

  • December 09, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I love the ease of the program to use the markers for specific feedback and then go in later to extend on that marker. GoReact has been great for our practicum and internship use for the past few years. It saves me time as an instruction to provide feedback to students. It saves student's times throughout the whole process of uploading and seeing feedback time stamped on videos to complete written reflections of the videos.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't like the print preview feature was taken away. I copy and paste the time stamped feedback into a rubric (haven't used the rubric feature yet) and not you can only print so I copy and paste from the chat box. But it doesn't copy and paste as nicely as it did from the print preview in the past few years.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The benefits are time. It takes me less time to review videos with time stamped feedback than previously just using a secure youtube account. I also love the time stamped feedback feature and that students can go back and watch the video to read comments and see exactly what I am discussing the feedback with their interaction / teaching strategy / language used.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
GoReact is easy to use for students and teachers and provides a great option for receiving timely and meaningful feedback through a stress free process.

Video analysis helps focus teacher intern attention

  • December 08, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
We have been using GoReact for a few years now in our teacher preparation programs. Video analysis helps developing teachers to choose a particular strategy or learning theory and then focus their attention on it. For instance, if a world language teacher knows that they want to be speaking the target language for 90% of certain lessons, actually watching back the video and tallying every 20 seconds gives the intern more accurate data than simply a "feel" for the percentage. If trust is built, video allows for collaboration with teams as well, so that teachers can visit each others classrooms on their own time and see how others might be implementing something (a Socratic seminar, math talk moves, a particular entry task activity, etc.)
What do you dislike about the product?
Video is a sensitive medium no matter what platform you are using. Thus, proper permissions and training of privacy can make it complicated. However, GoReact does provide a secure place to store these videos.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
GoReact and video analysis of the classroom is allowing us a lot more flexibility for observations of teacher interns. We are able to observe teacher interns in geographically far places, which saves mileage and scheduling also becomes simpler. It also helps to have the intern watch themselves and focus on a particular area of their teaching so that they can point to actual evidence, and time stamp the video, rather than relying solely on memory. Peer review allows teachers from different schools to share their lessons and strategies with one another and get feedback from job alike peers.

  • December 08, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I love it. Deaf professors are using this platform. It is CHAMP. It is the best tool what I am looking for!!!! Thank you!
What do you dislike about the product?
Some GoReact staff are good and some GoReact staff are not great. I know how frustrated they are when they received MANY calls.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I want my hearing students who are using American Sign Language can express their ASL in the GoReact. I am Deaf professor. I am able to view and grade it. PERFECT!!! It is better than asking them to send me their videos from YouTube. forget it....
