Great for speech class!

  • September 23, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The recording features are easy for me but also easy for my students. They find it intuitive and don't end up asking me a lot of questions I can't answer about the technology.
What do you dislike about the product?
The support is helpful, but I wish there were 24 hour support, or at least support on weekends. And phone support available more consistently for instructors.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Moving a live speech class to an online speech class. I would have said it was impossible but it works with this. Biggest benefit is it allows a smooth transition to using peer critiques, which using other platforms to do the same thing would not.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It works well for what I' m using it for.

Helpful feedback in Public Speaking course

  • September 23, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
My students submit several videos during the semester, and the ability to leave time-stamped comments helps them know exactly what I'm wanting them to work on. I'm also using the multiple camera option for group work this semester, and it is allow online students to interact more personally with their classmates.
What do you dislike about the product?
The main challenges we've encountered involve user error. Students sometimes have issues accessing assignments, but that is almost always because they are going about it the wrong way. There are instances when my students do not have enough speed on their internet connection for things to work smoothly. I have many students in rural areas, and this is a problem.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Teaching online Public Speaking courses is a strange idea. Students miss the personal connection and the real-time feedback found in a face to face classroom. GoReact is helping me fill those gaps.

Love the student feedback!!

  • September 23, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I love that the students can submit their videos and I can comment directly on them with feedback that they can actively compare to that portion of the video. Really allows the students to see what I am talking about and how they can improve!
Students have been able to improve upon their work as they review and practice to get their videos "just right"! Has definitely made some of them more accountable.
Students have verbalized their increased learning from practicing for their videos and then reviewing their videos afterwards.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes if I go back and review a portion of the video and want to leave a comment it doesn't leave it at that timemark and I have to delete and re-try the comment so it is linked at the time. This occurs when I have already viewed the entire video and then go back to review something.
I also wish there was a way to make the sound louder on those "lower quality" videos.
I wish that the Markers were just labeled with the first letter of each word, for example hand hygiene= HH not Ha. this would making finding them easier when several markers start with the same letters.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
This allows us as teachers to complete skills validations right now in this COVID world where we need to minimize in person contact time. It also really allows the students the ability to improve as they can actually view themselves doing the actions.
We are thinking that we will continue to use GoReact even after the COVID crisis so that students can continue to use it as such a valuable learning tool!
So very helpful to have the students rewatch their own videos to improve their own technique.
We also use it to show the students videos of us doing things incorrectly and having them correct our technique.

GoReact game changer for healthcare education

  • September 23, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The GoReact system is easy and fun to use! Students are able to upload videos and engage in self-review and review of their peers. The learning from this process is invaluable and GoReact has made sharing feedback much easier than typical video review formats. Instructor grading is also easy and very fast. GoReact has saved countless faculty hours that are typically needed to provide valuable feedback for practical skills assessments.
What do you dislike about the product?
An area for improvement would be an automatically generated email when someone responds to your comments. Without manually checking each submission, or asking students to inform me directly, I am unable to engage in dialog through the GoReact system
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
GoReact has saved countless faculty hours that are typically needed to provide valuable feedback for practical skills assessments. I have also used GoReact for students to post weekly practice VLOGs for practical skills which allow faculty to quickly monitor psychomotor skills and intervene as needed before a formal practical assessment.

  • September 23, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
support by folks who are familiar with the field of ASL and Interpreting Education
What do you dislike about the product?
limits of using videos that are either raw files or youtube. would like ability to link to other videos (ie facebook live, vimeo, etc)
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
no problems come to mind now. benefits are plenty -- ability to use both ASL and English, time coded that is embedded in the video, ability for students to interpret simultaneously and to see the stimulus material at the same time.

What do you like best about the product?

What do you dislike about the product?

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

Recommendations to others considering the product:
Its ease of use and utility makes this an effective choice.

GoReact Analysis

  • September 23, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
This is the fourth school year that I’ve used GoReact. The first three years I used it as a stand alone. This year is the first year I’ve used it in Canvas.

The best part of GoReact is the number of options it gives my speech students to record and upload their speeches into Canvas. Other recording platforms restrict the student to using their laptop or desktop only, and get best results while sitting down only. Many students use their smartphones to record and can easily upload their speeches into Canvas. GoReact functionality allows students to record themselves from head to toe while not losing any audio or video quality.

I hope this helps.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is one improvement I’d like to see. Right now I’m using Dan Rothwell’s edition 3 of “Practically Speaking” for the course text which has GoReact embedded in the ebook. The way it’s set up now is students cannot access any GoReact study resources until the instructor clicks on the resource to “open” it for the student. Some of these GoReact resources are ungraded study aids for students to use at their discretion. So, unless I click on it first the students have no access. Outside of that I absolutely love using GoReact for its functionality and ease of use for instructors and students alike.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Ease it provides students to record and upload speeches to be graded.

The use of “markers” for instructors to use when grading speeches.

Our program is using it to analyze teaching and learning with our teacher candidates.

  • September 23, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
1. Customer service has been great.
2. I like the marking and coding features. They are easy and intuitive.
3. Easy to learn.
What do you dislike about the product?
1. Longer videos are slow for our students to upload, but that is understandable.
2. Would like more analytics.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
1. More sophisticated analysis of our teacher candidates’ teaching.
2. Field difficulties because of COVID
3. Benefits....It is too early to tell but we are optimistic.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It will expand your imagination about what can be done, so at least invest some time and exploration into the trial version if you are not sure. It is worth it.
